# Chapter 514: Plunder
Qian Wu looked at his own palm, feeling a slight numbness. This body had never really belonged to him to begin with, but now it felt even less like his own.
He snapped back to reality, raised his head to look at Qi Xia who was deep in thought, and said softly, "We've pretty much saved them all. We can continue our earlier topic now."
"Our earlier topic..." Qi Xia paused for a moment. "Isn't it already over?"
"You suspect that woman named Xu Liunian is somewhat suspicious... and that's it?" Qian Wu said. "Don't you have any countermeasures? If you have any ideas, I'll have 'Cat' work with you."
"My countermeasures..." Qi Xia took a deep breath and said, "If I'm not mistaken... I don't need any countermeasures at all. Xu Liunian will definitely show up on her own and give me the answers."
"Oh...?"
"Qian Wu, both times I died, Xu Liunian was present." Qi Xia recalled. "Before, I thought it was a coincidence, but now there are too many doubts, so I'm not so sure anymore... During this upcoming 'Pegasus Moment,' she'll most likely appear again. As long as she shows up voluntarily, I might be able to see through her thoughts."
Qian Wu looked at Qi Xia's stern expression and couldn't help but furrow his brow.
He felt that Qi Xia had changed, different from the impression he had of him before.
Now, Qian Wu had absolutely no idea what Qi Xia was thinking, nor what decision he would make next.
Would the old Qi Xia have gambled his life on something with no certainty?
"Then..." Qian Wu tentatively asked again, "Do we still need to help you 'Echo'?"
"No need." Qi Xia shook his head, looking at Qian Wu with a very strange gaze. "You know it's futile too. If I can't see the real Yu Nian'an, nothing I do will be of any use. I'm tired today. Let's go back and get something to eat, conserve our energy, and get to sleep early."
Qian Wu and Saturday exchanged a glance. Neither knew how to persuade him. Tomorrow would bring the deathly high-mortality "Pegasus Moment," yet Qi Xia was acting as if it were just an ordinary afternoon.
Having lost their direction, the group could only tidy up their things and begin heading back to the prison.
Walking along the road, Saturday looked at Qi Xia, Chen Junnan, and Qiao Jiajin in the distance, feeling somewhat uneasy in her heart.
These three were far too calm. Not only were they chatting and laughing, but they were even taking in the scenery along the way.
Even if Qi Xia and Qiao Jiajin had no memory of the "Pegasus Moment," what about Chen Junnan? Had he given up too?
Saturday slowly slowed her pace, falling to the back of the group. After confirming that no one was paying attention to her, she gently cupped her right hand over her right ear and softly called out:
"Jiang Ruoxue, you dead or what?"
A voice came through quickly: "Eh? Isn't this Sister Mo? Is this the right time to be contacting me?"
"Tsk, cut the crap." Saturday lowered her voice even further, her eyes cautiously watching the group ahead, and continued, "Tomorrow's 'Pegasus Moment,' remember to run for your life."
"What..." Jiang Ruoxue's tone instantly turned serious. "Are you kidding me? We haven't even reached the halfway point of these ten days. What 'Pegasus Moment' out of nowhere?"
"Tsk, damn it..." Saturday cursed under her breath. "You just know it now. Prepare to get your people out of there. Don't blame me if you die."
"Alright, alright..." Jiang Ruoxue replied lazily. "On behalf of all members of the 'Jidao,' I offer our most sincere thanks to our undercover Sister Mo..."
"Piss off."
Saturday decisively cut off the telepathy and slowly rejoined the group.
Officer Li noticed her unnatural expression, smiled, and asked, "What's wrong? Something happened?"
"Nothing." Saturday shook her head, looking off to the side. "I was just checking on Wang Ba and the others. They're ahead of us, almost at the prison now."
Officer Li was no ordinary person. Having interrogated countless individuals, he could tell at a glance that Saturday was hiding something. But considering they had only known each other for a day or two, it wasn't unreasonable for her to keep things from him. So he simply nodded.
Seeing that Saturday was no longer engaging with him, Officer Li reached into his pocket out of habit. He desperately wished his empty pocket would produce a pack of cigarettes—any brand would do, as long as it was a fresh, smokable, fragrant pack.
But the pocket remained empty.
He had already "Echoed" with the ability "Plunder," yet no matter what, he couldn't pull a cigarette out of his own pocket.
What was going on?
Could it really be, as Qian Wu described, that his subconscious mind had to firmly believe there was a cigarette in his pocket?
This was about as contradictory as it gets. It was precisely because he had no cigarette that he urgently wanted to activate this ability. But once he knew he had none, he couldn't pull it out no matter what. How was he supposed to manage that?
"How exactly do you control your subconscious...?"
Officer Li's muttering was overheard by Saturday. She looked at him with interest and asked, "Tsk, training your 'Echo'?"
"Training...? Can this thing be trained?" Officer Li asked, puzzled.
"Sort of." Saturday nodded. "None of us could activate it one hundred percent at the beginning. No one else can help you with this—the most important thing is that you 'believe' it yourself."
"I understand the logic, but how do I make myself believe...? My pocket is clearly empty."
"Tsk, you can use your usual habits to improve your success rate." Saturday said. "Take me, for example. My 'Echo' is 'Telepathy.' If I just start talking out loud, it might fail. So I usually imagine I'm on a phone call."
Saturday put one hand to her ear and said softly, "This way, I know I've entered the telepathy state, and my success rate has gone up a lot."
"So what action should I use?" Officer Li shook his head. "I just want to smoke a cigarette."
"Tsk, can't you figure it out? If you want to smoke, then smoke."
"Smoke..." Officer Li didn't understand. "But I don't have any cigarettes..."
"Close your eyes." Saturday said bluntly.
Hearing this, Officer Li could only slowly close his eyes.
"Reach for a cigarette." Saturday said.
"But my subconscious..."
"Reach for a cigarette." Saturday snapped coldly. "Take one out and show me."
With her being so forceful, Officer Li could only pretend to pull a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. He had to admit, with his eyes closed, it was indeed easier to imagine.
Officer Li pretended to take out the pack, then pulled out a single cigarette from it, though he knew both his hands were empty.
To make his act more convincing, after pulling out the cigarette, he put the nonexistent pack back in his pocket.
"Go ahead and smoke one." Saturday said slowly. "This is a public place. No one will mind."
