Chapter 284: The Odd One Among the Zodiac
Black Sheep, standing nearby with arms crossed, leaned back and straightened up. "If it offends you, then leave. Yang Ge is not your teacher, so there's no need for you to offend him."
White Sheep glanced at Black Sheep but did not refute the statement.
A few seconds later, Human Pig fell to his knees with a loud thud.
"Yang Ge... you know my teacher can't help me... You're the only one I can rely on now..."
Human Pig's tone sounded utterly desperate. Though he was a middle-aged man, he knelt and bowed like a slave.
"Stand up," White Sheep said coldly. "Kneeling will make me lose respect for you."
Human Pig paused at the words, then slowly straightened up, using his knees to push himself upright.
"What is it?" White Sheep asked again.
"Yang Ge... I'm only twenty-odd 'Dao' short of signing the contract... but my teacher is making things difficult for me at every turn... he collects more and more every day..." Human Pig's voice began to choke. "I just want to walk out of here with dignity... I..."
"Just say what you want."
Human Pig paused, then looked up. "I want to sign the contract. I want to break away from my current teacher..."
White Sheep and Black Sheep exchanged glances, their expressions turning strange.
"Isn't that treasonous talk?" White Sheep said. "If this gets out, you're dead."
"But you two won't tell anyone!" Human Pig urged. "Yang Ge, I'm about to fulfill the quota. I just need a safety net at the final stage... I hope Yang Ge can help me. Once I become 'Earth Grade', I'll definitely stand on your side."
Black Sheep glanced sideways at White Sheep, wondering what this man would choose.
White Sheep slowly stood up and said, "Pig, do you mean... you want to add 'Lies' to your 'Probability Game'?"
"Yes."
"But you know... once the game is set, it can't be changed privately, unless..."
"Unless I bet my life. I know." Human Pig nodded. "If I keep being squeezed, I won't just fail to sign the contract—I might even be beaten to death by my teacher. When it comes down to the final step... I'll gamble my life without hesitation."
White Sheep thought for a long time, then finally nodded.
He turned around, took two pairs of glasses from the drawer of the room, and handed them to Human Pig.
Black Sheep narrowed his eyes as he watched the scene, letting out a deep breath.
"These two pairs of glasses were my props from when I was 'Human Sheep'," White Sheep said. "Wear one pair, and you can only tell the truth; wear the other, and you can only tell lies. I'm giving them to you now."
"G-giving them to me?" Human Pig looked at the two pairs of glasses in disbelief.
"But let me be clear beforehand..." White Sheep returned to his seat. "These two pairs of glasses could be a miraculous remedy that helps you when you're about to leave, or they could be a bottomless abyss that shatters all your efforts. It all depends on how you use them."
"Yang Ge..." Human Pig looked up hesitantly. "I've never designed a game of lies... Could you... please give me some advice?"
"No." White Sheep shook his head. "You and I have no connection. This is all I can do."
Human Pig nodded. "Yes... Yang Ge, I'm sorry. I'm already very grateful that you gave me this."
"Design the part about 'Lies' yourself," White Sheep said. "Live or die—that's up to your own fate."
"Okay!" Human Pig nodded. "Yang Ge, I hope at the critical moment... your props can save my life."
"I hope so."
White Sheep and Black Sheep watched Human Pig leave the room, and the atmosphere fell silent again.
After a long pause, Black Sheep slowly spoke. "Yang Ge... so you've been keeping the props from your 'Human Grade' days all along?"
"Yes, what about it?" White Sheep turned to look at him.
"N-nothing." Black Sheep shook his head.
"You want to say, 'You have such convenient props, yet you didn't give them to me—you gave them to an outsider,' right?"
"I..." Black Sheep was slightly taken aback. "Yang Ge, how could I think that..."
"You and Mouse are two extremes," White Sheep said with a smile. "She never lies, and you never confess."
Black Sheep's gaze sank slightly, but he still smiled. "Yang Ge, you taught me that. At no time should I reveal my true thoughts..."
"Is that so?" White Sheep chuckled. "The skills I taught you—you use them on me?"
"No..." Black Sheep stood up flustered. "Yang Ge, you misunderstand. I just..."
"Alright, no need to say more." White Sheep waved his hand. "This is a good thing. Among you few, you might be the first to reach Earth Grade."
Hearing this, Black Sheep sat down with a complicated expression.
As the two sat in silence, the door was suddenly flung open.
"Yang Ge! It's bad!" Human Tiger shouted from outside. "Little Mouse is in trouble... You need to come and deal with it!"
White Sheep slowly stood up. "So flustered... Is there something you two can't handle?"
"This is really tricky..." Human Snake burst in and said, "The little girl has been taken away by Earth Serpent!"
White Sheep and Black Sheep immediately narrowed their eyes, and both rushed out of the door.
Several people sprinted down the corridor. Human Tiger recounted what he had heard from the two Human Rabbits to White Sheep.
"Earth Serpent, that old pervert, has really lost his mind..." Black Sheep gritted his teeth. "It was one thing to snatch people before, but Mouse only left Yang Ge's place a few minutes ago. This is way out of line!"
"It seems Little Mouse herself said she 'has no teacher'," Human Tiger said with a worried look. "We need to hurry... If we could beat that old scumbag, we wouldn't have troubled Yang Ge."
"Enough with the nonsense."
The group quickly passed dozens of doors and finally arrived in front of Earth Serpent's room.
White Sheep loosened his suit buttons and then undid his cufflinks.
"Yang Ge... what's the strategy?" Human Tiger asked nervously.
After all, behind that door were not only Earth Serpent but also several of his male and female disciples.
"I'll take care of Earth Serpent. You guys take care of the rest."
"Take care...?" Human Tiger was stunned for a moment, then grinned. "As expected of you, Yang Ge. I fully understand your strategy now."
The three 'Zodiacs' behind White Sheep all unbuttoned their suits. After a bit of stretching, White Sheep kicked the wooden door, sending it flying.
The scene inside ignited fury in the four of them.
A withered, old snake-headed man was naked, holding Human Mouse close, tearing at her clothes. Around them, countless naked men and women were cheering and shouting.
Everyone was startled by the four intruders.
"Earth Sheep...?" Earth Serpent turned his head, showing a puzzled expression. "What are you doing?"
"I've come to pick up the child." White Sheep walked forward, flexing his wrist.
