Chapter 1321: Everyone in Chaos
Zhang Shan and Qiao Jiajin studied the bare door frame for a while. After determining there was no passage through it, Zhang Shan walked off on his own to examine other things in the room.
But Qiao Jiajin was still staring at the door frame. He reached out and slowly closed the door, then abruptly opened it again.
He repeated the same motion five or six times in a row, leaving Zhang Shan, who was now further away, somewhat puzzled.
"Tattooed kid, what are you busy with?"
Qiao Jiajin closed the door once more. "Big guy, I feel like it might be related to the posture we use to open the door?"
"What do you think?" Zhang Shan shook his head and asked.
"I've tried several different postures," Qiao Jiajin said. "But the other side of the door is still a wall."
"Of course it is," Zhang Shan replied, looking at Qiao Jiajin. "When Qinglong opened the door earlier, I didn't see him do anything special either."
"That's true." Qiao Jiajin nodded, then closed the door again. "If it's not about the opening posture, then it must have something to do with the timing. I'll keep it closed a bit longer."
"Really, I can't do anything with you..."
Before Zhang Shan could finish his sentence, he suddenly felt a figure flash in front of him, followed by a huge gust of wind.
"Big guy!! Watch out!!"
Zhang Shan instinctively raised his hand to block, but his limbs felt unresponsive, as if they were stiff, filled with cement.
The next second, a powerful palm strike landed on the side of his neck. Zhang Shan spat out a mouthful of blood and was sent flying. Although Qiao Jiajin, who was farther away, didn't fly off, he too had a mouthful of blood.
Qiao Jiajin forced his head up to stay conscious and suddenly saw Qinglong's smiling face in front of him.
Before Qinglong could attack, Qiao Jiajin immediately leaped up on the spot and executed a flying knee strike. But Qinglong vanished from in front of him again, reappeared behind him, and threw a heavy punch at Qiao Jiajin's side.
Qiao Jiajin tried to twist his waist in midair, but the movements he imagined were completely different from what his body actually did. He ended up punching the air in front of him instead.
"Seize the Heart..."
Qiao Jiajin had no choice but to take Qinglong's blow head-on. In the distance, Zhang Shan let out a groan of pain on the ground.
In just a few seconds, both of them were knocked to the ground by Qinglong. They scrambled back up and looked at him, only to find that his condition was even stranger than before.
His hair was disheveled, his body was covered in blood, and the wounds on his forehead and arms had not healed. His eyes were bloodshot, and his expression was even more deranged than before.
"No more obstacles now..." Qinglong laughed loudly. "You really don't take me seriously, do you..."
The two men staggered to their feet, just about to brace themselves for another fight, when Qinglong flashed in front of Zhang Shan again.
Zhang Shan thought Qinglong was about to launch another surprise attack and quickly raised his hands to protect his chest. But Qinglong simply raised his hand toward Zhang Shan's forehead. The next second, a golden glow emerged from between Zhang Shan's brows and drifted into Qinglong's hand. At that moment, Zhang Shan slowly lowered his head, his eyes gradually losing their focus.
"I'll keep your sanity safe," Qinglong said with a smile. "Mere mortals..."
Seeing this, Qiao Jiajin rushed forward to rescue Zhang Shan, only to find Qinglong appearing in front of him again.
"And your sanity too."
Qiao Jiajin stared wide-eyed as a golden glow flew out from between his own brows.
...
More and more people in the corridor were being touched on the forehead by invisible threads, and one by one, they slowly stopped moving.
After all, only a very few could sense the existence of those threads. But in the inescapable "train" carriage, even knowing where the threads were didn't guarantee one could dodge them completely.
Even in the vast "Land of Finality," a "Heavenly Horse Moment" could kill countless people, let alone in the cramped space of the "train" carriage.
Earth Monkey and Earth Chicken peered through the gap in the door, trying hard to observe the situation outside. They were simply too curious.
It seemed that from some point, the outside had gradually become deathly quiet, as if the "rebellion" had already ended.
"Damn... did you see that?" Earth Monkey pointed at Aunt Tong and the others, who stood motionless in the distance. "They look like they're possessed..."
"What's going on?" Earth Chicken asked, puzzled. "Are they being controlled by some 'Immortal Art'?"
Hearing this question, Earth Monkey paused, then squinted, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.
He had intended to use "Spirit Vision" to see what kind of "Immortal Art" these "participants" had fallen under, but that one glance nearly scared the soul out of him.
The entire carriage was filled with glowing, transparent threads, writhing like vipers, darting chaotically through the air.
"What the hell..." Earth Monkey's voice trembled. "A 'Heavenly Level Moment'?!"
"What 'Heavenly Level Moment'?" Earth Chicken asked.
Before Earth Monkey could even figure out whose "Heavenly Level Moment" this was, he saw the threads suddenly change direction and rush at an "Earth Level" in the corridor.
One thread, completely unnoticed, shot toward the "Earth Level's" forehead. The next moment, that "Earth Level" stood still like a puppet whose power had been cut off, its head lowered.
"Damn!!" Earth Monkey shouted. "This isn't a 'Heavenly Level Moment'... this thing even kills 'Zodiacs'..."
"What the hell is going on?" Earth Chicken asked.
"Earth Chicken! Outside is full of—"
Before he could finish, several threads seemed to notice the room where Earth Monkey and Earth Chicken were hiding. Like eagles spotting prey in the sky, they turned toward them and then shot forward.
Earth Monkey didn't have time to speak. He quickly tackled Earth Chicken to the side, and at that moment, the door was slammed open by something.
The two rolled apart on the floor, tangling themselves in the process with many of the threads that had been on Heaven Monkey and Heaven Chicken earlier.
Earth Monkey didn't bother about the disgusting things clinging to him. He quickly looked up—those transparent things were indeed chasing after them. Whose "Heavenly Level Moment" was this anyway? When he released "Track," didn't he realize the "Zodiacs" were on his side?
The threads turned toward Earth Chicken's direction, adjusting their attack positions.
"Earth Chicken!! Dodge!!" Earth Monkey knew he couldn't get there in time to save her, so he could only shout.
But Earth Chicken, lying on the ground, looked utterly bewildered.
Dodge... dodge what? Dodge where?
She couldn't see any threads at all. She just tilted her head symbolically, but the next moment, she felt something strike her forehead. Her mind instantly became a mess, and her eyes went blank.
"Fuck!!" Earth Monkey cursed furiously, his expression seething with rage, but he had no idea how to deal with these things. He could only try to weave around the threads while they were busy with Earth Chicken, run out of the room, and get into the corridor outside.
The sight in the corridor sent chills down his spine. Countless threads were flailing wildly in the air, and both "Zodiacs" and "participants" had all been locked on.
