Chapter 1264: The Strongest Death Card

The Heavenly Serpent flew far away. Fortunately, the rooms at the "Heaven-class" level were much more spacious than those at the "Earth-class" level, so he didn't crash directly into the wall.

As soon as he landed, he immediately scrambled to his feet, but his vision was still blurred. Realizing what had happened, he reached out to feel for his fallen glasses. Losing his sight at a time like this was far from ideal.

However, after such a heavy blow, he and his glasses had been sent flying in completely different directions. The Heavenly Serpent groped around on the ground for a long time, finding nothing.

Seeing this, the White Serpent stepped forward, clutching the wound on his body. Now, there were two paths before him.

One was to attack the Heavenly Serpent's glasses not far away; the other was to strike at the "Qiongqi" near his own side.

If he could destroy the Heavenly Serpent's glasses, he would gain a significant advantage in the ensuing battle. But he might also lose his only chance to kill the "Qiongqi."

However, if he killed the "Qiongqi" first, the Heavenly Serpent, once he found his glasses, would surely fight to the death. Even if he helped the group wipe out an unhatched "divine beast," his own vengeance would never be fulfilled.

He hadn't expected this small room to contain two enemies that would bring endless trouble. Letting either the "Qiongqi" or the Heavenly Serpent escape would have consequences for the battle outside.

After a brief second of hesitation, the White Serpent finally fixed his gaze on the "Qiongqi." After all, at this moment, he had a high probability of killing this woman, but he wasn't sure he could kill the Heavenly Serpent first.

Before Xiao Ran could react to the situation, the White Serpent was already in front of her.

She was terrified, stepping back in panic, and in her fluster, a burst of intense light suddenly erupted from her body. The White Serpent didn't understand Xiao Ran's ability and had never seen such a powerful light. He was momentarily blinded, and Xiao Ran seized the opportunity to flee with her head down.

Xiao Ran hid to the side, her trembling voice ringing out: "What are you doing? Attacking a woman over a minor disagreement? Is this how a man behaves? If I'd known all men were like this, why would I have even wanted to be a woman?"

Her voice gradually turned sorrowful, as if touching her own "Mourning" moments ago had begun to take effect.

The White Serpent slowly opened his eyes once the intense light faded. He turned his head to look at Xiao Ran and said something she never would have expected:

"If you don't want to be a woman, then I'll be one instead."

Xiao Ran had never heard such an absurd notion; for a moment, she forgot how to even respond.

The White Serpent immediately lunged forward, leaping toward Xiao Ran. Mid-flight, he snatched a scalpel from the table and hurled it toward the glasses the Heavenly Serpent was about to reach. The scalpel struck them, sending the glasses flying even farther away.

Once again, Xiao Ran unleashed a blinding light, but this time the White Serpent was prepared. Unhindered, he punched straight toward the source of the intense radiance.

The punch connected with a solid thud.

An ordinary person, without any physical enhancement, couldn't possibly survive a full-force punch from an "Earth-class" fighter.

But as the White Serpent slowly opened his eyes, he saw a massive hand blocking his path. This hand pressed against the ceiling and the floor, its area astonishingly large.

Xiao Ran was trembling, having used her enormous hand to shield herself, exactly blocking the White Serpent's attack.

"Not good... she seems completely unhinged..." the White Serpent muttered to himself.

Only then did he realize he had been naive. Neither the "Qiongqi" nor the Heavenly Serpent could be killed immediately.

Perhaps among all the "Earth-class" fighters, he alone had drawn the true death card. He would have to rely on his mediocre combat skills and "Mourning" to simultaneously fight a "Heaven-class" opponent and a "ferocious beast."

If he truly had such strength, why would he have waited until now to rebel?

The only good news was that this "ferocious beast," she...

"What exactly are you trying to do...?" Xiao Ran suddenly burst into tears, her expression overwhelmingly sorrowful. "M-My hand... why has it turned like this? Where's my flying? Where's my immense strength?"

She dragged her enormous arm, not knowing how to revert it to normal. Frantically spinning around the room, she sent furniture and "original inhabitants" crashing in all directions. Fragments scattered everywhere; many of the "furnishings" were injured, and in no time, she knocked aside the glasses that the Heavenly Serpent had almost reached again.

"Stupid woman... you stupid woman..." the Heavenly Serpent muttered curses as he groped along the ground like a blind man. "If it weren't for the Azure Dragon... I would have crushed you into dust...!"

"Heavenly Serpent! Heavenly Serpent!" Xiao Ran shouted frantically through her sobs. "What happened to my hand?! Aren't we on the same side? You have to save me!! Did the surgery fail?! I've never seen anything like this!"

The Heavenly Serpent lifted his head blankly. Through the blur of his severe myopia, he could only make out a massive, fleshy silhouette moving toward him like a wall.

"Don't come near me!!" the Heavenly Serpent roared. "Damn it all!! Is it really that hard to just stand still?!"

The White Serpent shrank into a corner, knowing this chaos was only temporary. Once the two calmed down and coordinated their strategy, he would be dead on the spot.

He likely had only one last chance to attack. If he struck now, amidst the confusion, his opponents wouldn't be prepared. But who should he attack?

Should it be the ferocious beast that had been "helping" him all along, or the Heavenly Serpent, who had been trying to kill him from the start?

A few seconds later, the White Serpent curled his lips into a smile.

Yes. With only one attack, the target was already decided. After all, he had never planned on leaving from the very beginning.

He shook off his own blood staining his hands, walked to the center of the room, and hoisted the surgery table—large enough for one person. Then, twisting his waist, he hurled it with all his strength toward the door.

*Crack!*

After the deafening crash, the wall with the door was blown open, revealing a massive black hole.

The door itself, struck by the heavy impact, was blasted straight out, tumbling into the black void along with the surgery table, drifting farther and farther away.

From that moment on, this room no longer had a door—only a huge, black gap in the wall. The air fell into a deathly silence.

"Heavenly Serpent... Heavenly Serpent..." Xiao Ran called out softly. "What is that...? Look!"

"Shut up!!" the Heavenly Serpent bellowed. At last, he found his glasses and put them on in a hurry. Turning around, the sight before him made him gasp sharply.

The White Serpent sat down wearily against the wall beside the black hole, smearing bloodstains onto the surface.

"Ha... haha..." the White Serpent laughed. "Well, now it's settled. Whether you're a 'Qiongqi' or a 'Heavenly Serpent,' you're both trapped in here for good."
