# Chapter 67: The Rabbit
Rounding a street corner, the three of them arrived at a run-down police station.
A rabbit-headed person stood at the entrance.
"It's here!" Old Lyu said. "Looks like it's already over..."
Qi Xia glanced at the rabbit-headed person. It appeared to be another woman.
Her mask was battered, and her suit was covered in dust. Clearly she was a "Human Rabbit," which meant that if Officer Li had truly participated in her game, he wouldn't have been in any life-threatening danger either.
"Want to play my game?" the Human Rabbit asked with a smile.
"No..." Qi Xia shook his head. "I want to ask about a man and a woman who came to play your game earlier. Are they still here?"
"A man and a woman?" The Human Rabbit held one hand to her chest and propped her chin up with the other, looking somewhat seductive. "Oh... you mean that sturdy young man, right?"
"That's right."
"He's a man with no sense of romance." The Human Rabbit waved her hand coyly. "I told him he didn't need to give me any 'Dao,' just play with me for a day, but he was as stiff as a wooden board..."
Qi Xia let out an impatient sigh. "Where is he?"
"Young man, you're quite handsome too..." The Human Rabbit suddenly reached out and touched Qi Xia's face, startling him.
"Even if you're not as burly as him, as long as you spend a day with me, I'll not only give you 'Dao' but also tell you where that man went. How about it?"
Qi Xia pushed her hand away and turned to the other two. "Forget it. Let's search nearby."
Knowing better than to get entangled with a "Zodiac," Old Lyu and Lin Qin followed Qi Xia as he turned to leave.
"If you want to search on your own... you'd better hurry." The Human Rabbit smiled sweetly. "That young man was badly injured. If you're too late, it'll be too late."
"What?" Qi Xia had only taken three steps when he froze in place.
"Why was he injured?" Qi Xia turned back, confused. "Is your game that dangerous?"
"Not really." The Human Rabbit twisted her waist and took a step forward. "My games are all 'escape-type' games. I, big sister here, designed very intricate mechanisms. But that young man, relying on his strong physique, insisted on solving them with brute force. What could I do about it?"
Qi Xia said nothing more. He turned his head and suddenly noticed several fresh traces of blood on the ground. His expression turned cold as he spoke:
"Let's go."
The three of them followed the trail of blood as they advanced.
Given the amount of blood loss, Officer Li's injuries probably weren't serious. The Human Rabbit was likely exaggerating.
Soon, following the blood trail, they arrived at the entrance of a pharmacy. From inside, sounds of clattering came continuously—someone was in there.
"Officer Li?" Qi Xia called out.
The noise inside paused, and Lawyer Zhang was the first to walk out.
"Qi Xia?!" She looked different from before—her usually neat appearance was now disheveled.
Her clothes were completely soaked, as if she had just come out of water.
"What happened?" Qi Xia asked. "Where's Officer Li?"
Lawyer Zhang's eyes suddenly widened, and she grabbed Qi Xia's arm. "Please help me! Officer Li... he's not going to make it!"
"What?!"
Qi Xia felt confused. They had followed the sparse trail of blood all the way here. It looked like nothing more than a cut on the arm. How could he be dying?
The three of them followed Lawyer Zhang inside. A heavy smell of rust wafted out.
After a few steps, they saw Officer Li, drenched in red.
His entire body was covered in blood, making it impossible to tell where he had been injured at first glance.
His lips were pale, his face ashen, and he sat slumped weakly on the ground.
"Wh-what happened..." Lin Qin trembled as she rushed forward. "Officer Li... where are you hurt?"
Officer Li turned his head to look at Qi Xia and Lin Qin, forcing a bitter smile onto his face. He slowly reached out his hand, as if wanting to say something.
Qi Xia looked down, and his heart suddenly skipped a beat.
This wasn't a matter of "where he was hurt"—
Officer Li's entire right hand was gone.
At his wrist, there was a very rough stump. It didn't look like it had been cut off; it looked like it had been torn off.
And it seemed he had found a piece of wire to tie around his arm to stop the bleeding. The wire was deeply embedded in his flesh, turning the surrounding skin purplish from constriction.
Because of this, only a small amount of blood was oozing from the stump.
"Oh my god..." Lin Qin wanted to help but realized there was nothing she could do. "Lawyer Zhang, what happened?"
"That rabbit's game..." Zhang Chenze bit her lip hard. "That woman is a complete lunatic..."
Qi Xia's gaze gradually turned cold. He walked over to Officer Li's side, wanting to say something, but every word got stuck in his throat.
He had imagined many scenarios of meeting him again, but never in a million years had he expected it to come to this.
"Lawyer Zhang, take them outside." Officer Li suddenly spoke. "I want to talk to Qi Xia alone."
"Alone?" The others looked puzzled.
Zhang Chenze thought for a moment, then nodded, leading Lin Qin and Old Lyu out of the room.
Seeing them leave, Officer Li let out a bitter laugh and said to Qi Xia, "Why are you frowning? You look like you've suffered some great injustice."
"I..." Qi Xia sighed, and could only say, "I'll avenge you. That rabbit..."
"No..." Officer Li shook his head. "That woman is insane. Don't join her game."
The words Qi Xia had been about to speak got stuck in his throat again, leaving him speechless.
Officer Li smiled weakly. "Have you found a way to get out of here?"
"No..." Qi Xia said dejectedly. "I think I might have been wrong. Not only have I not found a way out, but I've also gotten Qiao Jiajin and Tiantian killed."
Now that only Officer Li was left, Qi Xia finally voiced the pain hidden in his heart: "I made everything seem too simple..."
Officer Li's pale lips curled into a slight grin. He shifted his body to make his sitting position more comfortable.
"What's wrong?" Officer Li asked. "Is there something you can't handle?"
Qi Xia didn't know how to describe the matter regarding "Xiaoxiao," so he just shook his head.
Now even the Officer Li he trusted was about to die. Qi Xia felt his headache coming on again.
He shook his head, pretending to be fine, and asked, "Why did you want me to stay alone?"
"I have some things I want to say to someone before I die."
Officer Li felt around in his pocket and pulled out a worn-out cigarette case. Inside were two moldy cigarettes, probably ones he had found in some abandoned building.
He put one cigarette in his mouth, then felt around his other pockets, cursing under his breath.
"I forgot I never found a lighter. Can't even have one last smoke before I die..."
