Chapter 1157: Kill Me
"Damn it..."
Qiu Shiliu shifted her body backward, but the broken corner didn't even have room to turn around, let alone hide anywhere.
Sure enough, as the little Xuanwu approached the corner, she immediately spotted one of Qiu Shiliu's feet sticking out from the straw.
She instantly lifted her head, and a gaze shot out from her tangled hair, locking onto Qiu Shiliu.
Qiu Shiliu's heart leaped into her throat. She clenched her right fist tightly. Whatever this little girl in front of her really was, she was definitely Xuanwu.
If necessary, she wouldn't hesitate to beat this little Xuanwu to death right here.
But unexpectedly, the little Xuanwu didn't attack Qiu Shiliu. Instead, she hurried back to the stove, used a wooden stick to fish out the few corncobs, and, without caring that they were scalding hot, grabbed them in her hands. She walked over to Qiu Shiliu and respectfully placed them on the ground.
Then the little Xuanwu quietly retreated to a distance, looking at Qiu Shiliu with some fear.
Qiu Shiliu didn't know what to do either. She looked down at the corncobs at her feet, then back at the little Xuanwu, and finally had to ask, "What are you doing...?"
"I stole them..." the little Xuanwu said in a low voice. "I'm returning them to you..."
...
Xuanwu lost control again, like a madwoman, leaving countless wounds on Wang Ba's fat belly.
Then "Flourishing Wood" and "Rampant Growth" worked together, sending countless vines surging up from underground to entangle Xuanwu. But she seemed to be under immense stimulation, constantly tearing through the vines and charging at Wang Ba.
Seeing this, Wang Ba involuntarily took a step back. After all, Xuanwu's strength was terrifying, far beyond human limits. Every punch he blocked required summoning immense courage.
Luo Shiyi quickly activated her "Forget Your Sorrows," temporarily helping Wang Ba overcome his fear.
"This crazy woman..." Luo Shiyi walked over to Wang Ba. "Wang Ba, don't you feel like she's more like... some kind of animal now?"
"An animal...?"
"I can't quite describe this feeling." Luo Shiyi looked at Xuanwu's body.
She had no face. That meant she couldn't show any expression. Even though Xuanwu's expressions were usually cold, everyone could still read a bit of information from her eyes.
But now, she was just a pure killing machine. Not a word, only slaughter.
"Elder Sister Nine!" Luo Shiyi turned and shouted into the distance. "If you don't hurry up, we're really going to end up dead here!"
Over there, Bai Jiu was clearly pointing at Jiang Shi and arranging something with several people, but she gave no response to Luo Shiyi.
"Eleven, no need to rush Xiao Jiu." Wang Ba took a step forward, his massive frame once again causing the ground to tremble slightly. "It's almost the 'Annihilation Day' anyway. I'll just stay here."
"Eighth Brother, you..."
"This feeling of being a hero is fucking amazing." Wang Ba said. "Usually, you all call me 'Wang Ba,' but at times like this, you call me 'Eighth Brother.'"
Hearing this, Luo Shiyi frowned. "Just because I called you 'Eighth Brother,' you're going to act all tough like this?"
"Who? Me, acting tough?"
"If you die, what good does that do?" Luo Shiyi said. "If you want to die, I can help too."
"Little Jiang Shi still has your 'Forget Your Sorrows' on him. Don't you die. Getting crippled is fine." Wang Ba said.
"Good point. Crippled is good. If I'm crippled, Tenth Brother won't have to die."
The two of them steeled themselves, stood once again before Xuanwu, and a moment later, charged straight at her.
...
Qiu Shiliu frowned slightly, bent down, and picked up the corncob. It was a bit hot to the touch and felt unusually hard.
"Were you eating this just now?" Qiu Shiliu tried to talk to the little Xuanwu, finding that she really seemed to be a little girl, incredibly different from the impression Xuanwu gave.
"Mm..." The little Xuanwu hesitated for a moment, then said, "I already returned it to you. I thought nobody wanted it, so I picked it up over there."
Qiu Shiliu shook her head, holding up the corncob, and said, "This thing can't be eaten."
"Yes, I won't eat it anymore." The little Xuanwu shook her head, hiding the half-bitten corncob behind her back.
"Damn..." Qiu Shiliu scratched her head. "That's not what I meant. If you want to eat, go ahead, but this stuff isn't good for you, right?"
"Good...?"
"Fuck... Why am I worrying about you..."
As if something had just occurred to her, Qiu Shiliu viciously threw the corncob to the ground, stepped forward, and grabbed the little Xuanwu by the dirty collar of her clothes.
The little Xuanwu didn't seem afraid; she just silently closed her eyes.
Qiu Shiliu knew there was definitely something wrong with the Xuanwu in front of her. After all, Xuanwu shouldn't be a child. From this, she deduced that this entire world was fake.
"My teammates are being slaughtered by you outside... and you're here playing pitiful with me?" Qiu Shiliu said. "You think just because you look like a child, I won't lay a hand on you? Not having food, versus losing your life—which do you think is more serious?"
The little Xuanwu didn't speak, just kept her eyes closed.
Seeing this, Qiu Shiliu lifted the little Xuanwu up and then slammed her hard to the ground.
The little Xuanwu's head hit the ground, tearing off a patch of skin and flesh. Blood quickly streamed down her face, but she didn't react. She just got up and closed her eyes again.
Qiu Shiliu tried hard to calm herself down.
The situation was far too bizarre.
She was viciously attacking a ragged, barely clothed little girl who had only wanted to roast the corncobs she'd found to eat, only to be beaten for no reason.
From any moral, social, or ethical standpoint, she was an unforgivable villain.
But was this really right? Xuanwu had probably killed more people than Qiu Shiliu had ever even met...
"It's fake..." Qiu Shiliu muttered under her breath. "This is all fake... You are Xuanwu's weakness. As long as I kill you, Xuanwu will surely die... Haven't you always wanted to die? I'll grant your wish..."
With that thought, Qiu Shiliu straddled the little Xuanwu and reached out with both hands to choke her neck.
But unexpectedly, the little Xuanwu's attitude toward the world was no different from the real Xuanwu's. She didn't even struggle; she just lay on the ground waiting for death.
Qiu Shiliu subconsciously looked at the little Xuanwu's face. Time had left no marks on her features, but humans had.
Her hair was scattered, and her face was covered in horrifying scars.
Although Qiu Shiliu was increasing the pressure of her grip, she couldn't help but look at the little Xuanwu's limbs. Her arms and thighs were covered in shocking bruises and wounds.
After a few dozen seconds, Qiu Shiliu hesitated again.
This time, the feeling of wanting to kill was more real than ever before. She could see the little Xuanwu's face slowly turning purple, her strength gradually fading away.
When she came to her senses, she had already let go.
"Cough..." The little Xuanwu coughed, making a retching motion, but she quickly acted as if nothing had happened and said, "Kill me."
"You..." Qiu Shiliu's lips trembled, unsure how to deal with this suffering child before her.
Seeing that Qiu Shiliu made no move, the little Xuanwu slowly opened her eyes.
It was only then that Qiu Shiliu noticed the little Xuanwu's right eye, which she had always kept hidden behind her hair, actually had two pupils.
