# Chapter 1116: Summoning a God
Luo Shiyi looked up at Bai Jiu and Jiang Shi on the rooftop across the way.
Then he extended his index finger and thumb, bent them into his mouth, and blew a sharp whistle.
The two looked up to see Luo Shiyi making hand signals not far away.
The meaning of his sign language was clear—"Jidao" was going to lose.
The "Jidao" mission had two phases. This was only the first phase, and a mere hundred-person team had already suffered casualties. If "Cat" didn't make a move, the entire plan would begin to crumble from the very first phase.
Bai Jiu reached up and fiddled with her ponytail, her expression serious as she looked downward. She quickly spotted Saturday, who was also wearing a black leather jacket, among the crowd.
Saturday was currently standing in the center of the crowd, turning her head to ask Jiang Ruoxue something while pressing a hand to her ear and speaking a few words, seemingly using "Sound Transmission" to arrange some kind of tactic.
"Sister Six didn't say anything," Bai Jiu said. "I'm still in charge here. Follow my orders."
Bai Jiu reached out and gave Luo Shiyi the "standby" gesture.
Seeing this, Luo Shiyi could only shake his head helplessly.
He understood that Bai Jiu naturally had many concerns. After all, they could lay down their lives for the mission's objective, but they couldn't sacrifice themselves for the sake of the name "Jidao."
Even if one were to consider the worst-case scenario—that this plan really failed and Bai Hu single-handedly slaughtered all the "Jidao" members—the "Cat" team could only pretend nothing had happened on the spot and return to prison to live out their lives.
Bai Jiu was not only responsible for the mission but also for all the "Cats," so she absolutely could not attack Bai Hu this time.
She looked up at the passages around the square. Some time had passed since that enormous sound had appeared, and now all the roads were filled with people.
Those people couldn't clearly see what was happening in the center swept by wind, sand, and giant trees, but they had begun forming temporary teams of twos and threes, seemingly preparing to attack at any moment.
The situation had become far too passive now. In theory, "Xuan Wu" and "Zhu Que" were responsible for handling violations by the "Zodiac" and "Participants." Now that the "Participants" were directly attacking a Divine Beast, which Divine Beast would be summoned by this kind of slaughter?
Why hadn't the two of them shown up yet?
A sense of unease faintly rose in Bai Jiu's heart. Based on past experience, no "Divine Beast" would be responsible for this massacre. Would Xuan Wu and Zhu Que even appear?
Accompanied by intense "Conviction," Bai Hu controlled the giant trees with his left hand, used Explosive Combustion with his right, and then summoned a fierce gale around him, preventing dozens of nearby people from getting close.
After all, all the "Jidao" members were coordinating for the first time. Everyone fought independently, and for a moment, they couldn't inflict even a scratch on Bai Hu.
Several dozen seconds later, all kinds of bizarre "Echoes" continued to emerge. Besides the flying sand, showers of rain and thick fog fell from the sky, but all these phenomena were dispersed by Bai Hu's "Gale Force Winds," leaving the area in complete disarray.
Doctor Zhao, Lin Qiu, and Xiao Xiao braved various harsh weather conditions and ducked into side paths. They almost circled the entire square before finally approaching the back of the giant bell.
Jiang Shi yawned as his gaze pierced through the dispersing fog and landed on them. Since the "Cat" members were positioned at a high vantage point, they could take in everything happening below.
Two people were entering the square from the perimeter and were about to run into Doctor Zhao's group. Jiang Shi was about to see what would happen when his line of sight was blocked by numerous black electrical cables hanging from a utility pole. Those black wires were tangled together like a massive ball of yarn, some hanging down and blocking the street. He could no longer track the scene.
The two teams happened to pass by a corner, then both froze for a moment.
"Han Yimo...?" Doctor Zhao stammered.
"Old Zhao!" Han Yimo looked as if he'd found a savior. "You're really here! What the hell is going on?"
Hearing this, Doctor Zhao and Lin Qiu looked beside Han Yimo. Zheng Yingxiong was standing there.
It seemed the two had made their way here all the way from the "Cangjie Chess" venue.
"Did your side finish?" Doctor Zhao said. "Isn't it 'Gambling for Life'...? You actually survived against Qing Long. Could it be..."
"Don't bring that up!" Han Yimo interrupted. "That guy cheated. Now he's fighting Xuan Wu."
"Huh?"
"What's the situation here now? Feels like the end of the world..." Han Yimo looked around them. Because the two had passed through the crowd and entered the square, the people waiting in the distance became even more restless.
"This plan is way too dangerous..." Doctor Zhao said with lingering fear. "Brother, you really messed up... It would've been better if you hadn't come. Now that you're here, you can't leave."
"Don't worry," Han Yimo said. "The protagonist of a novel rarely loses. Even if it looks like he's lost on the surface, he's definitely won behind the scenes."
"Huh...?"
"It's just... what is the plan now?" Han Yimo said. "And what's with all this messy weather?"
He noticed that the small space within the venue was simultaneously experiencing all kinds of harsh weather. "The Land of Endings" barely even had wind, so how could there be thick fog and torrential rain?
"They're trying to destroy the giant bell and the display screen..." Doctor Zhao answered with a frown. "Various 'Echoes' are being thrown at that thing now... But there's an old man called Bai Hu blocking the way, so they've shifted to attacking Bai Hu instead..."
Doctor Zhao quickly explained the current situation to Han Yimo. But Han Yimo's expression froze, and soon he began to show signs of panic.
"What's wrong with you...?" Doctor Zhao saw that Han Yimo wasn't acting normally and quickly said, "Don't overthink things... They're figuring something out..."
"So 'Bai Hu'... isn't he on the same level as 'Xuan Wu'?" Han Yimo asked. "Are you saying that we people are currently attacking Bai Hu...?"
"Pretty much." Doctor Zhao nodded. "We didn't have to attack him originally, but he's blocking the 'Jidao' members."
"Oh god..." Han Yimo's expression changed. "Something's not right. Why is the plot developing so fast? I'm the protagonist, and I haven't even participated in this big battle yet... and it's already started? Where's the buildup? Where's the emotional tension?!"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Xiao Xiao frowned and retorted.
Lin Qiu shook her head beside him and said to Han Yimo, "How haven't you participated? Aren't you participating now?"
"Well... that's true..." Han Yimo paused, then remembered something. "No, that's wrong! If those people attack Bai Hu, it'll drag us into trouble too!!"
"Drag us into trouble...?" Doctor Zhao looked at Han Yimo. "What do you mean?"
"Xuan Wu!!" Han Yimo shouted. "That woman called Xuan Wu seems to be in charge of 'fouls.' Now that these 'Participants' are attacking Bai Hu, doesn't that count as a foul?"
Upon hearing this, Zheng Yingxiong frowned. He could smell the strong scent of "Disaster Invitation."
"Xuan Wu is coming!" Han Yimo exclaimed. "If they don't stop... 'Xuan Wu' will definitely come!!"
