Chapter 961: Assembly of Heroes

In the room, almost all the "Zodiacs" except Earth Horse surged forward and tackled Earth Tiger to the ground.

The table was knocked over, food scattered everywhere, and even two chairs were broken.

Multi-colored hands from various animals covered Earth Tiger's mouth, seemingly trying to suffocate him to death.

Earth Tiger's approach was truly astonishing, stunning everyone so much they didn't know what to do.

Was it better to run now... or to directly rat out Earth Tiger?

"Mmph mmph..." Earth Tiger couldn't breathe, his hands flailing wildly, but none of the others paid him any attention, simply staring blankly at the door.

Although it was an experiment... this experiment was way too audacious.

If Green Dragon was truly angered, everyone's death would happen almost instantly.

Based on everyone's understanding of Green Dragon, he wouldn't even be interested in hearing any pleas for leniency, and would only kill everyone in the room in the shortest possible time.

Other than Earth Tiger's muffled sounds, the only thing filling the room was the thumping of everyone's stunned heartbeats.

Green Dragon possessed "Phase Shift." If he really heard those words... he would probably appear within a second.

The door here would be blown off, and all the "Zodiacs" would vanish into thin air.

But several tens of seconds had already passed... Why hadn't he come yet?

Could he really not hear...?

"Are we... about to become 'ants'?" Earth Pig asked with a sorrowful expression. "The promises we made with our friends... can they never be fulfilled?"

None of the "Zodiacs" paid him any attention, just quietly waited another three minutes, finally realizing that there was indeed no movement at the door.

Not only could they not feel the oppressive pressure of Green Dragon's imminent arrival, even the "Celestial Hound" hadn't been dispatched.

After another moment of silence, everyone slowly removed their hands that had been blocking Earth Tiger's mouth.

"Aiyo! Why are you blocking my mouth?" Earth Tiger hurriedly pushed everyone away. "What did I say?! Their ears are both facing downwards, now do you believe me?"

The "Zodiacs" stood up skeptically. No matter how they thought about it, this matter was somewhat absurd.

Previously, everyone had deduced that "Zodiac killings" were unregulated... Now, directly cursing Green Dragon on the "Train" was also unregulated?

Then what was the purpose of the "Train"? Just to give all the "Zodiacs" a place to live?

Earth Tiger stood up, picked up a chair from the ground, and sat down. "What's everyone so nervous about... I'm the one who said it, so if something happens, I'll be the one to take the punishment."

"Ah..." Earth Dog rubbed his temples. "We're all in this room together after all. Do you think Green Dragon would be so free... as to listen to us explain the whole story before executing us...?"

After speaking, he shook his head, feeling utterly exhausted.

Earth Rat stared at Earth Dog for a moment, then turned his head to look at Earth Tiger. "Chief Tiger, see that? Even the Dog shakes his head at your plan."

"You... not that." Earth Dog frowned slightly. "Who exactly are you insulting with that sentence?"

"Don't worry, I'm not targeting anyone, because what I'm insulting isn't a person." Earth Rat waved his hand, also picking up a chair from the ground. "I just hope our hot-headed Chief Tiger can be more steady. Even the fence-sitters are scared limp."

"Damn it, practice makes perfect!" Earth Tiger shouted loudly. "Otherwise, if we just rely on guesses, can we find the truth by guessing? You all really think I'm Brother Goat?"

"Who the hell would dare to treat you like Brother Goat?!" Black Sheep stood up with a fierce expression. "It's one thing for you to be reckless yourself, but what do you mean by dragging us along to risk our lives?"

"Don't argue... don't argue... my ears are about to explode..." Earth Dog quickly waved his hands. "Can't you all just sit down and talk nicely... I'm so mentally exhausted, what kind of evil possession made me join you guys...?"

The tall Earth Rabbit, seeing the noisy crowd, didn't know what to do for a moment. He could only grab a handful of melon seeds from the floor and walk over to Earth Horse, who had been mostly silent.

"Want some melon seeds...?" Earth Rabbit extended his hand and asked tentatively.

Only when he got closer did Earth Rabbit realize that Earth Horse, despite being female, was about the same height as him, close to 1.9 meters.

Was it due to the influence of the "Horse" trait, or was she naturally this tall?

Earth Horse's right foot was wrapped in thick bandages, but she chose not to sit down, just standing by the wall.

"I don't want any." Earth Horse said coldly. After speaking, she glanced at the bandages on Earth Rabbit's body, then turned her head aside as if she hadn't seen anything.

"Hey... it's really lively in here." Earth Rabbit tried to make conversation again.

"Yeah."

The two then fell silent, just quietly watching the noisy "Zodiacs" in the room.

Earth Rabbit felt like he had some kind of special ability—he could kill any conversation with anyone.

"Lazy Dog!" Earth Pig called out displeased. "What kind of talk is that? What do you mean by 'what kind of evil possession made me join'?! We're partners who have already established bonds! Talking like that is way too 'the fox mourns the hare's death'!"

"What the hell... Is 'the fox mourns the hare's death' used correctly here...?" Earth Dog frowned. "If you have time to be such a chuunibyou, why don't you go read some books?"

"Wait..." Earth Rabbit said while cracking melon seeds. "I don't get it. When you guys chat, why does the 'Rabbit' have to die?"

"What does it have to do with you whether I read books or not?!" Earth Pig, ignoring Earth Rabbit, turned to Earth Dog. "Are you looking for a beating? Talking to me like that?"

After all, all "Earth Grade Zodiacs" were on the same level. In the same room, no one could give orders, so they quickly fell back into a quarrel.

Just as the argument was escalating, a faint and somewhat polite knock sounded at the door.

*Knock knock knock knock knock.*

The noisy crowd suddenly fell silent. The fear of Green Dragon that had just been dispelled now surged back into their hearts.

*Knock knock knock knock knock.*

"Oh, for crying out loud." Earth Tiger's massive head paused slightly. "So it's not that I won't be punished... It's just delayed?"

Earth Rat and Black Sheep exchanged glances, both swallowing hard...

Green Dragon... was actually this polite?

"A real man takes responsibility for his actions!" Earth Tiger growled, walking straight toward the door. "Anyway, whether this team has me or not makes no difference. I'm just eliminating an option for everyone!"

Shaking off everyone's attempts to stop him, he arrived at the wooden door, reached out, and opened it. He held his head high, wearing an expression of righteous defiance.

The next second, a barrage of slaps suddenly flew in from outside the door, all landing on Earth Tiger's massive tiger head.

Although the slaps didn't seem very heavy, they sent Earth Tiger stumbling backward repeatedly.

When everyone finally saw who had entered the door, they all fell silent.

"Didn't I tell you all to keep it down?!"

A sharp female voice shouted at everyone in the room.
