# Chapter 37: The Last Chance
Black holes cannot be directly controlled.
As singularities, due to their excessively massive mass forming event horizons, they completely isolate themselves from the outside world—even light cannot escape.
Moreover, the closer one gets to a black hole, the slower time becomes. Even if a Limit-level expert were thrown within the event horizon and managed to maintain their form without being pulled by the black hole's gravity toward the singularity, merely the time they spent resisting the black hole's gravitational pull would mean that millions or even countless years had passed in the outside world.
It's entirely possible that the universe itself would be destroyed before the individual inside the black hole had time to die.
This isolation, this distortion of time, and this specificity that cannot be described by any conventional laws—black holes cannot be directly controlled, only indirectly influenced. Even someone as powerful as Joshua is no exception.
But this doesn't prevent him from using black holes—those singular, uncontrollable phenomena—as his energy source and, moreover, as a combat method.
At the Eternal Void Anchor Point, at the spiral of black and white contradiction, accompanied by space-time tremors violent enough to shatter stellar structures, a total of fourteen black chaotic shadows and an endless tide of flesh-and-blood creatures still spewing from the teleportation portal descended from beyond the void into the Starry World.
Those were Evil Gods and Ultimate Beings—the moment they descended, the entire area around the Eternal Anchor Point became shrouded in a hazy mist. The aura of Chaos began to erode space-time, gradually transforming the originally stable Starry World into a bizarre otherworld. Including the Stagnation Evil God and its companions, a total of seventeen Evil Gods, though not united, merely by releasing their own power, had already created a small Chaotic Galaxy through their combined might.
Within this galaxy, the boundaries between matter and energy blurred, the definitions of space and time became ambiguous. There were no longer any stable constants, no absolutely insurmountable laws... In this world, what maintained all things was no longer the four fundamental forces or other supernatural powers. The only decisive factor was "Chaos"—"Chaos filled with malice."
This was "Chaos" and its "Evil Gods."
If it were an ordinary Void civilization, let alone facing seventeen Evil Gods, even the swarm of Ultimate Beings still pouring in—each individual at least possessing High-rank Ultimate or even Low-rank Legendary strength—could easily devour their proud worlds and colonies. The combined civilizations of the Starry World, though powerful, could not contend with such a level of force.
However, it was not the civilizations of the Starry World that needed to consider the future now, but rather these Evil Gods and monsters that had just traveled through the portal and still hadn't figured out the situation.
Within the silver world, two black holes orbited each other in an arc. Potent gravitational potential energy was induced and extracted. This power, which could be extracted nearly infinitely before the two black holes evaporated, had already begun to accumulate more than ten seconds earlier. It could be seen that around the silver world—already the size of a red giant and still expanding—a ring of gamma-ray storms had formed. X-rays mixed with the twisting jets from the two black holes, creating an enormous, heliosphere-scale super-halo.
Then, this halo moved.
The silver world began to move—neither hurried nor slow, steady and stable. It moved at a speed that could be considered slow on a cosmic scale, less than one percent of the speed of light, like an old man in his twilight years leaning on a cane, taking a step and then panting. But this was only the silver world's main body. Its halo, its gravitational field, the space-time it could influence—all of these were spreading in all directions simultaneously at the speed of light, vaguely forming a nearly elliptical distorted space in the vacuum.
Near the silver world, there was a star—a massive blue star. It burned fiercely and had fortunately escaped the aftermath of the previous battle, remaining intact. But now, its luck had run out. This star had fallen into Joshua's gravitational field, and so it began to disintegrate. Starting from its corona, all the way to its photosphere, torn stellar matter was pulled into a long accretion cloud, racing toward the core of the silver world.
This process should have taken several tens of minutes, because even light couldn't cross such a vast distance in such a short time. But within the area illuminated by Joshua's radiance, space was stretched and compressed. A gravitationally warped pathway, like the esophagus of some super-massive celestial lifeform, "swallowed" the star's mass. In less than a minute, it had drained an entire star, cleaned it out completely, leaving only a stellar core that didn't even have time to produce a supernova explosion—floating helplessly like a dancing firefly around the black hole engine that had just eaten a snack.
A vast will emerged within the surging space-time currents generated by the dual black holes' counter-rotation. It touched this hot stellar core, which hadn't yet had time to collapse into a neutron star, and began to transform it. Runes were inscribed, supernatural forces began to empower it. Under Joshua's touch, this stellar core was strengthened and enchanted, and then—
The next instant, it was launched.
Space-time was warped, distance was crossed in an instant. The stellar core, now a sub-light-speed projectile, destroyed everything in its path. A long, thin ion cloud became its attack trajectory. The Evil Gods might have noticed this attack, but those Ultimate Beings that seemed to be mere derivatives did not. They had originally intended to fly toward other parts of the universe to find food and destruction targets, but suddenly found themselves unable to move—as if something had grabbed their feet, even pulling them backward.
The projectile arrived—it struck the center of the cluster of Ultimate Beings and Evil Gods.
Then, the inscribed runes activated. Gravity, amplified more than tenfold, enveloped all the Ultimate Beings that couldn't escape at the speed of light, pulling them toward itself at two hundred thousand kilometers per second—and this number was increasing at a terrifying rate. Soon, the pulling speed approached light speed. Hundreds of millions of Ultimate Beings were swept away like bacteria, without even having time to react, most of them annihilated.
The originally aggressive Evil God cluster suddenly halted, then immediately fled in panic. Not that none among them could resist this attack, but they feared the approaching silver world's main body even more than the attack itself. So they tried to flee this star domain, only to find another microcosmic-like psionic collective blocking their path, sealing them within the range of the Void Anchor Point.
At this moment, endless Ultimate Beings were still gushing from the Void Portal—likely tentacles or cells of the Ultimate Sublimation Aggregate, using this Void Anchor Point as a hole to invade this world, like water spurting from a fountain.
But now, a rapidly approaching black sphere happened to block the fountain's mouth. It could be seen that the hot stellar core, which had been exceptionally bright not long ago, had now transformed into a rapidly spinning black well. Terrifying gravitational reactions were pulling everything that fell within its event horizon at light speed into its constantly collapsing, constantly shrinking core. All the Ultimate Beings that had just emerged from the space-time gate were actively "throwing themselves" into this well, as if someone were actively feeding it—it didn't need to lift a finger.
Black Hole Cannon.
Perhaps that could be its name.
The difference from Joshua's previous black hole attacks was that this black hole was not a purely offensive means, but rather indirectly controllable.
"Almost there—assist me, Triple Veil."
Estimating the time, the flying silver world knew that the runic array he had set inside the stellar core should have activated before the core completely collapsed into a black hole, erasing all internal information. The module he had thrown along with the Black Hole Cannon—capable of transmitting information across space-time like a Restorative Pillar—had already activated. He knew that the black hole, which had already pulled out a massive accretion cloud of Ultimate Beings, was slowly moving—moving toward him.
Within the silver world, the black hole engine composed of two black holes was rotating, while in the distance, another black hole was constantly approaching them. At the same time, a second Black Hole Cannon was ready. Another unlucky star had its matter drained, its core inscribed, and was then launched again—suppressing the Void Portal while absorbing the mass of Ultimate Beings to grow.
This attack was repeated a total of six times. Over this long period, the seventeen Evil Gods never managed to cross the defensive line jointly maintained by Joshua and Triple Veil to escape into the endless cosmic space. During this process, six appropriately sized black holes sequentially entered the silver world. They were placed in four different locations alongside the original black hole engine, reassembled into three brand-new black hole engines.
The gravitational interference between the black holes seemed about to tear the silver world apart, but through the precise calculations supported by Triple Veil, Joshua successfully maintained the stability of these four black hole engines, gaining three additional nuclear energy sources.
Originally, Triple Veil wanted to ask why Joshua hadn't used such a powerful attack before—but now, it understood perfectly. This was indeed not a method that could be used under normal circumstances.
If a person eats too much, they'll burst. Even super-lifeforms like them were no exception. Unlimited devouring and control didn't exist. When a black hole's mass exceeded a certain limit, it could no longer be controlled by Joshua as an engine component. And when the number of black hole engines increased, if one couldn't calculate the various consequences of their mutual interference, then Joshua—who couldn't precisely fine-tune gravity—would absolutely be devoured by the black holes' backlash. Ultimately, multiple black holes would merge into one, becoming a large black hole that would completely consume him.
Normally, one black hole engine was completely sufficient. Creating a second required constantly destroying celestial bodies between stars. This destruction was something Joshua tried his utmost to avoid. He deeply understood that if he lost control even slightly, the destruction he would cause would be far more terrifying than any Evil God. Only when facing endless enemies could he use Black Hole Cannons to destroy them and strengthen himself.
If not for the impending arrival of an even more powerful and terrifying existence, Joshua would never do this—after all, if he could kill with his fists, why use such a dangerous method?
Of course, this didn't mean that Joshua had no fists now.
It could be seen that the silver world, due to the black holes, was no longer a regular sphere. The four directions where the four black hole engines were located protruded slightly, like four fists of a giant. These gravitational giant fists, carrying immensely powerful gravitational fields, merely by swinging lightly, could tear the surrounding space-time, creating a spatial groove nearly a hundred million kilometers long, shattering and heavily injuring Evil Gods that couldn't dodge in time. Even Evil Gods attempting to escape through informationization couldn't avoid it—their information streams and Chaos carriers were all sucked into the black holes, evaporating into meaningless cosmic radiation.
—A hundred martial arts, this is the Black Hole Fist!
Originally, even a single Evil God could make countless civilizations tremble in fear, regarded as an irresistible natural disaster. But now, facing the well-prepared Triple Veil and Joshua, they were being driven like a flock of sheep, fleeing in all directions... This wasn't to say they were weak. Their abilities and absolute energy levels were terrifyingly powerful. Whether destroying stars or annihilating worlds, they had no problem. If they had full preparation, all their minions present, and were at their peak, even if they still couldn't defeat Joshua and his companion, they could at least put up a decent fight.
But now, the strong and the weak were clearly distinguished—no need for further words.
Joshua chased these Evil Gods. To be honest, even with his willpower, he felt somewhat dazed. Not long ago, the Famine Evil God that had destroyed the Carlis civilization had been eliminated by him. And the others, which had threatened countless civilizations, were also being chased like a fleeing flock of sheep.
Unknowingly, he had grown to this level. If he were to encounter the Decay Evil God again—the one he had faced when it was just unsealed, when he had to treat it with utmost seriousness—he would probably only need to "swallow" to directly devour it.
—Next time I return, I should tell Steel Serpent Carlis and Number 3 this good news... I have fulfilled my promise and completely annihilated the Famine Evil God.
Thinking this, Joshua closed this thread of thought. Next, he would go all out to chase these Evil Gods. After eliminating them, he would accelerate the destruction of this Eternal Void Anchor Point, completely stopping the Ultimate Sublimation Aggregate's invasion of the Starry World.
But the next instant, his chasing movement suddenly halted. Within the silver world, the warrior's will turned in shock.
It was a voice.
A voice that had crossed an unimaginably vast distance and space-time, directly transmitting into the depths of his ultimate Transcendent Being's heart.
It was also the voice he had heard before, outside the Starry World in the void—the voice that said the light at the end of the Magic Tide was the First Flame.
"This is the final war, and also the last chance."
This voice had no joy or sorrow, no emotion. It was not any language, nor any kind of cry. Rather than a "voice," it was more like a stone tablet engraved in the mind—objective, pure, containing information, but containing nothing beyond information.
This voice also transmitted to Triple Veil. The psionic collective immediately communicated with Joshua. They discovered that the information conveyed by this voice was completely consistent.
And at this moment, at the Eternal Void Anchor Point, Ultimate Beings had, at some point, stopped emerging from it.
In their place was an extremely fine, extremely inconspicuous beam—so fine that without atomic-level dynamic vision, it would be impossible to detect—a nearly one-dimensional beam of light. And the Eternal Void Anchor Point, which could easily teleport Evil Gods and countless Ultimate Beings, was struggling immensely to transmit this single beam of light, as if something extraordinarily massive behind it was trying to squeeze into this world but was firmly stuck.
No, rather than a beam of light, it was more like a white ribbon...
A white, light-like, thread.
And at this moment, time continued.
"Time has been too long. We should be the last batch of individuals capable of exploring the First Flame through the Magic Tide Path. After us, all the Multiverse Star Rivers will be completely cut off from the source—the Magic Tide still exists, but it can no longer serve as a guide for us to cross that infinitely vast Void Forbidden Zone."
Joshua and Triple Veil heard this voice.
At the Multiverse Star River, the silent super-nebula lifeform, the individual controlling infinite psionic divine power, also heard this voice. Other ultimate Transcendent Beings all listened attentively.
Gods heard it. Powerful Legendary-rank experts heard it. Throughout the Multiverse Star River, multiple Multiverse Star Rivers, the entire Multiverse—wherever Ultimate Beings appeared, all lifeforms exceeding a certain threshold, like radios receiving signals, heard this voice.
It spoke thus, without a trace of deception.
"We are the final ones, the last ones. After this, there will be no future and no hope."
—Therefore.
I must succeed.
No matter what price I pay, no matter how many things I destroy, I must inevitably sublimate, evolve, and grow to surpass the limit, to reach the realm of 'infinity.'
Transcending Chaos and Evil Gods, surpassing evil and demonic nature—the purest algorithm of desire within the intelligent mind is thus revealed.
Only my beast descends and manifests.
