Chapter 30: Not Reinforcements

The Bottomless Abyss, among the countless civilizations and races of the multiverse, has many different names.
It is sometimes called the Demon Realm, sometimes Hell, or the God-Forsaken Land, the Barren Court... But no matter the name, it is inextricably linked to negative connotations. Except for a few races that have already gone mad, the vast majority of civilizations, even if they don't understand it, will subconsciously reject anything related to it.
Because it is the graveyard of the multiverse, the place where the embers of extinguished fires are piled up.
The Bottomless Abyss is endless, but the deeper the abyss, the earlier the flames were extinguished. Legend has it that at the very bottom of the abyss lies the wreckage of the first world destroyed in the multiverse, which is also the first layer of the abyss itself.
The Sixth Abyss, the Molten Sea Hellfire, a recently risen abyss within the last few thousand years, is a powerful world known even throughout the entire known abyss. Based on lesser demons, the demon population living within it exceeds one hundred and ninety million, and the number of magical beasts is ten times that.
Abyss Lord Goliath is a powerful demon whose might is known across dozens of worlds. His name is fearfully called 'The Glutton,' 'The World Devourer,' 'The Soul-Hunting Great Demon,' 'The Greedy Demon King' by many races. This unprecedented powerful demon unified several layers of the abyss and commands five Demon Lords who stand at the pinnacle of demonic hierarchy. But now, this mighty Abyss Lord was actually forced to retreat by a single ancient dragon, and even had to send out a distress signal to the other layers of the abyss.
The other four Demon Lords under Goliath's command had already received the message. The fastest to arrive was the Insect Demon Lord Saruka, who led the Lava Legion to the Sixth Abyss. However, what greeted him was not the ancient dragon that had been severely wounded, but a chaotic scene of melee.
The Five-Colored Dragon King, the Void Behemoth, the Golden Fleet of the Star God... all sorts of beings that were either incredibly powerful or twisted beyond recognition had appeared around this world. But because the four most powerful factions were confronting each other, most of the forces that knew their own strength was insufficient wisely turned and left.
"The Lava Legion of the Abyss Demons?" "Void Behemoths!" "Heavens, it's a Leviathan... What are those, they look like dragons, but why are they so huge?!" "The Star God's Golden Fleet, weren't they supposed to be sealed away?!" "Our apologies, we'll leave now."
Many forces came and went, and the four major factions remained in a standoff. They stayed calm and did not immediately start a full-scale battle, because who knew if their true goal wasn't to defeat the enemy, but to obtain the power of the ancient dragon... If they eliminated an opponent and exhausted most of their strength, only to fail because they couldn't defeat the dragon, it would be the most foolish thing imaginable. The ancient dragon, still lurking in the world, was probably thinking the same thing, waiting for these enemies who came for it to fight amongst themselves, giving it time to recover its strength.
"There's more?!"
In the center of the Lava Fleet, aboard the mothership, Saruka's entire body steamed with thick, almost materialized black miasma. The desperate screams and howls of countless lives on the verge of death echoed within it. The Insect Demon Lord's carapace was tightly wrinkled all over. Originally considered relatively calm among demons, it could barely suppress its own destructive urges. But suddenly, Saruka's compound eyes flashed with red light, and it calmed down again: "Wait, this aura..."
The Insect Demon Lord sensed a fierce, scorching will, containing immense destructive desire, rapidly advancing through the void. A thick aura of death mixed with bloodlust, as if its owner had just slaughtered millions of lives. The desperate breath of soul-wailing mixed with the scent of blood, emitting the most intoxicating smell for demons. Saruka's spirit immediately lifted. It thought this must be the Third Legion coming to reinforce them. Only the Eye Demon Lord Haier Mu, who had just conquered a world, would carry such a fresh aura of destruction.
Almost there, it's here. Saruka watched the void expectantly. Although the five Demon Lords under Goliath were not familiar with each other on a daily basis, and rarely met due to tedious conquest tasks, it would never mistake this kind of kindred aura. As the Insect Demon Lord's gaze focused, in the middle of the four major factions, the void was twisting, proving that some powerful existence behind it was stirring the space-time turbulence and rushing over. Not only the demons, but also the Five-Colored Dragon King, the Void Behemoth, and the Golden Fleet all turned their gazes and observation devices in this direction. They all sensed that the incoming being was no weaker than them.
But, why is it so small?
Before anyone could figure out this question, the void had twisted to its extreme. The being was about to enter their field of vision. It was about to arrive.
"With two legions joining forces, although we can't drive away the other three factions, we can definitely seize the initiative!"
Saruka couldn't help but feel a little excited. Although the demons were powerful, the other factions were not weak either. Not all civilizations in all worlds would allow the Abyss to invade. Some could even defeat the demon armies head-on, inflicting heavy losses. But that was mostly the case for a single legion. The concept of two legions joining forces versus one fighting alone was completely different.
Sensing that thick aura of destruction rapidly approaching, Saruka's heart grew more and more joyful. It had already planned its next move: first, suppress the Five-Colored Dragon King, who only brought a bunch of cannon fodder. Those two were powerful, but their dragon subordinates had long been wiped out by the Church of the Seven Gods of the Mycroft World, making them leaders without an army. Then, pressure the Void Behemoth. Others feared the Void Behemoth would retaliate in the future, spreading spores of twisted life to their worlds, but the demons weren't afraid at all, and even welcomed it. As for that mysterious Golden Fleet, with so few members, ignoring them wouldn't matter.
The twisting ended. The being revealed its true form. The Insect Demon Lord excitedly looked over, expecting to see the Lava Fleet sailing in at high speed.
But what appeared in Saruka's eyes was a small, white airship.
It had arrived.
