Chapter 47: Concerns
The Sixth Abyss, long absent, was once again shrouded in smoke and dust.
As two colossal wills descended across the boundary, a foul, acidic wind swept across the pitch-black acidic sky of the Sea of Molten Fire. It brushed across the land, causing large swaths of black veil-like dust to rise from the ground, casting the surface into gloom. This haze of ash, formed from countless corpses burned by flames over millennia, rose with the high-temperature steam surging from the earth, then condensed into wet droplets of mud—whether rain or sludge—that fell back to the ground.
Countless Abyss Mud Monsters writhed in excitement, cheering and praising the Abyss Lord who had brought all this down. But more demons and monsters frantically sought shelter from the mud, whose corrosive power rivaled strong acid. Under this dramatic shift in celestial phenomena, the entire Sixth Abyss was thrown into turmoil. They stared nervously at the center of the Abyss, at the hanging fortress of the Valley of Tears... He was definitely looking for us, who had gone missing."
As for why that Black Dragon instinctively ran in their direction, it was naturally easy to understand—the entire Writhing Forest bore the traces of the Ancient Dragon, and a Black Dragon that had awakened a portion of its Ancient Dragon bloodline would naturally instinctively move toward familiar territory.
"...*****!" Muttering a curse under his breath, the old mage Baniel stomped his foot in midair to vent his frustration. In an incredulous and bewildered tone, he said, "I thought it was a civil war among demons—how could it be that guy?! This is the Abyss!"
How could anyone cause such a commotion in the Abyss and even fight a Demon Lord?! Did he treat the Abyss like his own home? Was this Joshua here to find people or to kill demons?!
