Chapter 11: You Are Late

It goes live at noon today. The author’s note should probably be written in a more sentimental tone… but honestly, that’s not necessary. I think begging for money is the most fitting approach.

Yeah, dear readers, to be honest, I, Yin Tian Shen Yin, have been really short on cash lately because of moving. Since I’d rather not starve to death on the street, please, do subscribe!

Every single subscription determines whether I can afford noodles with meat and vermicelli, and whether I can add soy sauce to my rice. So this is a big deal—don’t ever think, “Oh, missing one subscription from me won’t matter”! And to those of you who are waiting for more chapters to pile up, remember to at least give me the first subscription. A full subscription is true love!

Begging done. Now, let me share my feelings.

I, Yin Tian Shen Yin, have been writing books for five years. I’m a total failure whose books couldn’t even earn back the postage for the contract (this one might be an exception). Despite that, I still code words every day without getting tired of it. It’s like I’m drinking Harbin Beer and can’t stop. When I think about it, it’s like I’m addicted. This crappy website is wasting my life, yet I can’t control myself. (Writing this makes me angry. The damn background system never works, and I have to wait over an hour just to post a chapter.)

Although I tell others that I write to show the world in my heart and fulfill my dreams, to be honest, it’s all driven by a sense of injustice—dear readers, you should know that when you read a lot, you naturally come across plots you dislike. All kinds of inexplicable, self-indulgent, minor toxic points make you feel uncomfortable and annoyed.

I feel the same way, and I write books to vent that discomfort.

I’m annoyed. I’m annoyed that when humanity faces a great enemy, they still scheme against each other and fight internally.

I’m annoyed. I’m annoyed that everyone in the world is blind, unable to see the protagonist’s abilities, and just mindlessly slap faces.

I’m annoyed. I’m annoyed that everyone in the world has no sense of responsibility, acting only for profit and leaving for profit.

I don’t like sanctimonious do-gooders, and I don’t like cheap sluts. I don’t want to be a mindless helper, and I despise cowards who won’t even lend a hand!

I believe that a real man fights when he wants to fight. There’s no need to use some grand cause as an excuse. If you want to fight, just throw a punch.

Be straightforward. Don’t play tricks. Reject clichés. Let the world have some sincerity—face each other openly, swords drawn. That’s the true nature of a man.

Of course, while the above is indeed one reason I wrote this book, the main reason is that the book Amber Sword keeps going on hiatus. That author, Pneumonia, doesn’t update, so I have to do it myself. Damn it, he’s been on hiatus from May until now. How shameless is that?!

Looking at the game-based otherworld genre, there are a bunch of protagonists who are mages, thieves, or rangers. I’m not saying I dislike mages shooting spells, and I usually enjoy playing stealthy heroes in games, but honestly, friends, there are too few warriors. Even if there’s no hardcore warrior style with blood and fists, at least give me a Sword Saint who can use Blade Storm.

Since there’s none, I have to step up and save the warrior faction that’s fallen into the abyss of failure!

So, dear readers, even if it’s just for the bold words I just said, at least give me some face. Give me more first subscriptions, trick the editors into giving me more recommendations, and let this rare warrior-themed story survive!

I’ll definitely add extra chapters after going live. As for how many, I can’t say. Even if I can’t write them all, I’ll owe them. I’ll pay them back one day!

Quick, click subscribe and don’t stop!

Finally, I want to thank my editor, Loach. Even though I’m trash, he still stuffed me with so many recommendations. Every Friday, he scared me so much that I almost crushed the thermos in my hand.

Thanks to all the generous patrons who tipped. There are too many to list, so I’ll just mention the top ten. It’s all your support that gives me the motivation to keep writing!

Thanks to Domestic Hero Ying Qi Qi, True Flame Tyrant, Violet 01, Shen Meng Xuan, Old Man Mao, Lazy Ying Long, Little Bookworm, Zi Zi Wei Wei, and Sa Er’s Troubles. Your support is my greatest motivation!

Alright, no more nonsense. I’m off to code words. I hope you all give me a surprise, and I’ll definitely give you one too!
