Chapter 51: Let's Go, to the Battlefield

Starfall Year 833, June 20th.
Northern Empire, Three Mountains Holy City, early morning.

A long wind swept across the empire's central, deep green great plains and lush mountain ranges, all the way to the land surrounded by the three mountains. It brought a hint of grass and wood fragrance to the dry and warm air of the imperial capital's streets. Coupled with the bright sunlight, it lifted the spirits of the early-rising residents, who sighed with appreciation for this beautiful day.

And in the city center, within a guest room of the Morlai Palace, a black-clad warrior stood by the window, gazing up at the flowing clouds in the azure sky.

Joshua had long since awakened.

Yesterday, after the warrior left the Royal Study, he was led by an attendant to a guest room originally prepared for ambassadors from various countries. Joshua had originally planned to find a random inn in the imperial capital, waiting for Ying, Lin, and Black to arrive the next day before departing. But since Israel extended the invitation, he simply took the opportunity to stay here.

Throughout the night, he had organized a portion of the intelligence regarding the Far South.

In his past life, at this time in the Far South, the Dragon Calamity had not yet begun. In Joshua's memory, the first mad dragon siege of his previous life occurred in the spring of Starfall Year 834, with the full-scale war not starting until mid-summer of the same year. From this perspective, it seemed that due to the lack of player interference and the warrior's alteration of the future, the Dragon Calamity in this world had been advanced by roughly a year.

So, from now on, any memory concerning the situation of that era was meaningless. A single year was enough to change anything.

Of course, some major trends would not change. For instance, the ones controlling the mad dragons were the Five-Colored Dragon Clan, and the ones instigating the Five-Colored Dragon Clan from behind were, without a doubt, the Plague Evil God and its followers.

For the mad dragons to conquer the Far South and spread across the entire continent, there were two insurmountable barriers. The first was the Central Defense Line of the Far South Kingdom, and the second was the Far Sea Holy Mountain of the Church of the Seven Gods.

The Central Defense Line held firm against prolonged assault, so the mad dragons shifted their target, preparing to attack the Church of the Seven Gods. The Holy Mountain side was naturally aware of this. Unlike in his past life, they did not seem to be preparing for a passive, defensive siege. Instead, they were inviting allies from all sides, apparently intending to take the initiative and do something to halt the mad dragons' offensive.

Joshua was one such invited helper.

From the high window of the palace, looking down at the city districts of the imperial capital, Joshua gazed upon the noble mansions and common citizens' residences below, at the patches of black and red tiled roofs. "It's yours now," he said.
