Chapter 47: Hovering Warship

Year 833 of the Falling Stars Era, June 20th.

Northern Empire, Three Mountains Holy City, early morning.

A long wind swept across the deep green great plains and verdant mountain ranges at the center of the empire, reaching the land surrounded by three mountains. It carried the dry, warm air of the imperial capital's streets, mixed with a hint of the fragrance of grass and trees. Coupled with the bright sunlight, it lifted the spirits of the early-rising citizens, who sighed in appreciation of this beautiful day.

In a guest room within Morlai Palace at the city center, a black-haired warrior stood by the window, gazing up at the flowing clouds drifting across the azure sky.

Joshua had already awakened.

Yesterday, after leaving the Royal Study, the warrior was led by an attendant to a guest room originally prepared for ambassadors from various nations. Joshua had originally planned to find an inn in the imperial capital and wait for Ying, Lin, and Black to arrive the next day before setting out. But since Israel extended the invitation, he simply took the opportunity to stay here.

During the night, he had organized a portion of the intelligence regarding the Far South region.

In his previous life, at this time in the Far South, the Dragon Calamity had not yet begun. In Joshua's memory, the first incident of a mad dragon attacking a city in his past life occurred in the spring of the year 834 of the Falling Stars Era, with the full-scale war not starting until the midsummer of the same year. From this perspective, it seemed that due to the absence of player interference and the warrior's changes to the future, the Dragon Calamity in this world had been advanced by roughly over a year.

Thus, from now on, any memories concerning the situation of that era were meaningless. A single year was enough to change anything.

Of course, some major trends would not change. For instance, the ones controlling the mad dragons were the Five-Colored Dragon Clan, and the ones instigating the Five-Colored Dragon Clan from behind were, without a doubt, the Plague Evil God and its followers.

For the mad dragons to conquer the Far South and spread across the entire continent, there were two insurmountable barriers. The first was the Central Defense Line of the Far South Kingdom, and the second was the Far Sea Holy Mountain of the Church of the Seven Gods.

The Central Defense Line had been under siege for a long time without falling, so the mad dragons shifted their target, preparing to attack the Church of the Seven Gods. The Holy Mountain side was naturally aware of this. They did not seem to intend to passively hold their ground and resist, as they had in his previous life. Instead, they were inviting allied forces from all directions, seemingly planning to take the initiative and do something to halt the mad dragons' offensive.

Joshua was one such invited helper.

From the high window of the palace, looking down at the city districts of the imperial capital, Joshua gazed upon the mansions of nobles and the residences of citizens below—the patches of black and red tiled rooftops. "It is yours."
