Chapter 63: The Big One
Year 831 of the Falling Stars Era, December 21st, 11:00 AM.
This was the third week of the Black Tide's siege on the Moldova Fortress. The overcast clouds had dispersed, and the blizzard had receded. Although it was noon, the sky remained pitch black—
Deep within the distant Central Black Forest, the biting northern wind surged alongside a turbulent tide of magical energy. The pillar of light that had risen from the forest's depths had now transformed into a massive, swirling vortex of chaotic power. It was a Space-Time Gate, and within it, a colossal silhouette was slowly taking shape.
"Tch, they're sending in the big guns."
The black-haired warrior, suspended in midair, narrowed his eyes as he gazed at the enormous figure emerging from the spatial rift. A faint, sharp light flickered in his gaze.
This aura... it was definitely a Wild God, and not just any ordinary one. It was at least a high-tier Legendary-level existence, possibly even a peak Legendary. This was a monster that could single-handedly raze an entire kingdom.
"Damn it, this is way too familiar."
The warrior clicked his tongue in annoyance. This tactic was all too reminiscent of fighting Abyss Demons back in the day. Whenever they encountered unexpected resistance, they would abandon teleporting weak cannon fodder and instead send in a powerful unit to turn the tide.
The only difference this time was that the thing being sent over was just a bit *too* powerful.
"..."
The Divine Mechanism girl remained silent. Without needing the warrior to say a word, Ying could already see through her reconnaissance core the colossal monster slowly emerging from the Space-Time Gate. Its overwhelming chaotic aura surged forth with a force that threatened to drown the entire world, leaving her stunned and speechless.
Was this kind of monster really something she could resist? Something her master could resist?
Of course... not.
No matter how confident Joshua was, he couldn't claim that, at the Mid-Gold Rank, he could beat this Wild God that clearly surpassed him by more than a full major realm. Only a fool would think they could manage it, and such people never lived past the first episode.
"This is a real headache."
The warrior hovered in midair, watching the scene unfold as he pondered countermeasures in his mind.
If it really did manage to teleport through, it would be a genuine catastrophe of epic proportions... However, there was no need for despair just yet. Right now, the Wild God was in the middle of being transported and couldn't fight back. That meant, as long as they could quickly destroy the Space-Time Gate, no matter how overwhelmingly powerful this monster was, it would have no choice but to be forced back in humiliation.
And destroying Space-Time Gates... well, sorry to say, but that was right up Master Joshua's alley!
Just as the warrior was observing the operational nodes of the chaotic Space-Time Gate, a deep cyan streak of light shot up from the Black Forest not far away, arcing through the air to arrive at Joshua's side.
