Chapter 33: The Bula Tribe

"Breyer, you have a dark-type divine clone?" William, the commander of the Black Tortoise Army, said in shock. Linley glanced at William with a faint smile and said, "William, as the commander of the Black Tortoise Army, your intelligence gathering is quite inaccurate. You didn't even know that Breyer has a dark-type divine clone."

"Sovereign, this is my negligence." William quickly bowed.

Breyer also bowed and said, "Sovereign, aside from those present here, no more than five people know that I possess a dark-type divine clone. It has indeed been a secret. But now that I am your divine emissary, this secret naturally won't be hidden."

Linley nodded with a smile. "How far is your divine clone from here? How long will it take to fly here?"

"Not too far, about ten days," Breyer replied.

"Hey, kid, you make it sound so easy. You want us to wait ten days for you?" Bebe suddenly glared.

"Well..." Breyer gave an awkward smile and glanced at Linley. "It would take me ten days, but if the Sovereign helps, it might only take a moment." Although Breyer didn't know much about Sovereigns, he understood how astonishing their speed was.

Linley shook his head with a laugh. "Let's set off! Breyer, just guide the way to your divine clone."

"Yes, Sovereign! My divine clone is to the northeast." Breyer quickly pointed the direction, then turned to look at the distant green-robed man, his friend Gonsala, and sent a divine sense message: "Brother Gonsala, I'm leaving with the Sovereign now. We'll meet again when we have the chance."

"Breyer, congratulations," Gonsala said from afar, watching Linley and his group, feeling happy for his friend.

"Let's go!" Linley said with a smile.

As he spoke, a surge of earth-type Sovereign power spread out, enveloping everyone present.

"Whoosh!" They transformed into a flash of earthy yellow light and vanished into the sky in an instant.

Gonsala looked up, watching the light disappear, and sighed with emotion: "Earlier, Breyer and I were still sparring together. Who would have thought that in the blink of an eye, he'd become a Sovereign's emissary?" He glanced at the surrounding grassland and smiled. "Good thing Breyer finished that magic array a few days ago."

During this time, Breyer had been staying with Gonsala, primarily to set up a magic array for him.

The principles of magic arrays were different from the seven laws and four rules.

They belonged to a very special field. Studying magic arrays required immense patience and talent in that area, with high demands on calculation, deduction, and resonance with the natural world. Whether in the Infernal Realm or other higher planes, or in the seven divine planes, magic array masters held extremely high status.

Back when Linley first entered the Infernal Realm and took the demon trial, the castle they entered contained a large magic array that tested one's own strength.

"From today on, there shouldn't be many people bothering me," Gonsala said with a smile as he activated the magic array.

"Buzz—"

A hazy light rose within a radius of nearly ten miles, then faded. The scene within those ten miles changed instantly. The lake and buildings disappeared, replaced by ordinary grassland.

Clearly, this was a powerful illusionary magic array.

Linley himself didn't yet know that he had gained a magic array master as his emissary.

The world stretched out in vast desolation.

Linley and his group sped through the high sky at incredible speed. Linley frowned and glanced at Breyer, then spoke: "Breyer, where exactly is your divine clone?"

"It's right ahead. We're almost there," Breyer replied.

"Right here, Sovereign. You can stop," Breyer quickly said.

Linley stopped with a frown. This place was nearly a hundred million miles from the earlier grassland. For Linley, covering a hundred million miles only took a few words' worth of time.

"Are you sure it's here?" Linley couldn't help but look at him again.

"Yes, my divine clone is coming," Breyer said, smiling as he looked into the distance.

Linley also looked into the distance. In the far-off sky, there were several groups traveling by metallic lifeforms, as well as a few individuals moving alone. What surprised Linley the most was that he couldn't sense anyone with the same aura as Breyer anywhere nearby.

"Here it comes," Breyer said with a laugh.

Sure enough—

A figure was flying toward them at top speed. The newcomer wore a black robe, was about the same height as Breyer, and a hint of murderous intent flickered in his eyes from time to time. As the figure approached, he immediately bowed: "Dark Breyer pays respects to the Sovereign!"

Silence!

Whether it was the other Sovereign's emissaries, Commander William, Bebe, or even Linley himself—they were all stunned!

"You two... are the same person?" Linley asked in disbelief, sweeping his gaze over the two figures.

The white-robed Breyer had a warm, approachable smile that made people like him.

The black-robed Breyer, on the other hand, exuded an aura of evil.

Most importantly—their soul auras were different!

According to common knowledge, when one becomes a god and splits their soul, the two halves of the soul are identical. Memories, emotions, and everything else are exactly the same. Logically, different divine clones should have the same temperament and thoughts.

"Sovereign, he and I truly are one person," the white-robed Breyer said respectfully.

"To be precise, we were one person a hundred million years ago," the black-robed Breyer said, glancing at the white-robed Breyer.

Bebe looked at the black-robed and white-robed Breyer, then turned to Linley and sent a mental message: "Boss, what's going on? They're the same person?"

"Breyer, you two..." Linley scanned the two before him. "Are you really one person? What proof do you have?"

The white-robed Breyer looked at the black-robed Breyer and said, "Let's merge once."

"I really don't want to merge with you," the black-robed Breyer replied.

Then, the white-robed and black-robed Breyer moved closer to each other, their bodies fusing together until they became one person—Breyer!

"They really are one person," Linley said, utterly stunned.

Only the same person could truly merge into one.

The strangest part was that after they merged, the soul aura of the combined person changed. It was completely different from the pure, gentle soul aura of the white-robed Breyer and the violent, mad soul aura of the black-robed Breyer.

It was mixed, yet strangely unified.

"Can you tell me what's going on?" Linley asked, looking at Breyer with confusion.

Breyer glanced at the others around him, then bowed and said, "Reporting to the Sovereign, I, Breyer... as you've probably noticed, I am not of an ordinary race."

Linley nodded slightly.

His body was so powerful that he could withstand attacks from Seven Star Fiend-level experts. How could an ordinary person have such physical strength? And when Breyer transformed, his muscles bulged, his skin showed a mix of cyan and white patterns like snake scales, and especially the two antennae on his forehead.

All of this indicated that Breyer was no ordinary race.

"I am a member of the ancient Bula Tribe!" Breyer said respectfully.

"The Bula Tribe?" Linley frowned.

"Yes, Sovereign," Breyer replied respectfully. "Our Bula Tribe's innate talent is no weaker than that of divine beasts!"

Linley knew that the universe was filled with many unique beings, many of which had innate divine abilities.

For example, the Amethyst Mountains gave birth to the Amethyst Sovereign, the Netherworld Sea in the Underworld produced the first plant life, the Death Overlord, and the first life in the Infernal Realm, the Destruction Overlord... These were all extraordinary beings. Generally, every material plane gave birth to one or two divine beasts or special existences.

The Yulan Plane gave birth to the Soul Devouring Rat.

Other planes had their share as well, though their fates differed. Some had great talent but achieved little.

"Although our Bula Tribe is strong, we have no innate divine abilities!" Breyer added.

"No innate divine abilities?" Bebe couldn't help but ask in confusion.

A race that powerful should have had innate divine abilities.

"The heavens are fair. We have no innate divine abilities. However, we possess an innate talent ability," Breyer said with a smile. "Every Bula Tribe member, from the time they can remember, knows a secret technique—to undergo a soul transformation, splitting one person into two."

"Transformation?" Linley frowned.

"Yes, transformation!" Breyer nodded. "Every intelligent life form has flaws in their personality! They have weaknesses! For example, I love studying magic arrays. I want to immerse myself completely in that study. But deep in my heart, I also have other desires—women, power, and so on. All these desires prevent me from focusing entirely on magic arrays."

Linley nodded.

He himself couldn't cultivate without rest. Usually, Linley had five clones, with four cultivating and one resting.

"We Bula Tribe members can split our personalities, desires, and thoughts into two distinct categories. We gather what we want and cast aside the greed and evil we don't want. Then, we undergo a soul transformation, splitting the soul into two. After that, the body also splits into two!" Breyer explained with a smile. "For example, one of my bodies is calm and peaceful, allowing me to fully immerse myself in magic array research. My other soul, however, is filled with all kinds of desires—to kill, to fight, and so on."

"The two souls don't interfere with each other," Breyer continued with a smile. "And because they go to extremes, my strength naturally breaks through as well."

Linley was completely stunned by what he heard.

This essentially turned one person into two, separating their personality, thoughts, and many other aspects.

There was a saying that every person has a demon inside them. Even the most noble person has violent tendencies deep in their soul, but they control themselves and don't show it.

The Bula Tribe, however, could actually separate these two aspects.

"A person's soul is very complex! When life is born, the soul naturally appears. As experiences change, a person's thoughts, desires, and so on gradually shift, and the soul aura also undergoes subtle changes," Breyer said with a faint smile. "Of course, the changes aren't too drastic. After all, the fundamental essence of the soul is fixed at birth."

Linley nodded.

He understood this himself. The young Linley and the current Linley had changed somewhat. Although others could recognize Linley at a glance, they could also sense his transformation.

"When one becomes a god, the soul splits in two. That is simply the soul dividing itself, with no change in thoughts or desires. To be precise, divine clones are still the same person, with identical thoughts," Breyer said with a smile. "But our Bula Tribe is different. My two bodies have completely different thoughts, desires, and personalities! They are at two extremes. Naturally, the soul aura also changes."

As he spoke, Breyer's body split again, becoming the white-robed and black-robed Breyer.

"The two of us, when together, might even fight each other because of differing opinions and actions," the white-robed Breyer said, looking at Linley with a smile. "Sovereign, can you imagine that?"

"Unique, unbelievable!" Linley exclaimed in amazement.

The universe and nature were truly wondrous, giving birth to such a race. Although they had no innate divine abilities, they were granted this unique innate talent.

"How many members of the Bula Tribe are there?" Linley couldn't help but ask.

"Very, very few," the white-robed Breyer said, shaking his head. "Over all these years, I've only encountered three. We Bula Tribe members can easily recognize each other when we meet."

"So few?" Bebe chuckled. "Then finding a Bula woman to have children with must be really hard, huh?"

The white-robed Breyer was taken aback, then shook his head with a smile: "We Bula Tribe members actually have no distinction between male and female. Whether we take a male or female form is entirely up to us. When we have children, it's actually quite simple. We sacrifice ourselves, consuming our life force, and spit out an egg. After spitting out the egg, we soon die, and the child is born."

To give birth, one must first die.

Linley and Bebe exchanged a glance and couldn't help but sigh. The Bula Tribe was truly peculiar.
