Chapter 28: The Action Begins

One month later, in the Hell of the Highest Plane, Blood Peak Continent, Azure Prefecture, Sky Sacrifice Mountain Range.

“Haha…” A toddler of two or three years old was happily running on the grass, with Hogg and Lina beside him, playing with the child.

Linley, Wharton, and Bebe sat together, watching this scene from afar.

“Big brother, look at Father… ever since Mother came back, he’s been much happier,” Wharton said with a smile. “In the past, although Father was occasionally happy to see us, he was always thinking about Mother, and he seemed somewhat dispirited. Now it’s much better.”

“It is better.” Linley also smiled and sighed in agreement.

It had been a month since Mother Lina returned. During this time, the greatest progress had been in the relationship between Mother and Father.

Lina subconsciously trusted Hogg, and naturally, as they interacted, their relationship progressed smoothly, as if it were meant to be.

However, Lina’s acceptance of Linley and Wharton was noticeably more difficult. Although she often smiled at Linley and Wharton and their relationship had grown closer, her attitude towards them was clearly not the same as towards Hogg. Perhaps it was because when Lina died in her previous life, Linley was only a four-year-old child, and Wharton was just a baby.

Subconsciously, Lina had no image of Linley and Wharton as adults.

“In a while, Father will take Mother back to the Yulan Continent. Then, when she sees Mount Wushan and our old home, Mother might remember something,” Wharton said. Because of Linley’s special status on the Yulan Continent, the ancestral home of the family had been kept in excellent condition all these years.

“Then, I’ll go back with Father and Mother,” Linley said with a faint smile. “I also need to start creating the Wind Divine Plane.”

“Boss, I’m coming too,” Bebe quickly said. “I really want to see you create a Divine Plane.”

“I’m only sending my Wind-type Sovereign clone back. My other clones aren’t going,” Linley said with a smile.

Just then, Linley couldn’t help but look up, his heart stirring. “Parsh is here?”

Linley’s divine sense detected that the Blood Peak Sovereign was heading this way.

“You stay here. I’ll go back to my residence first,” Linley said. With a flicker of movement, he arrived at the courtyard where he usually trained. Even the maids were not allowed to enter Linley’s residence without permission.

Linley sat down at the stone table. Moments later, a figure in a blood-red robe descended from the sky. It was the Blood Peak Sovereign, Parsh.

“Parsh, please, have a seat,” Linley said with a smile.

“Linley, this is only the second time I’ve come to see you in just a month or two,” the Blood Peak Sovereign laughed. “By the way, last time we talked about the Tenth Planar War, you seemed to run into some trouble. Have you resolved it now?” Back then, Linley’s face had suddenly turned ugly, and he had lost his composure. The Blood Peak Sovereign had naturally noticed this. That was why he hadn’t finalized the deal and had left immediately.

“Sorry. I did run into some trouble last time,” Linley said with a smile, reaching out to pour wine for the Blood Peak Sovereign and himself. “But it’s been resolved now.”

“Good, good that it’s resolved,” the Blood Peak Sovereign laughed. “Linley, when are you going out to find Sovereign’s Envoys?”

“Parsh, you seem very concerned about this matter,” Linley said, raising his glass slightly to the Blood Peak Sovereign. The Blood Peak Sovereign smiled helplessly and also raised his glass. They both drank.

The Blood Peak Sovereign said helplessly, “It’s not that I’m concerned. This is a task the Overlord of Destruction gave me. He knows that you and I have a relatively good relationship.”

Linley nodded slightly.

“Besides, almost all the other Sovereigns already have Sovereign’s Envoys. Those Envoys were carefully chosen by the Sovereigns. The Sovereigns don’t want to send those Envoys on a suicide mission. Even if the Sovereigns were willing, those Envoys probably wouldn’t accept,” the Blood Peak Sovereign said.

A Sovereign’s command isn’t one hundred percent obeyed by their Envoy.

If a Sovereign ordered an Envoy to go die, would the Envoy actually do it?

“So you’re telling me to send my Envoys to die?” Linley asked in return.

“Linley,” the Blood Peak Sovereign quickly said, “that’s not what we mean. Now, you can go and pick some Envoys. Just tell them that to become your Envoy, they must pass a trial. They have to go to the Planar Battlefield to pass the trial. You give them the Sovereign Artifacts first! If they survive, they become your true Envoys. As for those who die… well, you can just find new Envoys later.”

The Blood Peak Sovereign smiled. “I think there will be plenty of people willing to take a gamble for the chance to become a Sovereign’s Envoy.”

“You guys… you’re really just sending those people to die,” Linley wanted to curse.

“They go willingly, of their own accord,” the Blood Peak Sovereign said with a smug smile. “We’re not forcing them.”

That was true. They weren’t forcing them.

Those who were already Sovereign’s Envoys naturally wouldn’t risk their lives for a bit of Sovereign power.

But those who weren’t Sovereign’s Envoys yet, in order to become one and obtain a Sovereign Artifact, were very likely to take the risk.

The gods who dared to roam the Highest Planes and Divine Planes mostly had an adventurous spirit. At critical moments, they would gamble. If they succeeded, they would have a Sovereign Artifact, become a Sovereign’s Envoy, and their status would be even higher than that of an ordinary Asura. They would become the pinnacle of existence among gods. If they lost, they would naturally die.

“Other Sovereigns already have their Envoys, and there are no vacant slots. But you have them, and a full six slots,” the Blood Peak Sovereign said with a sigh. “In this war, the number of Commander-level figures entering will be extremely small! So, six Sovereign’s Envoys inside, acting as the sharp edge, the vanguard! As long as they don’t foolishly clash head-on, the role these six people play will be immense.”

Linley nodded slightly.

Commander-level figures naturally played a major role in the Planar War. But the most effective were the Paragons! “Why don’t you find a few Paragons? Paragons would be even more effective,” Linley said.

“In the past, Paragons weren’t afraid, but this time… Linley, everyone who enters will have Sovereign power,” the Blood Peak Sovereign couldn’t help but laugh. “Using Sovereign power to attack with full force, and in a group attack… even a Paragon would be in danger of dying! Those Paragons, tell me, what can a Sovereign offer to attract them to enter? Without sufficient conditions, they absolutely won’t go in.”

Linley had to agree.

The Sovereigns indeed didn’t have enough benefits to offer to make a Paragon enter. A Sovereign Artifact? A Sovereign granting an Envoy a Sovereign Artifact has its limitations. Besides a Sovereign Artifact, what else could attract a Paragon?

“For a Paragon inside, facing a sky-covering, earth-burying swarm of Highgods all using Sovereign power, the probability of death is estimated to be about fifty percent,” the Blood Peak Sovereign said. “As for a Commander-level figure, even if they are careful, in such a brutal situation, the probability of death is ninety percent. If they foolishly clash head-on, they will definitely die.”

The Blood Peak Sovereign smiled helplessly. “So, please, get a few Envoys to go in. If we succeed in the end, I think the Overlord of Destruction will be grateful to you.”

Linley understood. The Blood Peak Sovereign was speaking on the surface, but in essence, it was the Overlord of Destruction asking for his help.

“Alright, I agree,” Linley nodded.

Having the Overlord of Destruction owe him a favor was a good thing.

As for the Sovereign’s Envoys? Although this was extremely dangerous, it was also an opportunity. It all depended on whether those Envoys had the ability to survive.

“Haha, that’s the spirit,” the Blood Peak Sovereign was very pleased. “By the way, when are you leaving?”

“Leaving? No rush. I’m thinking about where to find Sovereign’s Envoys,” Linley said helplessly. “Even if I cover the entire Hell with my divine sense, I can only distinguish between a Demigod, a God, and a Highgod. I can’t tell their level of profundities from the surface.”

The Blood Peak Sovereign laughed. “I have two methods. I wonder which one you’d like to hear.”

“Speak,” Linley said, his eyes lighting up.

“First, you can go to the Asura level of the Demon Castle. The Demon Castle is backed by the Overlord of Destruction. Getting all the information on Seven-Star Fiends would be very easy for you,” the Blood Peak Sovereign laughed.

Linley nodded slightly, sighing inwardly. So the Demon Castle was backed by the Overlord of Destruction. No wonder it could spread across the entire Hell.

“What’s the second method?” Linley asked with a smile.

“Linley, every Sovereign has their own sphere of influence,” the Blood Peak Sovereign laughed. “For example, me. My territory is the Blood Peak Continent! As for the Violet Continent, that’s the Violet Sovereign’s territory. For instance, the seven Sovereigns of Light, in the Divine Light Plane, also correspond to seven spheres of influence.”

Linley’s heart stirred.

“By the same logic, the seven Wind Sovereigns, the seven Earth Sovereigns, and the seven Water Sovereigns also have corresponding territories in their respective Divine Planes,” the Blood Peak Sovereign laughed. “Your territory in the Wind Divine Plane is the territory of the Trey, whom you killed. The same goes for the Divine Earth Plane and the Divine Water Plane.”

“Within each sphere of influence, the Prefects, Lords, and other figures, as well as the armies, all obey your commands,” the Blood Peak Sovereign said with a faint smile. “You can simply go to your territory and easily find out which experts are within its borders.”

“My territory? Three of them?”

Linley couldn’t help but laugh.

“When a Sovereign dies, their territory doesn’t change, and the Prefects don’t change either. For example, if someone killed me, Parsh, a new Destruction-type Lower Sovereign would be born. But that person would still manage the Blood Peak Continent. All the Prefects of the Blood Peak Continent, and even the Blood Peak Army, would obey his commands,” the Blood Peak Sovereign explained.

“Oh…” Linley laughed heartily. “I choose the second method! Choosing Envoys is also a good way to get familiar with my territory.”

This system was only natural. The battles in the Sovereign’s world did not affect the division of spheres of influence.

“Linley, I know you became a Sovereign late and don’t have many Sovereign Artifacts. I have some here: three attack Sovereign Artifacts, three defense Sovereign Artifacts, and three soul defense Sovereign Artifacts,” the Blood Peak Sovereign said casually, waving his hand. Instantly, nine Sovereign Artifacts floated to one side.

The material defense Sovereign Artifacts were all armor, while the attack Sovereign Artifacts came in the three common forms: axe, longsword, and warblade.

As for the soul defense Sovereign Artifacts, they came in three forms: ring, earring, and necklace.

“Quite a lot,” Linley couldn’t help but laugh.

The Blood Peak Sovereign said nonchalantly, “To a Sovereign, Sovereign Artifacts are available in whatever quantity they want. It’s like Divine Artifacts to gods. Tell me, what are Divine Artifacts worth in Hell?”

Linley nodded in agreement. In Hell, Divine Artifacts were just common tools, seen everywhere. Not to mention Divine Artifacts, even Divine Sparks were countless.

“We were afraid that Sovereign Artifacts would become too common, so the Sovereigns made an agreement in the past! A Sovereign can give at most one Sovereign Artifact to an Envoy, and at most one to their children, spouse, or husband. Apart from Sovereign’s Envoys and immediate family, no one else can be given a Sovereign Artifact,” the Blood Peak Sovereign said.

Linley remembered this point.

Linley and his father and mother returned to the Yulan Plane together. Father and Mother, of course, went to Wushan Town. As for Linley’s Wind-type Sovereign clone, he tore open the plane and arrived outside the plane, beginning the process of creating the Wind Divine Plane once again.

Only by improving his achievements in the Wind Elemental Laws would Linley find it easier to walk the path of fusing the four Laws.

The Wind-type Sovereign clone was creating the Divine Plane.

Meanwhile, the Water-type Sovereign clone and the Fire-type Divine clone stayed in Hell to keep his wife, Delia, company.

As for Linley’s true body and the Earth-type Sovereign clone, they left Hell.

“Humm…”

A blurry light shone, and Linley and Bebe were inside a teleportation array.

“Boss, when we go to choose Sovereign’s Envoys this time, you have to leave two slots for me to choose. Hehe, I want to experience the feeling of choosing someone to be a Sovereign’s Envoy,” Bebe transmitted.

“No problem,” Linley laughed.

The sky-piercing blurry light dissipated, and Linley and Bebe had arrived in another plane.

“We’re in the Wind Divine Plane,” Bebe’s eyes lit up, and he transmitted, “Let’s go, Boss. Let’s go see your territory.”
