Chapter 20: Attack, Kill!

"Light Divine Plane? Yes." Linley transmitted with a smile. "I just watched a battle between two Overarching Laws Rulers, which delayed me a bit."

"Then let's set off now." Augusta's smile was so warm, as if he were speaking to a dear friend.

But Linley and Augusta clearly had several grievances between them.

First, their ancestor was killed by Augusta. Second, Beirut also had a great enmity with Augusta. Third, when Linley was still a Highgod, Augusta had threatened him to hand over nine spirit pearls and even tried to kill him. It was the Overlord of Destruction who intervened back then.

Yet at this moment, both seemed to have forgotten all of this.

"Haha, let's go together."

Linley said with a smile, and together with Augusta, they flew towards the distant Flowing Wind Mountain.

"Augusta." A voice rang out, and a figure shot over like lightning.

Linley turned to look. The newcomer had long golden hair and a lightning mark on his brow. This was the Lightning Ruler. The Lightning Ruler said with a smile, "Augusta, you're going back? What a coincidence. I happen to have an important matter to attend to in your Light Divine Plane."

"Oh?" Augusta's mind turned quickly, and he smiled. "Linley is also going, so let's go together."

Linley was inwardly surprised. He glanced at Augusta and thought, "Augusta is only strong because of his Overgod artifact. But this Lightning Ruler has a Sovereign clone. In terms of willpower alone, he's a notch above Augusta. And being of the Lightning element, he's definitely extremely fast. With him butting in, does Augusta think he can handle this?"

The Lightning Ruler, beaming, followed Linley and Augusta as they flew towards Flowing Wind Mountain.

Mid-flight, a voice suddenly rang out in Linley's mind: "Linley. Right now, five other Rulers are following behind you. And you're accompanying these two. It seems all seven Law Rulers have their eyes on your Overgod artifact. How about coming to my Infernal Realm?"

The one transmitting was the Death Ruler.

Linley smiled. His divine sense surpassed all Rulers. He had long detected the other five Rulers trailing them. What surprised him most was that the Wind Ruler, Deya, actually dared to follow.

"Ruler, thank you. But I can handle this matter on my own." Linley transmitted back.

"Oh? It seems you're quite confident in yourself. Since you say so, don't come crying later." The Death Ruler transmitted, then stopped bothering with Linley. She quickly took the teleportation array at Flowing Wind Mountain and left the Wind Divine Plane, returning to the Infernal Realm.

Linley chuckled.

In terms of strength, who was he afraid of?

Among the eleven Rulers, if there was one Linley truly feared, it was only one person—the Overlord of Destruction!

"Once I use fused divine power, my strength increases a hundredfold. Law Rulers are nothing to worry about. Even among the four Overarching Laws Rulers, the Death and Life Rulers might not match my speed. As for the Fate Ruler, he can resist temporal chaos only because of his soul-defense Overgod artifact, not because he's that strong. In pure strength, he's not much stronger than other Rulers. After all, he has no offensive Overgod artifact. If I meet him, I have a way to survive. Only the Overlord of Destruction!"

The Overlord of Destruction's ultimate move, temporal chaos, was too terrifying.

Once he used it, his soul attack power increased over a thousandfold! Any other Ruler facing it would surely die. Only the Fate Ruler could withstand it.

"But there's no need to worry." Linley was full of confidence. "First, the Overlord of Destruction probably only sees the Fate Ruler as his rival. Second, once I fully fuse the four different Law insights, my strength will be such that even the Overlord of Destruction can't touch me."

Linley was very confident.

He was already strong in soul power. If he fused the four different insights, wouldn't he be able to withstand temporal chaos attacks?

In truth, Linley's potential didn't stop there. He hadn't thought about killing other Sovereigns. Even if he didn't break through in his insights, if he refined another Fire-type Lesser Sovereign spark, his strength would increase a hundredfold! He would then be able to threaten the four Overarching Laws Rulers.

But since others hadn't provoked him, Linley wouldn't go around killing Sovereigns for no reason.

Because, through his own cultivation, he already had the potential to surpass all Rulers.

The three Ruler-level figures were now standing in the teleportation array.

"Light Divine Plane." The Light Ruler casually took out a Sovereign token.

Even when using teleportation arrays, Sovereigns generally didn't reveal their true identities.

Under a hazy glow, the teleportation array activated. At that moment, a smile appeared on Linley's face, and the same was true for Augusta and the other.

Barely a few seconds after Linley and the others left, five figures descended from the sky. It was the other five Rulers.

"Hmph. Augusta and Hulerre are both stronger than the five of us. We all know each other's intentions. This time... if we scatter, none of us will have a chance to get the Overgod artifact." The Wind Ruler Deya glanced at the other four. "So it's best if we join forces from the start. When the opportunity comes, we'll each rely on our own strength to seize the Overgod artifact."

The other four Rulers nodded in agreement.

Who didn't understand this?

If Linley, after obtaining the Overgod artifact, had strength comparable to the Light Ruler, these Rulers probably wouldn't dare to have such thoughts.

But Linley, with the Overgod artifact, was only as strong as the Wind Ruler. Naturally, no one was afraid. Among the seven Law Rulers, the Wind Ruler was at the bottom.

"Light Divine Plane."

The five Rulers entered the teleportation array. The Wind Ruler Deya said indifferently, also taking out a Sovereign token.

"Yes, milord." The soldiers immediately activated the array again.

In the blink of an eye, the five Rulers were teleported away.

The soldiers at the peak of Flowing Wind Mountain were puzzled.

"How strange. Two groups in a row, all holding Sovereign tokens. They're probably mostly Sovereign envoys. So many big shots heading to the Light Divine Plane—what for?"

"With so many Sovereign envoys going there, there must be some treasure."

The bored soldiers chatted idly about this topic.

Little did they know that the eight people just now were all Ruler-level experts!

Linley, Augusta, and Hulerre flew out from an island.

"Linley, where are you headed?" Augusta asked warmly.

"Me? Haha, to be honest, this is my first time in the Light Divine Plane. But my divine sense has already found the person I'm looking for. To the south." Linley pointed south. "However, this friend of mine is an angel."

"An angel?" Augusta was taken aback.

"Yes, so I'd like to ask for your help, Augusta. I hope you can grant my friend freedom." Linley said with a smile.

"Angels are born from the Angel Rebirth Pools. Granting them freedom is difficult, difficult, difficult!" Augusta frowned, saying the word "difficult" three times.

"Difficult?" Linley asked with a raised brow.

"What's so difficult about it? I know the simplest method." The Lightning Ruler beside them laughed heartily.

"What method?" Linley turned to look.

The Lightning Ruler laughed. "The Angel Rebirth Pools are all connected to the Sovereign's soul. Just kill the Sovereign, and all the angels controlled by the Angel Rebirth Pools will naturally gain their freedom."

"Hulerre." Augusta frowned, looking at him coldly. "What exactly is your business in my Light Divine Plane?" In truth, Augusta knew full well what the Lightning Ruler Hulerre was thinking. Even a fool would know he was here to snatch the Overgod artifact.

"I..." The Lightning Ruler raised an eyebrow and laughed. "I'm also here to find a friend. Although he's not an angel, coincidentally, he's also in the south." He pointed in the same direction.

Augusta sneered inwardly.

Find a friend?

Neither Linley nor Hulerre was likely here just to find friends.

"Hulerre." Linley turned to look at him, feigning surprise. "You said that to free an angel, you just need to kill the Sovereign?"

"That's right." Hulerre deliberately laughed. "But the Light Divine Plane has a full seven Sovereigns. With your strength, Linley, killing the other six would be easy. But the hardest one is right in front of you. Augusta here is formidable—much stronger than the Deya you dealt with."

Augusta felt the atmosphere growing tense.

"What's going on today? Not only are you two here to find friends, but the other five Rulers have also come. Are they looking for friends too?" Augusta said with a sarcastic smile.

Linley glanced back.

He didn't care about those five Rulers.

"Augusta." Linley looked at Augusta and said helplessly, "For the sake of my friend—"

"Then you'll have to die!"

Linley's voice was still echoing when a green longsword suddenly appeared in his hand—the Life Overgod Sword. Gripping it, Linley didn't hesitate. He thrust the sword straight at the Light Ruler Augusta's head!

Dark green fused Sovereign power surged instantly!

"Boom—"

The moment the fused Sovereign power poured into the Overgod Sword, heaven and earth shattered.

"Heh." Augusta, who had been confident in facing this sudden strike, suddenly changed expression. A light sword appeared in his hand, tracing an arcane path to block the blow. "Boom!"

It was like countless mountains pressing down at once.

"Pfft!" Caught off guard, Augusta's light sword was knocked back, smashing into his own body. Blood seeped from his wounds, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.

"Crack—"

Within a thousand miles, space completely collapsed, forming a terrifying void. Augusta himself was sent flying into the spatial turbulence.

"Boom—"

Because of this terrifying strike, space within a thousand miles collapsed. Within a hundred thousand miles, the shockwaves killed all living things. Even a nearby small island was instantly reduced to dust, leaving not a trace.

The moment Linley struck at Augusta—

"Now!" The Lightning Ruler Hulerre, not far from Linley, attacked simultaneously.

A javelin.

A javelin wreathed in countless bolts of lightning shot from the Lightning Ruler's hand. The motion of throwing it was flawless. The javelin tore through the air, aiming straight for Linley's brow. "Crackle—" There was only a faint ripple in space.

Clearly, the attack was condensed to its peak.

After severely wounding Augusta with one blow, Linley turned to look at Hulerre.

Seeing the javelin flying straight at his brow, already upon him, Linley's face darkened. He growled, "You're asking for death!" His voice echoed like thunder across the heavens and earth.

At the same time, Linley casually swung his sword back—

"Smack!"

The Life Overgod Sword, infused with fused Sovereign power, struck the javelin. "Bang!" The javelin shattered into countless pieces, scattering in all directions.

"No good!" The Lightning Ruler Hulerre's face changed drastically. "This is wrong! Linley's strength is off! If he used the Overgod artifact and was only as strong as Deya, how could he shatter my Sovereign artifact? How could he easily severely wound Augusta? He... he was hiding his strength!"

Hulerre knew something was wrong.

But it was too late!

How fast was the Overgod Sword?

"Ah—" The unwilling Lightning Ruler roared in fury, suddenly splitting his body in two, fleeing in opposite directions.

"Bang!"

Linley's Life Overgod Sword slashed out. A clearly visible dark green sword aura cut through one of the bodies. That body instantly turned to dust, leaving only a crystal radiating a yellow light floating in the air.

"Hmph, you got lucky." Linley glanced at the Lightning Ruler Hulerre, who had already fled far away. He reached out and collected the Earth-type Lesser Sovereign spark.

Clearly, he had just killed Hulerre's Earth Sovereign clone.

The Lightning Ruler Hulerre fled as fast as he could. Having lost his Earth Sovereign clone, he didn't even dare to look back!
