Chapter 47: Interception

“Light Sovereign?” Linley and Bebe exchanged a glance, their hearts tightening, then they looked toward Beirut.

Beirut was currently carrying Linley and Bebe, rushing toward the Yulan continent at top speed, while simultaneously conversing with the Light Sovereign via divine sense: “Haha, Augusta, in my opinion, you should just return to your Light God Plane. Chasing us now is a complete waste of time. In the end, you’ll still return empty-handed.”

Beirut’s mockery was fully contained in his words.

“Hmph, it’s still too early to say that. You’re still a long way from the Yulan continent plane. You’d better pray you can escape into the Yulan plane first. Once I catch up to you, you—not just you, but the two beside you as well—are dead!” The Light Sovereign’s face was gloomy. At an extremely distant point from Beirut in the spatial turbulence, he was traversing through it at an astonishing speed. In terms of speed alone, he was indeed much faster than Beirut.

Unfortunately…

The Higher Planes and Divine Planes were originally extremely far from the Material Planes. A large number of Material Planes were clustered in the same region. The distance between the O’Brien Plane and the Yulan Plane was dozens of times shorter than the distance between the O’Brien Plane and the Light God Plane.

“Haha, then keep chasing!” Beirut said no more.

In the vast spatial turbulence, one party was traveling, the other was chasing.

“Linley actually entered the spatial turbulence?” The figure shrouded in a black halo said in a low voice, then chuckled softly. “It seems now that Linley is unwilling to hand over the Sovereign’s artifact to the other Sovereigns. The Beirut backing him truly has some nerve.”

“There’s no one else besides Beirut,” the Violet Thorn Sovereign easily deduced. “Given Beirut’s caution, there shouldn’t be any problems.”

The news that Linley had torn open a spatial rift and entered the spatial turbulence with Bebe was quickly passed by those Highgods to many Sovereigns. Not only the various Sovereigns of the Edicts, but other Sovereigns had also sent people to monitor Linley’s movements.

Wind God Plane.

“Hmph, the Yulan plane to the O’Brien plane? Excellent. My home plane, the Dylin plane, happens to be right in the middle.” A silver-haired, hook-nosed man had just received the news and immediately flew toward the teleportation array of the Wind God Plane. Soon, he arrived at the array.

“Dylin plane,” the Wind Sovereign, Treycia, said coldly, simultaneously displaying his Sovereign’s medallion.

“Yes.”

The soldiers dared not be negligent. The teleportation array activated, light flickered, and in an instant, the Wind Sovereign Treycia had arrived at the Dylin plane.

“Back then, when I spoke, Beirut didn’t give me any face. Now… the opportunity is perfect.” Treycia, having arrived at his home plane—the Material Plane of Dylin—immediately tore open space and entered the spatial turbulence. His divine sense instantly spread out.

A hint of a smile curled at the corner of Treycia’s mouth as he transmitted: “Beirut, how rare. You actually left the Yulan plane and came out!”

“You actually left the Yulan plane and came out!” This voice rang out in Beirut’s mind. Beirut’s face couldn’t help but darken.

“Grandpa Beirut, what’s wrong?” Bebe noticed Beirut’s expression was off and quickly asked.

Linley also looked at Beirut with concern. Beirut’s face was grim: “Linley, Bebe, the situation is very bad now. Treycia is not far from us, and he’s right on our return path. At his speed, he’ll probably meet us in a moment.”

“Treycia?” Linley and Bebe exchanged a glance.

Linley knew the Wind Sovereign Treycia. Back when Lord Mordo of the Tian Shan Prefecture had spread the news, Treycia was the one who had pressured Linley to hand over the nine spirit pearls. If not for the Bloodpeak Sovereign’s intervention, Linley would likely have been killed by Treycia back then.

“Grandpa, is it going to be okay?” Bebe asked worriedly.

“This Treycia is a Wind-type Lower Sovereign. I am also a Wind-type Lower Sovereign. However… he has reached the Grand Perfection in terms of profound mysteries of the laws. So it’s very troublesome.” Although Beirut was anxious, he still continued moving forward with Linley and the others.

Linley frowned.

Both were Lower Sovereigns, but the other had achieved Grand Perfection in the laws. It seemed Beirut was no match for him.

“Fighting this Treycia isn’t the main issue. The most important thing is… once he delays us, and the Light Sovereign catches up, then it’s all over.” Beirut said with some worry.

“Right, if Grandpa fights Treycia, he won’t be able to move forward,” Bebe said, his face turning red with anxiety. “Once the Light Sovereign catches up, then…”

Linley, however, looked at Beirut.

He and Bebe couldn’t help. They could only rely on Beirut.

“Treycia! What do you want with this Sovereign’s artifact? A single Red Caltrop Crystal Diamond is just one of three artifacts. Getting it won’t do you much good. Do you, a Lower Sovereign, also want to complete this task and obtain a Sovereign artifact?” Beirut transmitted.

“If you don’t want me to block you, that’s fine too. Beirut, just agree to my previous request,” Treycia transmitted back.

“You’re dreaming,” Beirut said angrily.

“Haha, if you don’t agree, then I’ll block you. Soon, I’ll probably meet you,” Treycia transmitted smugly.

Beirut suppressed his anger: “Tell me, aside from this, what do you want to not block us?”

Treycia was a Grand Perfection, Wind-type Lower Sovereign. In terms of speed alone, he was even slightly faster than Beirut.

If Beirut wanted to return to the Yulan continent plane and tried to bypass Treycia, first, the detour would be too long. Second, Treycia could simply rush to the vicinity of the Yulan plane first and wait for Beirut. No matter what… there was no avoiding Treycia.

“I’ve already stated my request. Fine, if you can’t agree to that, then do this… hand over the Red Caltrop Crystal Diamond, and I’ll let you go,” Treycia transmitted.

Hand over the Red Caltrop Crystal Diamond? Wouldn’t that make the whole trip pointless?

“Treycia, don’t push me too far,” Beirut transmitted angrily.

“Push you too far? What if I do? You only ever hide in the Yulan plane, never daring to come out,” Treycia said arrogantly.

“Hmph, then let’s have a direct confrontation and see,” Beirut transmitted angrily.

“Haha, the cowardly Beirut actually dares to say that. Rare, truly rare!” Treycia transmitted with a laugh.

Beirut snorted coldly and said no more.

Linley didn’t know the content of the divine sense conversation between Beirut and Treycia. But from Beirut’s expression, he could guess: “It seems Lord Beirut and Treycia didn’t reach an agreement. This is truly troublesome now.” Linley and Bebe could only wait helplessly for the coming scene.

Colorful spatial turbulence surged, and spatial rifts appeared from time to time.

Beirut flew with Linley and the two others for a moment.

“Grandpa, Treycia!” Bebe exclaimed.

Linley stared intently into the distance. Within the hazy cyan halo, the tall figure’s silver hair fluttered. His narrow eyes shot out knife-like cold light, and the corners of his mouth curled slightly upward as he coldly smiled at Beirut and the other two.

“Beirut,” Treycia spoke.

“Treycia, you’d better leave now. Otherwise, later, you might find it hard to leave,” Beirut said coldly.

“Hmph.” Treycia’s expression suddenly changed. “You actually notified an ally.”

“Of course. The moment I discovered you, I notified them,” Beirut said coldly.

“Just a Fire-type Lower Sovereign. Do you think I’m afraid?” Treycia said disdainfully. “Among Sovereigns, fewer than ten have reached Grand Perfection. Among Lower Sovereigns, there are few who can match me. At least, you’re not one of them. This ally of yours probably isn’t my match either.”

Linley was anxious and transmitted to Beirut: “Lord Beirut, this Treycia is clearly stalling for time. The longer he delays, the worse it is for us.”

“I know.” Beirut gave Linley a meaningful look. “Don’t worry, Linley. Everything is within my calculations.”

Seeing Beirut so calm, Linley couldn’t help but feel more confident.

“Linley, last time the Bloodpeak Sovereign was there, you escaped. This time, you won’t be so lucky.” Treycia flipped his hand, and a thin, massive curved blade appeared, gleaming with a cold, sharp light. The aura emanating from the blade even caused the surrounding spatial turbulence to tremble.

With a single movement, he shot forward like a dragon, crossing several miles in an instant. The curved blade, carrying the power to split heaven and earth, slashed down toward Beirut.

“Linley, take Bebe and head toward the Yulan continent first. I’ll catch up soon,” Beirut transmitted urgently.

“Yes.” Linley didn’t hesitate.

A black staff suddenly appeared in Beirut’s hand. It instantly elongated to a hundred meters in length and several meters in thickness, then he swung it horizontally.

“Clang!”

The terrifying curved blade, which had split the spatial turbulence, struck the black staff head-on, only causing it to tremble slightly.

“Bebe, let’s go.” Linley grabbed Bebe and immediately began to resist the spatial turbulence, heading toward the Yulan continent plane.

“Boss, will Grandpa be okay?” Bebe asked worriedly.

“If we stay here, we’ll only affect your Grandpa Beirut,” Linley understood the situation clearly. “If Treycia uses attacking us to threaten Beirut, that would be trouble. Let’s go ahead first. Once the battle is over, Beirut will catch up.” Despite his words, Linley was still worried deep down.

What if the battle between Beirut and Treycia dragged on too long, and the Light Sovereign caught up from behind?

“Boom!”

A terrifying, violent energy storm spread out, even impacting Linley, who was already a thousand miles away.

“Swoosh.” Linley instead used the momentum to flee even faster.

“As expected of a Sovereign battle. Even the residual energy, spreading a thousand miles, far surpasses Grand Perfection.” Linley was secretly shocked as he grabbed Bebe and desperately rushed forward.

Just a moment after Linley and Bebe had been rushing forward.

“Boss, there’s someone ahead,” Bebe said in shock.

“Another Sovereign!” Linley’s face instantly turned pale!

Beirut was already behind, holding off Treycia. If another Sovereign came, how could he and Bebe stop them?

A fiery red light shot over from the distance, and in a moment, it had arrived in front of Linley and Bebe. Linley and Bebe warily watched the newcomer. When the figure’s speed sharply decreased, they could finally see who it was.

“This is…” Linley and Bebe were stunned.

Black long hair, a white robe, and fiery red eyebrows!

“Qinghuo!” Linley exclaimed.

He never could have imagined that the newcomer would be Qinghuo! From the aura on Qinghuo’s body, it could be determined—this was Fire-type Sovereign power… Clearly, Qinghuo was actually a Fire-type Sovereign!!!

“Mr. Leilin, you…” Linley’s mind was completely blank.

“Mr. Leilin, how did you become a Sovereign?” Bebe exclaimed. Being able to move at such an astonishing speed in the spatial turbulence was something only a Sovereign could do.

“Qinghuo, you’re here.” A cyan figure was rapidly approaching from behind.

“Beirut.” Qinghuo smiled at the newcomer. “You take Linley and Bebe and rush back to the Yulan continent plane first. I’ll hold off this Treycia. Alone, I can handle him.”

“Fight him while also heading toward the Yulan continent. Don’t let the Light Sovereign catch up,” Beirut instructed.

“Don’t worry. In terms of speed alone, I’m even a bit faster than you,” Qinghuo said with a smile.

“Linley, Bebe, let’s go.” Beirut didn’t waste words. He immediately grabbed Linley and Bebe and once again rushed toward the Yulan continent.

Meanwhile, Qinghuo, his entire body radiating a cyan halo, stood confidently in the spatial turbulence, smiling at the somewhat disheveled figure chasing after him: “Treycia, you want to seize the Red Caltrop Crystal Diamond and offer it to the Light Sovereign? Give up. You have no hope.”
