Chapter 19: The Paper

After leaving the great hall, Linley followed the corridor and arrived at an open grassy area.

Taking a deep breath, feeling the gentle breeze against his face, Linley revealed a relieved smile. "That trick Mold pulled on his deathbed has really caused endless trouble. But now that the various Sovereigns have discussed it, this matter should come to an end. Unless that third divine artifact appears, or that Divine Sovereign's Tome shows up!"

"Boss." Bebe ran over in surprise.

"Father." Taylor, Sasha, and the others were also in the distance, walking over.

Linley looked at this group of family members. "Regardless, this Sovereign's divine artifact involves the Sovereigns. Because of the news Mold spread, the Sovereigns will at most come after me. They shouldn't be shameless enough to threaten my family." Throughout history, over countless years, Linley had never heard of any Sovereign threatening or coercing the family members of a deity.

"Boss, everything alright?" Bebe walked up to Linley.

"Bebe, just look at Third Bro's expression, and you'll know," Yale said with a laugh.

"And my Grandpa Beirut? He's alone in the great hall?" Bebe asked in confusion.

"He's discussing some secret matters with the Bloodpeak Sovereign," Linley said.

Bebe, Yale, and the others were greatly startled. Bebe quickly said, "The Bloodpeak Sovereign came too?" The arrival of the Bloodpeak Sovereign had gone unnoticed by the others. Because the Bloodpeak Sovereign had directly formed an energy projection inside the great hall, those outside had no idea.

"Your Grandpa Beirut has arrived," Linley said to Bebe with a smile. At that moment, Beirut walked out of the great hall with a smile on his face.

After coming out, Beirut's gaze locked onto Linley and the others, and he walked over.

"Grandpa." Bebe went to meet him.

Beirut smiled and patted Bebe's head, then looked at Linley and said with a laugh, "It's all settled now, Linley. I still have matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave first." After saying this, Beirut unexpectedly sent a divine sense transmission to Linley: "Linley, remember this. Whether or not you obtain these nine spirit pearls, do not admit that they are with you. If you do get them, hide them well."

Beirut's divine sense transmission startled Linley greatly.

"Lord Beirut?" Linley transmitted back in surprise. Linley felt grateful to Beirut and regarded him as an elder.

Beirut maintained a smile on his face, but his transmission was solemn: "Don't worry about the rest. If you don't get them, so be it. But if you do, you must hide them well and never admit it. Just deny it to the death! You'll be fine." After the transmission, Beirut cheerfully exchanged a few more words with everyone before leaving alone.

Linley watched Beirut's retreating figure, his confusion growing deeper.

"What did Lord Beirut mean by that? He shouldn't know that I have the Sovereign's divine artifact, but those words..." Linley couldn't figure it out. Time passed, and in the blink of an eye, a hundred years had gone by.

During these hundred years, Linley's water-type divine clone easily accompanied his family, while his other three clones and main body were in intense cultivation. He had long since begun cultivating the sixth profound mystery of the fire-elemental laws. Unfortunately, this sixth profound mystery was also the most mysterious and powerful one in the fire system—the Explosion profound mystery. Linley's cultivation speed was extremely slow.

The Explosion profound mystery was like a volcanic eruption—a massive accumulation of energy released in an instant, with tremendous power.

Take Qinghuo, for example. His movement technique, which seemed like teleportation, and his top-tier material and soul attacks in the fire system were all related to the Explosion profound mystery. This profound mystery sounded simple, but truly delving deep into it and fully comprehending it to perfection was incredibly difficult.

His cultivation of the fire-elemental laws was slow.

But the path of fusing the four elemental laws was even slower. After fusing the Water's Softness profound mystery with the Earth's Pulse profound mystery, Linley's cultivation speed dropped sharply. He made no further progress.

"Whoosh, whoosh—"

The wind howled, and snowflakes filled the sky.

The Divine Prefecture Mountain Range seemed to be dressed in a silver coat, appearing dreamlike. The number of guards at the Four Divine Beasts clan had also decreased significantly. With a Paragon stationed there, who would dare to provoke the Four Divine Beasts clan? Naturally, there was no need to be as tense as in the past.

On the dragon path of the Divine Prefecture Mountain Range, a few scattered figures of guards could be seen.

A giant hammer-shaped metallic lifeform flew in from afar and stopped at the outer edge of the Four Divine Beasts clan's territory in the Divine Prefecture Mountain Range. The giant hammer metallic lifeform dissipated with a bang, revealing a tall figure in midair. The newcomer was at least two and a half meters tall, wearing black trousers on his lower body and only a back armor on his upper body, exposing his thick, muscular arms.

His short red hair stood up like steel needles.

"Who goes there?" A squad of guards from the Azure Dragon clan flew over.

The burly man smiled and spoke gently, "Go and inform your Elder Linley that his old friend Mosi has come to visit." His voice was very warm and pleasant to hear, with no hint of roughness.

The guards exchanged glances.

An old friend of Elder Linley? They could also sense that the newcomer had an extraordinary aura.

"Please wait a moment; I will go and report," one of the guards said before turning and flying into the mountain range.

"Who is Mosi? Have you heard of him?"

"Judging by his appearance, he's probably a powerful expert. A friend of Elder Linley should be at the level of a Commander or Lord."

The guards quietly exchanged divine sense transmissions, discussing the man before them. Over the years, many powerful experts had come to visit Linley. These guards knew that these guests were not to be offended. Whenever someone came to see Linley, the guards maintained a respectful attitude.

After a long while.

"Haha, Mosi!" Laughter rang out, and two figures flew over from afar.

Mosi focused his gaze and smiled as well. "Linley, long time no see."

The arrivals were Linley and a guard. Knowing that Mosi had come, Linley personally came to welcome him. "It has been a long time, Mr. Mosi. Come, let's talk inside." Immediately, Mosi walked side by side with Linley along the dragon path, flying deeper into the mountain range.

"It's been two thousand years since we last met, but I never imagined that you, a mere mid-level deity back then, would now have reached Paragon. When I heard the news, I couldn't believe it," Mosi said cheerfully. "It was only after confirming it with a Sovereign that I believed it. Truly admirable."

Mosi was an extremely powerful Infernal Lord in the Infernal Realm.

It was only later, after obtaining a large amount of information from Beirut, that Linley learned just how powerful Mosi was!

Mosi himself cultivated both the Edicts of Destruction and Death, and he had reached an extremely terrifying level in both. For example, in the Edict of Death, Mosi had nearly reached the pinnacle, only a step away from Paragon. Mosi could easily control the soul of a Seven-Star Demon with ease!

In the Infernal Realm, only a handful could accomplish this.

Although Linley had reached Paragon, he couldn't do that. After all, everyone had their specialties. Experts in the Edict of Death were most skilled in soul matters.

As for the Edict of Destruction, Mosi, being a member of the Bloodscale Titan clan, was naturally gifted in the destructive aspect. Back then, Mosi had used his hammer to easily send Luomiu, who was nearly at the Asura level, fleeing in panic. And that was without Mosi using his ultimate techniques.

In both material and soul aspects, he had nearly reached the peak.

It could be said that unless he encountered a Paragon, Mosi was practically invincible. No wonder the Bloodscale Titan clan had been able to easily manage Moluo Island like a city, with no one daring to provoke them. After all, how could an ordinary Lord be a match for Mosi?

"I only made a breakthrough after a narrow escape from death," Linley said with a faint smile.

"I also dream of reaching Paragon, but if I can't get past that final critical step, there's no helping it," Mosi said with a wry smile.

As they chatted, Linley and Mosi entered Linley's residence. Since Mosi wasn't very familiar with the others, Linley briefly introduced some key members before leading Mosi into the living room. The two of them then talked privately.

Mosi was very articulate, and his conversation greatly increased Linley's goodwill. "I almost forgot the purpose of my visit today," Mosi said with a smile.

"Oh? What is it?" Linley asked in surprise.

He had thought Mosi had come just to catch up. It seemed there was a special purpose.

"Look," Mosi said, flipping his hand to produce a black piece of paper. "A high-level deity warrior sent this to me. When I saw the message, I sensed something was wrong. I felt someone was trying to frame you, so I soul-controlled that high-level deity and learned that Mold was behind it all."

Linley's eyes lit up. "This is the paper Mold had someone spread?" Linley quickly took it.

Linley was very curious about what was written on the paper. He had asked Beirut about it back then, but Beirut hadn't obtained a copy either. Mold had only sent his subordinates to the other six regions. As for the Bloodpeak Continent, no other Lords or Commanders had received it.

"The message on this paper is clearly meant to put you to death. So, I rushed over immediately to deliver it," Mosi said solemnly.

From the Bloodpeak Continent to Moluo Island, with the high-level deity warrior taking some time along the way, and then Mosi rushing over, it was understandable that it took this long.

Linley carefully read the message on the paper.

"The three divine artifacts—the Nine Spirit Pearls, the Wuti Crown, and the Hongling Crystal Diamond—these three Sovereign's divine artifacts can be combined into the Crown of Life?" Linley's eyes lit up. "When the three artifacts merge into one and the Crown of Life is formed, it can be offered to the Sovereign of Life, who will grant one request."

The important information on the paper was this.

It also included images of the three Sovereign's divine artifacts.

"So that dilapidated crown is called the Wuti Crown? I've already obtained two of the three artifacts," Linley thought with secret delight. "Now, I only need the last one—the Hongling Crystal Diamond."

The Hongling Crystal Diamond was a blood-red, rhombus-shaped crystal diamond.

As for what special abilities it possessed, the paper didn't say.

The paper also mentioned that the Divine Sovereign's Tome, which recorded detailed information about the three artifacts, and one of the artifacts, the Nine Spirit Pearls, were in the hands of Linley of the Four Divine Beasts clan in Youlan Prefecture!

"I've never seen that Divine Sovereign's Tome," Linley thought to himself. "But I've obtained two of the three artifacts. If I get the last one, I can make a request to the Sovereign of Life."

"Make a request to the Sovereign of Life?" Linley murmured.

Suddenly—

"Boom!"

A flash of inspiration struck Linley's mind, and his eyes suddenly lit up.

Seeing Linley's surprise, Mosi smiled and said, "I know a bit about the Sovereign's tasks. Over countless years, the Sovereigns have issued several tasks. As far as I know, all the successful Sovereigns have requested Sovereign artifacts from the Sovereigns, and the Sovereigns have always granted them."

Making a request, and the Sovereign would fulfill it.

"The Sovereign of Life governs the life of countless living beings, a manifestation of the rules! A Sovereign couldn't save Grandpa Doehring, but the Sovereign of Life might be able to." Linley still clearly remembered what the Overgod of Death had said.

When a soul was scattered, a Sovereign couldn't save it. But what about a Sovereign of Life?

Although he wasn't sure, the rules-manifested Sovereign of Life was far too powerful. It might really be possible.

"Grandpa Doehring..." Countless images flashed through Linley's mind.

That day, a white-haired old man flew out of a ring...

That day, the white-haired old man began teaching a young boy, guiding him in the art of flat-blade carving, allowing the boy to soar in his progress...

That day, the white-haired old man desperately cast a forbidden spell...

"Grandpa Doehring." Linley, now at the pinnacle of deityhood, felt his heart tremble. "As long as I gather the three artifacts, I can make a request to the Sovereign. Now, I'm only one short, just one short! Grandpa Doehring, I will definitely revive you. Definitely."

The flame of hope burned fiercely in Linley's heart.
