Chapter 4: Arrival!
Bonning, shrouded in a black halo, was like a demon possessed.
He suddenly stomped the ground, causing the mountain surface to crack open, revealing deep crevices as sand and rocks tumbled down. Bonning himself shot toward Linley and the other three like lightning, a black spear appearing in his hand. The spear writhed in his grip like a massive python, madly lunging at Linley’s group.
Bonning’s eyes were bloodshot, his killing intent surging.
Linley produced the heavy sword of Blackstone in his hand, a yellowish-brown light flowing through it. Linley casually swung it toward Bonning. Though it seemed slow, the heavy sword was actually several times faster than the spear, directly slamming into Bonning’s body.
“Smack!”
Bonning, who had been charging forward, was sent tumbling backward with a flip, crashing heavily into the mountain rocks, shattering them.
“Impossible.” Bonning stared at Linley in shock, then his expression grew grim. With a low growl, he thrust his spear through the air toward Linley—
“Whoosh!”
A transparent spear-shaped ripple shot toward Linley.
A tiny, ethereal sword ripple burst directly from Linley’s brow, easily shattering the transparent spear-shaped ripple. But because the ethereal sword ripple was so small, it dissipated after destroying the spear ripple.
Nearby, Bebe glanced at Linley with confusion: “Boss’s soul is the strongest. His soul power is over ten times stronger than divine power. With the willpower infused… even if his insights are lacking, his soul attack isn’t much weaker than Magnus’s. Killing Bonning should be a piece of cake. But why is Boss deliberately letting him off?”
Bebe had been with Linley for so long that he knew Linley’s strength well.
That ethereal sword ripple just now—if it had been just a bit larger, it would have been enough to kill Bonning. But Linley didn’t do it.
“Not good.” The guards were tense.
But those guards were far too weak. They couldn’t even match Bonning, let alone challenge Linley.
“Haha…” Bonning, seeing this, laughed arrogantly, “No wonder! No wonder you two adulterous bastards hired such a powerful expert. Even among lord-level experts, this one must rank highly. Hah, go ahead and kill me! Dying at the hands of someone like you isn’t disgraceful!”
Bonning actually stopped fighting.
“Oh?” Linley was a bit surprised.
But the moment Bonning finished speaking—
“Whoosh!” He suddenly dove into the ground, his escape speed surprising Linley. The speed Bonning showed now was even faster than when he had attacked. Linley silently praised: “This Bonning seems crazy, but he’s actually a schemer.”
Linley wasn’t in a hurry. He descended directly.
His right foot landed heavily on the ground. “Hum—” An invisible ripple spread through the mountain, heading deep underground. Bonning, who was fleeing at top speed within the mountain, couldn’t dodge it. The ripple’s range was too wide, and it directly hit him!
“Bang!” Bonning’s body shook, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.
Linley vanished from the surface, reappearing beside Bonning—using Earth Travel!
“You can’t escape.” Linley reached out, grabbed Bonning’s shoulder, and shot into the sky.
“Hmph.” Bonning angrily thrust his spear at Linley’s chest.
“Clang.” Ripples spread across Linley’s body surface, and the spear couldn’t harm him at all.
“How is this possible?” Bonning’s face changed drastically.
He was a Six-Star Demon, and he was using divine power. Linley wasn’t even wearing armor—just a defense formed by earth divine power—and it blocked the attack. That was terrifying.
“Not just you—even if your father came, he couldn’t hurt me.” Linley glanced at Bonning with cold disdain, then carried him out of the mountain.
A defense infused with willpower was incredibly formidable. Back then, Linley couldn’t even kill Magnus; he could only banish him. That shows how strong the defense was.
Linley’s willpower was stronger than Magnus’s, and though his defensive insights were slightly weaker, they weren’t far off. The energy defense Linley formed was indeed, as he said, something even the Sky Mountain Lord couldn’t break if he attacked.
“Who… who is he?” Bonning was completely stunned.
This kind of power was like a small stream facing an endless ocean. He couldn’t even muster the will to resist.
Linley casually tossed Bonning to the ground. Olivia and Dina quickly flew over.
Bonning, who had been deflated, saw Dina and Olivia and immediately flushed with anger, leaping up to charge at them. Linley frowned at this and reached out—108 yellowish-brown dragons shot forth, binding Bonning together.
A circular cage pressed down on Bonning.
“Ahhh…” Bonning roared madly, trying to break free.
“It’s useless,” Linley said coldly. “You’re a Six-Star Demon. Even with divine power, you can’t escape.”
The cage originally only had binding and pressure effects, but Linley modified it, combining it with the Blackstone Prison. The resulting circular cage, besides its strong binding and pressure, also had extremely tough surface defenses. Bonning couldn’t possibly escape.
“Bonning, you’ve finally gotten what you deserve,” Dina said angrily.
“Father, kill him! Avenge brother!” Deya urged urgently.
Olivia’s eye muscles twitched as he walked toward Bonning in fury.
Bonning roared from within the cage: “Dina! Have I ever wronged you? Whatever you wanted, I gave you. Whatever you said was wrong, I changed! To make you happy, I even bowed to my father and borrowed enough money to buy whatever you wanted! Dina, tell me… tell me why you betrayed me!!!”
Dina just looked at him coldly.
“Haha, you ran away from home, and I searched the whole world for you. This Blood Peak Continent is huge, but when I finally found you, you were married to this waste named Olivia and had children?” Bonning laughed bitterly. “I didn’t kill you. I brought you home. I tried to win you back. But you?” Bonning was nearly insane.
“When we married, did I force you? You were willing!” Bonning roared angrily.
Dina glared at Bonning: “Bonning, yes, I married you back then. But what about you? You brought home any woman you fancied. And you didn’t even spare my sister! Before we married, I was fooled by your disguise. But after marriage, I saw your true face. Of course I had to leave—leave far away!”
Bonning was like a mad tiger, his eyes gleaming with ferocity.
“Fine, I fancied those women, but it was just lust, you understand?” Bonning shouted. “I, Bonning, fancied a woman and brought her back to serve me—what’s wrong with that? I only had one wife! I didn’t take multiple wives like my father or others. I had only one—you! The other women were just for lust, understand? Look at those women—did any stay with me more than a month? Is that little bit of lust a crime?”
“You’re too domineering,” Dina said, shaking her head. “You think you’re not wrong, but I can’t accept it. Especially what you did to my sister.”
“Fine, well said—I’m domineering!” Bonning laughed bitterly. “But after I brought you back this time, I never touched another woman, right?”
“Too late.”
Dina said coldly, “Not touching them now doesn’t erase what you did in the past. I’ve seen through you. What angers me most… is that time I agreed to go with you. You said you’d spare Olivia and the two children, but what did you do?”
“Haha…”
Bonning laughed loudly, madness in his eyes. “Spare them? My woman was with another man and had children. You think I’d let that man and those two bastards live? My things—no one touches them. If they do, I want them dead!!!”
The black halo around Bonning faded as his divine power ran out.
Linley removed the cage’s surface barrier, leaving only the binding force. The pure binding force was enough to suppress Bonning now.
Olivia walked over coldly: “Bonning, you killed my son, Reya. Today, you’ll pay with your life.” Without another word, Olivia produced the Ice Sword.
“Kill me?” Bonning sneered at Olivia. “Come on, I’ll tell you, Olivia! I, Bonning, always leave a way out. The body I left in Daishi Castle was just a divine clone. My other bodies aren’t here—they’re in seclusion. Killing one divine clone means nothing. One day, I’ll make you know… the consequences of messing with me!”
Bonning looked at Dina: “Dina… you slut. Since you’re determined to leave me, I tell you—one day, I’ll destroy you, I swear! I’ll destroy you with my own hands!”
Dina’s heart trembled at this.
Olivia stared coldly at Bonning and said coldly, “Destroy me? If you have the guts, send your other clones. I’ll be waiting.”
“Fine, I’ll come find you.” Bonning’s gaze was murderous.
But Olivia’s gaze was as cold as a sword.
“Then I’ll be waiting. And today, I’ll destroy this clone first.” As Olivia spoke, his Ice Sword shot out. Under the binding force, Bonning couldn’t resist. In fact, without divine power, Bonning was no match for Olivia anyway.
One thrust pierced Bonning’s head.
Bonning’s eyes dimmed.
“This is indeed just one of Bonning’s divine clones. His other clones aren’t here,” Olivia said, sensing with his divine sense that only one divine spark had been shaken out.
Linley and Bebe watched the whole thing unfold, sighing inwardly.
Right and wrong?
From Bonning’s perspective, his feelings for Dina were genuine. But unfortunately, Dina had given up on him. In Bonning’s eyes, Olivia had stolen his wife, so of course he wanted to kill him.
From Olivia’s perspective, he and Dina loved each other, had children—a normal, happy life—but Bonning stole his wife and killed his son. Olivia and Bonning were irreconcilable.
And Dina couldn’t stand Bonning and left to find a new life. But Bonning killed her son.
Who was right? Who was wrong?
“Olivia, where is Reya buried?” Dina asked. “I want to see him.” Reya’s death had hit Dina hard.
“Alright,” Olivia nodded.
“Let’s go then.” Linley and Bebe led Olivia and his family of three onto the metallic lifeform and left. This time, they didn’t go straight back to Deep Blue Prefecture. They first went to where Reya was buried. Linley didn’t kill Bonning’s personal guards.
“Lord…” The guards watched helplessly.
The white-browed guard leader frowned…
In the Sky Mountain Prefecture’s Black Cloud Mountain Range.
The Sky Mountain Lord lived here, with millions of garrison troops stationed nearby.
“Lord, Master Bonning’s strongest divine clone is dead,” the white-browed man reported. He was actually a messenger, regularly reporting Bonning’s activities to the Sky Mountain Lord.
The seated Sky Mountain Lord stood abruptly, his eyes flashing with murder: “He’s dead? And what did you do?”
“Lord, that man was too strong,” the white-browed man said fearfully, kneeling.
In terms of tyranny, the Sky Mountain Lord was even more terrifying than his son. The white-browed man feared the Sky Mountain Lord might kill him in a fit of rage.
“Tell me what happened,” the Sky Mountain Lord said in a low voice.
“Yes, Lord. That day, Master Bonning…” The white-browed man carefully recounted the events, including a rough description of the fight between Linley and Bonning. The Sky Mountain Lord’s brow furrowed deeply. When the white-browed man finished, he ordered with a frown: “Oh? Left in a black sword-shaped metallic lifeform? Fine. Send word—all intelligence personnel in Sky Mountain Prefecture are to observe carefully. Report immediately if they spot a black sword-shaped metallic lifeform, especially with five people inside.”
“Yes.” The white-browed man understood—the Lord was going to retaliate.
But the white-browed man doubted: “The Lord heard my account and should know how terrifying that man is. Why would he still dare to retaliate?”
Having witnessed the battle, he guessed…
That brown-haired man’s strength, even among lord-level experts, was near the top. The Sky Mountain Lord probably wasn’t confident he could win.
After the white-browed man left, the Sky Mountain Lord waved his sleeve, sending a surge of destructive divine power to close the door. “Bonning, that child, was too arrogant and wouldn’t listen to my advice. I let him go his own way, but who would’ve thought… sigh…” A murderous aura flickered between the Sky Mountain Lord’s brows. “His strongest divine clone is dead—his future is bleak. Hmph, killing my son… if it were a thousand years ago, I’d let it slide. But now… let’s see who it is!” The Sky Mountain Lord hesitated briefly, then flipped his hand—
A jade-green box appeared in his hand.
He opened the box. At the bottom was a green sheet of paper, and on it lay an arm ring. The circular arm ring was set with nine green beads.
Looking at the arm ring, the Sky Mountain Lord took a deep breath, his eyes lighting up.
“It’s time to use it.” The Sky Mountain Lord slipped the arm ring onto his right arm.
Wearing it seemed to change his very aura.
Then the Sky Mountain Lord thought for a moment, and his body split into two—one with black hair, one with silver hair. The silver-haired Sky Mountain Lord put away the jade-green box and walked toward a side door. The black-haired Sky Mountain Lord stood in the room, wearing the arm ring.
“Once I use this…”
The black-haired Sky Mountain Lord frowned. The silver-haired Sky Mountain Lord, who had reached the side door, stopped, took out the jade-green box again, and pulled out the green sheet of paper.
“Sizzle—” A terrifying energy surged in his palm.
The green paper trembled but didn’t break.
“Even I can’t destroy this paper.” The silver-haired Sky Mountain Lord flipped his hand, produced a spatial ring, dripped blood to bind it, and stored the green paper inside.
“Hmph.” With a squeeze, he crushed the spatial ring.
The paper was gone.
“Haha… from today on, no one will ever know this secret.” The silver-haired Sky Mountain Lord laughed and left. The black-haired Sky Mountain Lord looked down at the arm ring on his arm and smiled slightly.
