Chapter 33: Slaughter

If that dilapidated crown had been lying on the ground, Linley probably wouldn’t have given it a second glance.

It was decayed to such an extent that the empty sockets meant for inlaying gemstones held nothing, and it didn’t emit even a trace of any special aura. At first glance, one might assume it was just an ordinary crown crafted in a material plane. Whether divine artifacts or sovereign artifacts… any treasure that had been nurtured would generally possess some unique aura.

Even cheap Inkstone or Netherstone had a special aura.

But this crown was as ordinary as an item from a material plane.

Yet the moment Linley grasped this dilapidated crown in his hand, a strange energy directly transmitted into his body. This energy was very peculiar, flowing through his wounds like a spring breeze and gentle rain. Instantly, the severed area of his arm and the numerous wounds across his body began to heal at an astonishing speed, the injuries vanishing.

In an instant!

Aside from a small wound remaining on his chest, all of Linley’s other injuries, including his severed arm, were completely healed.

“How is that possible?” Bebe was greatly shocked, finding it hard to believe.

The stronger the body, the harder it was to heal injuries. Although Linley’s dragonized body wasn’t as tough as Bebe’s, it still far surpassed that of high-level divine artifacts. How could it be healed so easily?

“Boss, what’s going on? How did your injuries heal so quickly? And why hasn’t that small wound on your chest healed?” Bebe quickly sent a mental message. “Is it related to that strange, broken crown?”

Linley was also in a state of shock and confusion.

“Bebe, I’m not entirely sure either. A peculiar energy from this dilapidated crown flowed into my body, and indeed, it healed my injuries in an instant. But that energy seemed very limited. It was used up before it could heal the wound on my chest as well,” Linley replied via soul transmission.

After transmitting that burst of energy, the dilapidated crown no longer emitted any more power.

Now, in Linley’s hand, the crown had lost all its special qualities. But Linley clearly remembered the energy that had entered his body from it: “This dilapidated crown flew in from a spatial tear, obviously arriving here from the chaotic spatial currents. The fact that it didn’t shatter in those currents means its material is at least harder than high-level divine artifacts.”

Linley also knew the dangers of chaotic spatial currents. Spatial tears appeared at any moment, and their tearing force could reduce even high-level divine artifacts to fragments.

Yet the crown remained undamaged.

That alone signified its unusual nature.

“What’s that?” The golden-robed giant, Uman, also fixed his gaze on the crown in Linley’s hand, then let out a cold, loud laugh. “Haha… you two are pretty lucky. This crown managed to survive the chaotic spatial currents intact. It should be a sovereign artifact. Probably from a battle among the commanders back then—one of them died in the chaotic currents, and the sovereign artifact drifted over here. But it looks like… this sovereign artifact is also damaged.”

Linley, however, flipped his hand and directly stored the dilapidated crown into his spatial ring.

The dilapidated crown was not something to study right now.

“Bebe, seize the opportunity. Let’s get out of here fast and not get tangled up with this guy,” Linley said, once again controlling the Blackstone Space. Using the power of the Sovereign of Destruction, the Blackstone Space generated a powerful repulsive force that directly acted on the golden-robed giant, Uman. “This golden-robed man… even my innate divine ability couldn’t harm him. He’s really tough to deal with.”

Bebe also didn’t want to fight this giant.

Linley and Bebe quickly flew off, simultaneously changing the direction of gravity.

The repulsive force suddenly turned into an upward gravitational pull!

Uman involuntarily moved upward, but he quickly adapted to the gravity.

“Trying to escape?” Uman looked at the massive spatial tear ahead. He first flew upward, intending to pass over the top of the tear. Deep underground in the planar battlefield, especially this far down, even a powerhouse like Uman had to be cautious. Otherwise, falling into the chaotic spatial currents would be the most terrifying thing.

But just as he flew above the spatial tear—

The upward gravitational pull abruptly shifted to a downward one!

“Die!” Linley, who had been watching closely, cursed inwardly.

The gravitational pull from the Blackstone Space, powered by the Sovereign’s divine force, was immense. Although Uman was a powerful sovereign’s emissary of the Radiant Sovereign, he had been resisting the upward pull, naturally channeling a downward force within his body to counteract it.

But when the gravity suddenly changed from upward to downward, his own force and the downward pull combined into one!

Uman, who had been holding the advantage, even though he was cautious, was caught off guard by this reversal. His body was forcibly yanked downward!

What was below? A massive spatial tear!

“Hmph!” The golden-robed giant, Uman, changed expression as he was caught off guard. He also felt the terrifying suction of the spatial tear. Instantly, a white light burst from his body, “Boom!” His wolf-tooth club swung violently, distorting the surrounding space.

Using this rebound force, Uman escaped the spatial tear.

“Those two bastards.” By the time Uman got out, though it was only a brief moment, Linley and Bebe had already fled two to three hundred meters away.

“I swear I will kill you two!” Uman roared in fury, then immediately gave chase.

Linley and Bebe had managed to escape for now, but above ground, the situation for Lei Sijing and Lei Hong was dire.

“Haha—”

Montero’s laughter echoed across the desolate battlefield, and like a spider, his body shot out tens of thousands of tough, fine threads, entangling Lei Sijing. The most deadly thing wasn’t the toughness of the threads, but their speed! Each thread was as fast as a beam of light.

They continuously wrapped around Lei Sijing.

“Montero, if you have the guts, fight me fair and square! Relying on such disgusting tricks, what kind of skill is that?” Lei Sijing’s spear had already become a blur, constantly breaking and severing countless threads.

But for every thousand threads he destroyed, Montero’s body would emit ten thousand more.

As long as Montero’s sovereign’s divine power didn’t run out, he wouldn’t worry about exhausting his threads. Although Montero wasn’t like Lei Sijing, who had virtually inexhaustible sovereign’s divine power, he was from the Augusta family. As a rare genius within the family, he naturally received high treatment and had plenty of sovereign’s divine power.

“I don’t have the ability to kill you,” Montero hovered high in the air, sneering as he sent a mental message. “Among my side, only Uman poses a real threat to you in a one-on-one fight. But we’re not planning to kill you. Our mission is to kill your three companions. Haha… I think, underground, your two companions should be dead by now.”

Lei Sijing’s face turned pale with anger.

He knew very well the strength of Augusta’s experts. Among Augusta’s forces, there were the direct descendants of the Augusta family and the sovereign’s emissaries of the Radiant Sovereign. These emissaries also helped the Augusta family. And Uman was one of the Radiant Sovereign’s emissaries, indeed extremely powerful.

“Roar—”

A furious roar sounded.

“Boom!” Suddenly, the entire ground began to churn and bulge, with massive rocks erupting from underground and flying in all directions.

“Lei Hong.” Lei Sijing’s expression changed.

Uman was chasing Linley and Bebe, while Montero was tying up Lei Sijing. That meant… the ones dealing with Lei Hong were six people! Although not all of them were commanders, they all possessed commander-level strength. A siege by six people—even Lei Sijing couldn’t withstand it.

“Oh, your companion is quite strong,” Montero sneered.

“Killing Lei Hong won’t be that easy,” Lei Sijing said, though worried, he still held a sliver of hope. Because Lei Hong was the strongest sovereign’s emissary under his mother. Despite Lei Hong’s usual silence, his strength was… terrifying in a way that wasn’t ordinary.

At this moment, Lei Hong finally entered his most frenzied state!

“Roar—” Another low growl, and Lei Hong’s body suddenly swelled.

On the ground, Lei Hong transformed into a ten-meter-tall, steel-cast giant. His fists were like two meteors, wildly swinging in all directions. Each punch carried terrifying power, and even the six people surrounding him didn’t dare to easily touch his fists.

Space twisted, and every punch caused spatial cracks to burst open.

His ferocity was enough to make anyone pale.

Lei Hong’s entire body was covered in strange golden patterns. From a distance, these patterns formed a bizarre shape resembling a fist. Seeing this, the six attackers frowned, their hearts sinking.

Countless planes gave birth to various unique lifeforms.

For example, metallic lifeforms, plant lifeforms, and rare races like volcano giants and earth giants, which were few in number but extremely powerful as individuals. Lei Hong was a rare king among the earth giant race, often called the Earth Sovereign. He was born with the ability to control the earth, rocks, and absorb the essence of various ores to strengthen his body.

“There’s actually such a strong one here!” The six only then realized.

Lei Hong never showed off. After his friend Busi Li’s strongest divine clone died, he began accompanying Bebe to the planar battlefield. Neither Linley nor others knew much about Lei Hong.

“All of you, die.”

Lei Hong’s eyes glowed with a yellow light, and his massive fists smashed heavily at his enemies. Each punch was so powerful it twisted space to the point of cracking. Born with immense strength, combined with five profound mysteries of the Laws of the Earth, and possessing a soul-defense sovereign artifact, his strength was indeed formidable.

“Haha, everyone, let’s see who kills him first,” the silver-robed woman, Lanasha, laughed loudly.

Although Lei Hong was powerful, his six opponents were no slouches either. After all, there were six of them, all extraordinary figures.

“Hmph!” A green-haired girl moved swiftly, dodging Lei Hong’s heavy punches. But just as she evaded one, Lei Hong’s right arm suddenly bent, and his elbow slammed heavily toward her. The move was so fast that the green-haired girl could only block with her fist.

Her small fist, clad in a black glove, collided with the steel-like elbow!

“Bang!” The green-haired girl was sent flying into the ground, leaving only a hole on the surface.

Lei Hong’s elbow also split open with a large crack, looking terrifying, but no blood flowed. In an instant, the injury healed.

“Swoosh.” The green-haired girl shot back out from underground.

“This big guy’s body is too tough. Even my sovereign artifact glove only scratches him. Everyone be careful,” the green-haired girl sent a mental message. The other five then launched a frenzy of attacks, leaving holes in Lei Hong’s body, but he healed them instantly.

Not only physical attacks, but the six also launched soul attacks!

“It’s useless. This big guy probably has a soul-defense sovereign artifact,” a white-robed middle-aged man sent a mental message.

For a time, they couldn’t do anything to him.

“Everyone, I’ll restrain this big guy for a moment. Killing him is up to the five of you,” Lanasha sent a mental message, a cold smile appearing on her face. Behind this originally pretty girl, a hazy, massive octopus phantom emerged.

Abruptly, an innate divine ability attack descended.

“Ah—” Lei Hong felt as if his entire body was bound by incredibly strong ropes. Space twisted, pressing down on him. Lei Hong roared continuously, his steel-like muscles bulging as he tried to break free. “Swoosh!” “Swoosh!”

Two figures almost simultaneously reached Lei Hong’s head—the green-haired girl and a young man in a light cyan robe. The green-haired girl used her fist, while the young man wielded a broad-backed battle blade.

The green-haired girl’s fist swung with full force—

“Crackle—” The broad-backed blade, coated with water-type sovereign’s divine power, easily tore through space and slashed toward Lei Hong’s head.

“Roar—” Lei Hong let out a furious roar.

“Bang!”

The fist and blade both struck Lei Hong’s head. With a loud bang, Lei Hong’s head exploded into fragments under the full-force attacks of two sovereign artifacts. But strangely, no divine spark fell out.

“Watch out!” Urgent shouts entered the minds of the green-haired girl and the young man.

Lei Hong’s two terrifying fists were already swinging toward them.
