Chapter 31: The Number One Clan

Seeing Bayer leave, Linley also breathed a sigh of relief.

"Compared to a Paragon, I'm afraid I would need a material defense Sovereign artifact and a soul defense Sovereign artifact just to survive." Linley was also shocked by Bayer's attack power. That binding force was so strong it could distort space, even surpassing the Amethyst Space of Reisgem's Amethyst Crystal.

When encountering a Paragon, someone like Bebe, whose material defense and soul defense were both at the peak, could only barely survive.

"No, even if my defenses were formidable, I'm afraid this Bayer could still banish me into the spatial turbulence." Thinking of this, Linley found the Paragon even more terrifying. Previously, Linley had seen many experts who had fused five profound mysteries. He had thought that Paragons were powerful, but probably not to an absurd degree.

But after seeing this, Linley realized.

A Paragon could easily distort space and tear apart heaven and earth with a casual gesture. The leap from fusing five profound mysteries to Paragon was a qualitative transformation, like a rebirth.

"That Bayer won't come back, will he?" A deep voice rang out.

Linley turned his head to look. The speaker was the big man, Lei Hong. Bebe, looking a bit disheveled, quickly said, "Of course he won't! He's a Paragon after all. Since he's already left, how could he turn back? Even if he did, I wouldn't be afraid of him." As soon as Bebe said this, Linley, Reisgem, and Lei Hong all looked at him.

"You're not afraid?" Reisgem said in a tone of disbelief.

Reisgem himself was actually scared. If Bayer went crazy and disregarded everything, he could completely kill Reisgem, Lei Hong, and Linley, and then banish Bebe into the spatial turbulence. The price would be facing the pursuit of the Amethyst Sovereign. Bayer would have to hide permanently in a material plane.

Reisgem was scared, and Linley and Lei Hong felt the same deep down. Facing Bayer, they all felt a sense of powerlessness, unable to resist.

Was Bebe not afraid?

Bebe, stared at by the three, gave an awkward smile: "Alright, I'll be honest. Of course, I'm a bit scared. In front of that Bayer, I felt like I could only take a beating, without any ability to fight back. His eerie music made me lose consciousness. Anyway, since he's gone and it's over, I hope I never see that Bayer again. Unless I reach Grandpa's strength."

Linley couldn't help but smile upon hearing this. Then he looked at Reisgem. This time, he really had to thank Reisgem.

"Luckily, Reisgem, you used the Sovereign to intimidate him." Linley said with an emotional sigh.

"Hmph, it was just talk. By the time my mother actually arrived, this Bayer would have already fled." Reisgem curled his lip. "Luckily, this Bayer wouldn't go crazy for O'Carolwell."

Linley nodded slightly.

If O'Carolwell and Bayer had a relationship as close as Linley and Bebe, then he might have truly gone berserk and killed everyone. Luckily, their relationship wasn't at that level.

"Reisgem, this Sovereign power..." Linley just then remembered the flask of Sovereign power in his hand.

Good heavens, a whole flask! What terrifying wealth this was.

"Reisgem, you only took out this flask of Sovereign power to intimidate Bayer, to let him know he couldn't kill Bebe. Now that it's over, take it back." Linley directly handed the Amethyst Crystal flask back to Reisgem. It wasn't that Linley didn't want the Sovereign power.

If it were one or two drops, Linley would have accepted them.

But this flask...

This was too precious. Linley felt his hand burning holding it. He hadn't made much of a contribution while traveling with Reisgem, yet he was taking such a valuable treasure. As the saying goes, one should not accept rewards without merit. Without any achievement, receiving a treasure would make one uneasy.

"Huh?" Bebe was stunned.

"Give it to you." Bebe also scolded him.

"Hey!" Reisgem glared at Linley and Bebe, angered. "Linley, Bebe, what's the matter with you? Hmph. If you're going to be so pretentious, we might as well disband the team. You two go your way, and Lei Hong and I will go ours. It's as if you don't consider me a friend or brother. As for this flask of Sovereign power, I, Reisgem, have never taken back something I've given. If you don't want it, just throw it away!"

Linley was speechless and helpless.

"Haha, Boss, Reisgem isn't that kind of stingy person." Bebe, however, was grinning and slapping Reisgem on the shoulder. "Just take it." Bebe was actually a bit reluctant to give it up himself; he had only done so because Linley had.

"Did you hear that?" Reisgem raised an eyebrow triumphantly. "Either throw away this Sovereign power and go your own way, while the three of us go together. Or, take it."

Linley wasn't the type to be overly fussy. It was just that this flask of Sovereign power was too precious, and he couldn't bear to accept it at first. But since Reisgem put it that way, what else could Linley do? He flipped his hand and directly stored the flask of Sovereign power into his spatial ring.

"That's more like it." Reisgem beamed. "To be honest, if it were earlier, when I had just reached Highgod and hadn't fused enough profound mysteries, even if you wanted me to be generous, I wouldn't have been willing."

"Oh? What's the story?" Bebe asked.

Linley was also listening with a smile. Bebe and Reisgem stood together, both looking like young boys, with the same mischievous eyes, seeming like brothers.

The four of them, Linley, Bebe, Reisgem, and Lei Hong, walked and talked.

"According to my mother, it was to temper me!" Reisgem said with a laugh. "If I hadn't reached a certain level of strength, giving me a large amount of Sovereign power would only make me lose my sense of crisis. It would be harder to break through. So, after I fused five profound mysteries, my mother no longer restricted me in terms of Sovereign power."

Linley nodded slightly.

Without a sense of crisis, it's difficult to improve. Linley completely understood why the Amethyst Sovereign did that.

"Oh... you have so much Sovereign power. My boss's Four Divine Beasts clan finds it hard to give even a single drop." Bebe sighed.

Reisgem laughed heartily. "The Four Divine Beasts clan? How can they compare to me? A huge clan with a population in the millions, originally spread across various planes. The four Sovereigns bestowed a massive amount of Sovereign power. But did the people of the Four Divine Beasts clan know how to cherish it? They didn't! The four Patriarchs probably never imagined that their four Sovereigns would die. When they consumed Sovereign power without restraint, and then suddenly... the four Sovereigns died! They were dumbfounded."

"Once the four Sovereigns died, they no longer had a source of Sovereign power. Obtaining Sovereign power would become very difficult. Of course, they had to conserve consumption. One drop at a time."

Linley nodded inwardly.

The death of the four ancestors had indeed dealt a heavy blow to the clan.

"A famous, massive clan across all planes, declining just like that." Linley sighed softly. When he first entered the Azure Dragon clan, Linley had marveled at the amount of Sovereign power within the clan. Now he understood that the Elders receiving one drop each was a method of conserving consumption.

Before the four Sovereigns died, the method of distributing Sovereign power in the Azure Dragon clan was probably completely different.

"The Four Divine Beasts clan was very strong back then, but among the countless planes, they weren't the number one clan." Reisgem said.

"Oh? There's a clan stronger than the Four Divine Beasts clan in their prime?" Linley was somewhat surprised.

"The number one clan is the Augusta clan of the Divine Light Plane." Reisgem said with a faint smile.

Linley knew something about the Infernal Realm and the Netherworld, but very little about other planes.

"The Augusta clan?" Three names flashed through Linley's mind. These three names were from the intelligence reports of the Lord Prefect, Beirut. These three people were all Lord Prefect level, and all three... had the surname Augusta. They were clearly from the Augusta clan.

Linley hadn't paid much attention at the time, as there were several groups of brothers who were all Lord Prefects. Three people with the same surname wasn't strange.

"The first generation of the Augusta clan was the Light Sovereign." Reisgem curled his lip.

Linley understood in his heart: "No wonder the clan is so strong. They are descendants of the Light Sovereign." Being called a Sovereign, the Light Sovereign's status and strength were evident.

"The Light Sovereign had many descendants. The second generation alone had 182 members." Reisgem sighed.

Linley and Bebe were dumbfounded.

"Reisgem, these second-generation members, are they all children of the Light Sovereign?" Linley couldn't believe it. In the Four Divine Beasts clan, the Azure Dragon had only two children, the Vermillion Bird clan had only one in the second generation, the White Tiger clan had only one, and the Black Tortoise clan had only two.

The Augusta clan's second generation had 182?

"Yes." Reisgem nodded. "The Light Sovereign was originally from an ordinary race before becoming a Sovereign, so unlike divine beasts, he didn't have few children. He had 182. These 182 children had varying talents. However, because the Augusta clan reproduced so quickly, their population was enormous. Coupled with the Augusta clan's ample resources for training, naturally, many experts emerged. But the Augusta clan only developed within the Divine Light Plane, unlike the Four Divine Beasts clan in their prime, which was spread across various planes."

"The people of the Augusta clan are very arrogant." Lei Hong, who had been silent, suddenly spoke.

"Oh?" Linley looked at Lei Hong. He could feel resentment in Lei Hong's words.

Reisgem sighed softly. "A Sovereign's emissary of my mother, and also Lei Hong's good brother, Busri, was killed by someone from the Augusta clan. Now, Busri only has a weak avatar left. Some people from the Augusta clan are probably in the Planar Battlefield this time. If we run into them, we should kill a couple to vent our anger. Hmph, forget it, let's not talk about that damned clan. It's a mood killer."

The four of them, Linley, Bebe, Reisgem, and Lei Hong, left the place where they had fought. They didn't run, just walked casually. In the Planar Battlefield, unless they encountered a Paragon like Bayer, their hunting squad wasn't afraid of anyone else.

The commotion from their battle had indeed attracted many people.

On the desolate land, five figures appeared. The leader was a young man in a silver, ornate robe with dazzling golden hair.

"Oh, an Amethyst Wall? Hey, that's Bayer!" The golden-haired youth's eyes lit up. They also saw Bayer floating in the air from a distance, like a god. Bayer's presence prevented these five from getting close. But they watched from afar for a while and saw Bayer leave.

"Master Montero, this is a good opportunity." The man beside him, a cold and ruthless silver-haired, burly man in a golden robe, said in a low voice.

The golden-haired youth squinted his eyes.

Just then, the golden-haired youth suddenly turned his head to look not far away. Two men and one woman were walking towards them. "Montero, long time no see." The leading woman with black hair and a silver robe said with a light laugh.

"Lanasha!" Montero also smiled and spoke.

"Saw that battle earlier, didn't you? Bayer made a move against Reisgem's people. I wonder how it turned out." The silver-robed woman, Lanasha, said with a smile. "But I'm sure Reisgem is still alive."

"I know that too." Montero said with a faint smile. Then his eyes lit up. "Lanasha, how about we join forces and teach Reisgem a lesson?"

"Teach him a lesson?" Lanasha frowned slightly. "I know there's some conflict between Reisgem and your family, but..." Lanasha was also aware of Montero's status. Montero was a third-generation member of the Augusta clan. The second generation had 182 members, and the third generation numbered over a thousand.

Montero relied on his talent and strength to have a slightly higher status in the clan. But compared to Reisgem, his status was far inferior. After all, the Light Sovereign had too many children, and Montero was a grandchild. The Amethyst Sovereign only had one son.

There weren't many who dared to kill Reisgem.

"Don't worry, we won't kill Reisgem." Montero said with a soft laugh. "I'll be responsible for tying up Reisgem. As for you three and my four people here, a total of seven of you, you'll deal with Reisgem's companions. Kill as many as you can. It would be best to kill them all! Hmph, since we can't kill Reisgem, killing his companions is fine too." Montero's gaze was cold.

Lanasha turned back and exchanged a few words with the two young men beside her, then smiled.

The Sovereigns were high and mighty. As long as their taboos weren't touched, there would be no problem. Even severely injuring Reisgem wouldn't be an issue. The Sovereigns wanted their children to experience setbacks and grow. As long as they weren't killed, it was fine. As for the life and death of Reisgem's companions, the Sovereigns didn't have the time to care, nor would they lower themselves to interfere.

The world of gods had its own rules. Sovereigns generally wouldn't easily get involved.

"Alright, but the badges obtained from killing people belong to me." Lanasha said.

"Deal." Montero agreed immediately.

"Then let's go. Reisgem and his group are probably almost gone by now." Lanasha said.

Immediately, the two groups, eight people in total, moved forward stealthily at high speed.
