Chapter 14: Saint

The bald, black-armored burly man glanced at George, then went to rest. He was very satisfied with making George the steward. First, George was a lower-level god, posing no threat. Second, George was indeed capable, managing the people of this mountain range in perfect order. He now believed that not killing George back then was a very wise choice.

Not many people died this time, and George quickly arranged everything.

Night. Within the mountain castle, George stood by the window. Through the window, he could see the curved, demonic red moon. This red moon reminded him—this was the Underworld! Not his homeland, the Yulan Continent.

"This kind of life will have to continue," George thought to himself. "I wonder how the Yulan Continent has been doing over this past thousand-plus years. Given the domineering behavior of that man named Odin, I'm afraid even Yale, the boss, and even Dragonblood Castle might be under threat."

George was a very calm man. No matter the circumstances, he could adapt quickly.

In the Underworld, there was a universally known fact—the undead had no memory of their past lives. Only when they transformed into gods, at the moment their souls were baptized by the laws of the world, would their sealed past memories be fully revealed.

When George died, he was at the Saint Domain.

His soul was drawn into the Underworld and transformed into an undead. An undead's strength was determined by its soul. George's soul was a Saint Domain soul, so after transforming into an undead, he was also a Saint Domain undead. Back when he was a Saint Domain undead, George had no past-life memories. He only knew to kill other undead, devour their souls, and make himself stronger!

Strengthening himself, continuously strengthening his soul, and gradually comprehending... Finally, he broke through. He became a god!

At the moment of becoming a god, he also learned his past-life memories.

He learned his past name—George.

As a former pillar minister of the Yulan Empire, George was far better at navigating human relationships than Linley. In his youth at the Ernst Institute of Magic, George was skilled at making friends. He thrived in the official circles of the Yulan Empire as well. Now, he had entered this den of bandits.

Perhaps the bandits excelled at training and fighting. But in management, they were far inferior to George. George's role as steward earned everyone's genuine respect.

"For now, the first goal is to accumulate enough wealth to buy a house in the city," George had long planned. "Once that's done, I can safely cultivate in the city without wasting energy here." As the steward of this mountain range, George's status was second only to the leader of this faction. He could easily obtain a middle-level god's divine spark and refine it. But he didn't want to.

He wanted to become a god on his own!

Here, although he didn't dare to openly embezzle money, with his abilities, he could quietly funnel a large amount of wealth into his spatial ring. How could anyone possibly discover it?

Once he had enough money, who would stay in this bandit den?

"It's a pity that Third Brother is in Hell. It's hard to see him," George sighed inwardly.

The territory of the North Sea Mansion was indeed vast. Linley, traveling by metallic lifeform, flew for several months before arriving at the prairie outside Hyde City.

"The residence of this North Sea Mansion Lord is like a city itself," Bebe said, looking out the window in admiration. "Just the stationed mansion guards alone number in the hundreds of thousands. Looking out, all you see are rows of houses. It really has quite an imposing presence. The tallest castle in the middle is probably the Mansion Lord's residence."

Linley also looked over. The tallest castle was a full hundred meters high, its entire body a shade of ivory white.

"I hope the North Sea Mansion Lord hasn't gone out," Linley sighed. "If the North Sea Mansion Lord isn't here, then I've come all this way for nothing." He immediately put away the metallic lifeform, and Linley and Bebe flew directly toward the distant structure.

The North Sea Mansion Lord's residence was naturally heavily guarded, with numerous mansion guards patrolling.

"Who goes there!" From a distance, Linley and Bebe heard a loud shout from the mansion guards.

Linley and Bebe continued flying forward. Dozens of guards immediately rushed to meet them. The lead guard, who had a horn on his forehead, shouted, "This is the Mansion Lord's residence. Outsiders are not allowed to trespass. The two of you should leave immediately."

"Please go and inform the North Sea Mansion Lord that Linley, an elder of the Four Divine Beasts clan, has come to pay him a visit," Linley said with a faint smile.

"Just because you say you're an elder of the Four Divine Beasts clan, that makes it true?" the lead guard sneered.

Linley smiled calmly. A layer of earthy yellow light spread from his body, enveloping the lead guard. Caught off guard, the guard's body trembled, and he collapsed to the ground. He gritted his teeth and barely managed to stand up again.

"Do you believe me now?" Linley said with a faint smile, withdrawing the earthy yellow light.

"I believe, I believe," the guard quickly said.

He was completely intimidated. Through that gravity space alone, he was certain that the person before him was at the level of a Seven-Star Demon. "Please wait here for a moment... I'll go report this." The horned guard said this, then turned and flew directly toward the tallest castle.

"Is your Mansion Lord currently present?" Linley asked the other guards.

Those guards also understood that these two were no ordinary people. One bearded guard laughed, "Sir, we're just ordinary mansion guards. If the Mansion Lord leaves, we probably wouldn't even know. Wait a moment, when the captain returns, you'll find out."

Linley could only wait quietly. Bebe muttered, "I hope that Mansion Lord hasn't gone out."

A moment later—

"Lord Linley! Lord Linley!" The guard who had gone to report shouted from a distance, then flashed over, his face full of smiles. "The Mansion Lord knows you've come, Lord Linley, and is very pleased. He's already ordered a banquet to be prepared. Please, Lord Linley, come with me inside."

Linley and Bebe exchanged a glance.

"That's quite welcoming?" Bebe muttered.

"This is a good thing," Linley said with a smile, flying forward. "Lead the way!"

As they headed toward the castle, Bebe sent a mental message: "Boss, this North Sea Mansion Lord seems very polite knowing you've come. Has he heard of you? Has your fame spread from Hell all the way to the Underworld?"

"We'll know when we see him," Linley said, feeling quite pleased. "And when we meet the North Sea Mansion Lord, don't cause any trouble. We're asking for a favor."

"I know. I'll just keep my mouth shut," Bebe said, rubbing his nose.

Linley couldn't help but smile. This trip to the Underworld seemed to be going smoothly. He could easily meet the North Sea Mansion Lord.

"Lord Linley, we've arrived," the guard said, standing at the castle gate.

Linley could already see many maids carrying trays of food into the castle. Linley and Bebe then entered the castle's interior.

About a few hundred meters from the Mansion Lord's castle, there was a slightly shorter castle. At that moment, a man in a gray robe was standing on a balcony, casually enjoying the view. If Linley saw him, he would recognize him at once—this was the man he dreamed of killing, the evil king of the Bada Plane Prison, Odin.

When Odin came to the Underworld back then, he also appeared at the White Bone Sacred Mountain teleportation array.

His first stop was the North Sea Mansion. After spending some time there, he understood that while he was a super expert in the Underworld, he hadn't yet reached the true peak. He couldn't compare to the Underworld Mansion Lords. During this time, he also met the North Sea Mansion Lord.

After several sparring sessions with the North Sea Mansion Lord, he was thoroughly defeated and became his subordinate, serving as the third envoy under the North Sea Mansion Lord.

"Hmm?" Odin looked into the distance in surprise.

He saw two figures, led by a mansion guard, entering the Mansion Lord's castle.

"It's them!" Odin's pupils suddenly contracted, and his expression changed drastically. "How did Linley come to the Underworld?" Odin could never forget the humiliation his wind-type divine clone had suffered on the Yulan Continent plane. Although that humiliation could only be considered minor...

To Odin, it was the greatest humiliation of his life.

He hated Linley!

At the time, he even made a harsh threat, telling Linley to come find him in the Underworld.

"I didn't expect Linley to actually come to the Underworld! It seems he won't rest until he kills me." Odin's gaze turned cold. "And now he dares to come to the Mansion Lord's place. Does Linley know I'm here, or is it for something else?" Odin was suspicious. If Linley knew he was here...

Would he dare to come openly to see the Mansion Lord?

After all, Odin was the Mansion Lord's subordinate. "I was going to let it go. But you had to chase me all the way to the Underworld. Hmph." Odin was furious. He immediately flashed, flying out of his castle and toward the Mansion Lord's castle.

Back then, his wind-type divine clone had fully sensed Linley's strength. Odin understood—in terms of material attacks, Linley far surpassed him. Even in soul attacks, Linley had once been able to plunge Odin into a dazed, unconscious state. From this, Odin was certain—

Linley was no weaker than him in terms of soul power!

"To kill this Linley, I can't do it alone. I'll have to ask the Mansion Lord for help." Odin immediately entered the Mansion Lord's castle through a side door. The guards knew Odin's identity and didn't stop him.

On the long dining table, various delicacies were laid out, along with bottles of precious rare wines. Linley and Bebe sat side by side on one side. Across from them was a graceful woman in a blue robe. At the head of the table sat a handsome, middle-aged man in a white robe. This man had a fair, beardless face and always smiled with his eyes narrowed.

This middle-aged man was the North Sea Mansion Lord!

"Linley, although I'm in the Underworld, I've heard of the great name of Linley, the elder of the Azure Dragon clan. Your visit here today is truly a delightful thing," the middle-aged man said in a gentle voice. "Let me introduce you. This is my wife, Anita! Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Saint!"

"Mr. Saint, Mrs. Anita," Linley said with a smile. "And this is my brother, Bebe." Bebe immediately forced a smile.

Linley was quite pleased. Judging by the North Sea Mansion Lord's reaction, he seemed easy to talk to.

"I just heard news of you, Linley, not long ago, and now you're here. What a pleasant surprise. May I ask what brings you here?" Saint asked, his eyes narrowing into a smile. "Feel free to say whatever it is. If there's anything I, Saint, can help with, I will certainly do so."

Linley relaxed. Bebe immediately laughed and said, "You can definitely help. You're a Sovereign's Messenger, right?"

Saint was startled, then smiled and nodded.

"Mr. Saint, the main thing is that I have a very important matter and wish to meet with an Underworld Sovereign. However... I have no idea where the Underworld Sovereigns are. Could you please point me in the right direction, Mr. Saint? I need to know where I can meet one. It doesn't have to be one of the seven. Any one will do," Linley said quickly.

"You want to meet an Underworld Sovereign?" Saint was greatly surprised. His wife also looked at Linley and Bebe in astonishment.

"Can you tell me what your business is with the Underworld Sovereign?" Saint asked.

Linley hesitated slightly.

Saint immediately laughed. "I was just asking. Hmm... Wanting to meet an Underworld Sovereign is indeed a bit troublesome. I do know where the Underworld Sovereigns are. But even if you go, if the Sovereign doesn't wish to see you, it's useless. The Sovereigns are far above us."

Linley was overjoyed. So Saint did know.

"Mr. Saint, please tell me where the Sovereign is. As for whether the Sovereign will see me, that depends on my luck," Linley said quickly.

Saint hesitated for a moment, then nodded slightly.

Just then—

"Mansion Lord!" A voice directly sounded in Saint's mind. Saint frowned slightly and replied telepathically, "Odin, what is it?"
