Chapter 41: Mysterious Visitor

On the wide street, people came and went.

Within the city, no matter what strange and powerful race one belonged to, whether a Highgod or a Demigod, there was no difference. Fighting and killing were absolutely forbidden within the city. Here, one could enjoy life in peace, without worrying about danger.

"Ever since returning to the clan, I haven't had a chance to stroll around the city even once," Linley said, looking at the various shops lining both sides of the street.

"Boss, the city is way more interesting than those mountain ranges. There are plenty of places to enjoy yourself, and even places to watch floating images! Boss, last time I was in the city watching floating images, I discovered..." Bebe said excitedly, his face animated. At this point, he switched to divine sense transmission. "...one of those floating images was from that time on Mulberry Island, when you fought against a large number of island guardian warriors and then battled that red-robed elder," Bebe said.

"Places to watch floating images?" Linley was somewhat surprised.

The Bagshaw family treated some precious floating images as treasures.

"What are the floating images like in those places in the city? Are there many images of experts fighting?" Linley inquired.

"Not many. Although there are quite a few Highgod battles, their level is about the same as the Mulberry Island arena. Occasionally, there's a high-level one, but you have to pay a high fee to go in and watch," Bebe said, a bit indignantly. "Boss, they should give you some money for showing that floating image from Mulberry Island."

Linley laughed heartily.

Beside him, Delia also smiled and nodded. "Bebe is right. They showed that floating image without your permission." Linley, Delia, and Bebe chatted about the floating images as they walked. A moment later, the Tewila and the others ahead turned around and walked back towards Linley.

Elder Tewila transmitted via divine sense, "Elder Linley, we will stay in this Mier City for one month. One month from today, we will set off again to return to the Heavenly Sacrifice Mountains. During this month, Elder Linley, feel free to wander around. Remember, one month. If you miss it... Elder Linley, if you want to go back, you'll have to wait for the next batch. Or go back on your own."

"Don't worry. I understand," Linley nodded. "Elder Tewila, you do as you please as well."

Partway there, Linley separated from Tewila and the others. Then Linley, Delia, and Bebe headed directly towards the residence of Tarossa, Dylin, and the others. Back when Tarossa and Dylin first arrived in Mier City, Bebe and Delia had come with them, so they naturally knew where Tarossa and the others lived.

"Boss, Tarossa and the others bought a huge mansion, costing a full 1.3 billion Mo Stones!" Bebe said quickly. "As for Dylin, Hiss, O'Brien, and that whole group, they all live there too."

Linley nodded upon hearing this. Tarossa and the others weren't short on money, so buying a large mansion in the city was only right. Thinking about buying mansions, Linley couldn't help but laugh. "Bebe, Delia, remember the first time we went to the Imperial Wing City? Back then, the cheapest house we saw was, what, 60 million Mo Stones? At the time, it scared me half to death."

Delia and Bebe laughed as well.

The cheapest house in Imperial Wing City was 8 million, but those were snapped up as soon as they appeared. The ordinary vacant houses cost nearly 100 million. Only Highgods with considerable strength could afford to buy one.

"Back then, I thought only the true elites of the Infernal Realm could buy a house in the city. Looking at it now..." Linley shook his head with a smile. Indeed, being able to afford a house in the city counted as being an elite. But those so-called 'elites' were only elites compared to ordinary gods in the Infernal Realm.

The true experts of the Infernal Realm, the Six-Star Fiends and Seven-Star Fiends, mostly lived outside the city, claiming mountains as their own, building castles, and having a large number of subordinates. While life in the city was safe, it lacked the challenges and passion of life outside.

"Linley, Tarossa's residence is here," Delia said, pointing ahead. Linley followed her finger and saw a large mansion, several hundred meters long, sitting there. In a city where land was as precious as gold, such a large mansion costing 1.3 billion Mo Stones was worth the price. Wood, flowers, and a wide, winding stone path paved with chromium rocks led from the main gate to the residential building.

"Big brother, what are you dawdling inside for? Hurry up!" A burly young man was shouting from downstairs. This was Dylin's third son, Clayworth. He and his eldest brother had come to the Infernal Realm with Dylin back then. As for his second brother, he had been killed by the Abyssal Blade Demons during their time on the eleventh floor of the Necropolis of the Gods.

"Coming!" A figure leaped down from upstairs like lightning.

Just then—

"Boom!" "Boom!" The door was pounded thunderously. At the same time, a shout rang out: "Hey! Open up! Clayworth, Creo! You two, open the door quickly!"

"It's Bebe!" The Creo brothers looked at each other and ran over.

With a low, rumbling sound, the door swung open, and three people stood outside.

"Linley!" Creo and Clayworth were both startled. This was the first time in five hundred years that Linley had come to their place. Clayworth then turned his head and shouted in surprise, "Father! Uncle Tarossa! Linley is here!"

"Linley is here?" Several figures flew out from the distant residential building. The first one to fly out was Hiss.

Linley looked at these old friends and walked over with a smile, directly embracing Hiss. "Hiss, long time no see."

"Long time no see indeed. Elder Linley, with your high position and heavy responsibilities, you're so busy every day that you've forgotten us little people," Hiss said deliberately.

Seeing Hiss teasing him like this, Linley couldn't help but feel happy.

Hiss had finally regained the same carefree and unrestrained demeanor he had back in the Yulan Continent. It seemed the impact of the Mulberry Island incident had faded somewhat.

"Linley." Tarossa, Dylin, and O'Brien also came over.

"Hmm?" Linley looked at the people before him. Olivieri wasn't there, but there was an extra golden-haired, beautiful woman. Linley looked at the woman walking at the back in surprise. "And this is?"

Tarossa let out a strange, wicked laugh. "Linley, this is our new member. Guess whose wife this lady is among us?"

"Wife?" Linley was stunned.

"Ah, someone got married! Last time I was here, there wasn't one yet!" Bebe's eyes widened.

Tarossa laughed heartily. "When it comes to marriage, you have to be quick. Guess whose it is?" Linley, Delia, and Bebe all looked at Hiss, Dylin, O'Brien, and Clayworth.

"Could it be Clayworth's?" Bebe guessed first. "Or O'Brien's? No, O'Brien has some secret affair with the High Priest." The War God O'Brien couldn't help but look embarrassed.

Tarossa, Hiss, and the others all burst out laughing. Dylin quickly said, "Alright, stop messing around. Linley, Delia, let me introduce you. This is my wife, Camina."

"Mr. Linley, they've all told me about your deeds," Camina said with a smile.

"Camina, hello." Linley and Delia both greeted Camina.

Linley's arrival added a bit of spice to the peaceful life Tarossa, Dylin, and the others had been leading. That very day, Tarossa and the others immediately prepared a lavish banquet. Linley sat at the table with Tarossa and the others, discussing matters of the clan.

Learning about the changes within the clan, especially the brutal slaughter of the past five hundred years, Tarossa and Dylin couldn't help but sigh. Camina was even more shocked inwardly. She was just an ordinary Midgod. She had heard Tarossa and the others talk about Linley's affairs before, but she always felt like she was listening to the legend of some powerful expert.

Now, hearing Linley himself talk about Seven-Star Fiends dying one after another, the feeling was different.

Those were Seven-Star Fiends!

Generally, the lord of a city was a Seven-Star Fiend. But in the battles between the ancient Four Divine Beasts clan and the eight great clans that had migrated from various planes, Seven-Star Fiends were dying one after another.

"You said Olivieri left?" Linley asked in surprise.

"Yes," Tarossa nodded. "He probably couldn't get used to the peaceful life in the city. He's gone out to take on Fiend missions now. Usually, he comes back once every ten or twenty years, or a few decades."

Fiend missions?

Linley nodded slightly, also remembering... he himself was still just a One-Star Fiend! Although he had taken on two missions, neither had been successful.

"Back in the Yulan Continent, Olivieri yearned for the passionate life of the Infernal Realm, which is why he was the first to come here. His personality can't stand being cooped up in the city forever," Linley said with a sigh.

Suddenly—

"Boom!" The sound of the mansion's gate being knocked echoed.

"Eh? Who's knocking at this hour? Everyone's here. No one went out," Tarossa said, puzzled. "Could it be Olivieri back?"

"Can't be that much of a coincidence," Linley laughed. Just as he mentioned Olivieri, would he come back?

"Clayworth, go open the door," Tarossa said. Clayworth immediately got up and ran outside.

"Hey, open up quickly!" A deep voice came from outside. The voice startled Linley—it was the voice of Pussroe, who had saved him back then! Linley was extremely surprised.

Why was Pussroe here?

"Who are you?" Clayworth's questioning voice rang out. Clayworth didn't know Pussroe at all. Tarossa, Dylin, and the others also walked out of the living room, and they too saw the red-haired giant at the gate.

But they didn't know Pussroe either.

"Haha, Pussroe! Boss, that's Pussroe!" Bebe shouted immediately. Linley also walked out at this moment, smiling. "Clayworth, he's a friend of mine." Linley noticed... that behind Pussroe were actually two subordinates.

"Young man, strangers the first time, friends the second. You'll get to know me later!" Pussroe slapped Clayworth on the shoulder, making Clayworth's body sway involuntarily. Pussroe then looked at Linley, laughing heartily. "Linley, I heard you were back in the city, so I came looking for you. I have a matter to discuss with you."

"Oh?" Linley was a bit surprised. "Pussroe, what's the matter?"

"Someone wants to see Bebe," Pussroe said directly.

Linley was startled. "Who wants to see Bebe?"

Pussroe shook his head. "I can't say. But that person is very mysterious. He asked me to bring Bebe to see him. Linley, you agreed to let Bebe go out for a while, right?"

"Go where? Inside the city or outside?" Although Linley trusted Pussroe, he was still very worried about Bebe's safety.

"Don't worry, it's inside the city," Pussroe said with a smile.

Only then did Linley feel reassured. Inside the city, even a Seven-Star Fiend wouldn't dare to make a move, as the rule against fighting in the city was common throughout the entire Infernal Realm. It was a rule established by the Sovereigns. Who would dare to violate it?

"Bebe, what do you think?" Linley turned to look at Bebe.

Bebe's eyes lit up, and he grinned. "I'm really curious to see this mysterious person who wants to meet me."
