Chapter 32: Violet Light Pierces the Sky
Linley also turned his head in surprise, looking over: "It really is Olivia!" But at this moment, Olivia was surrounded by a group of people. Linley swept his gaze over them and remained calm in his heart. "These eleven are all mid-level gods, nothing to fear. But seeing them surrounding Olivia, could it be that Olivia has obtained some treasure?"
Thinking this, Linley still flew toward Olivia, with Delia and Bebe naturally flanking him.
"Haha, Olivia, what's wrong with you?" Bebe said with a grin. "Need our help?"
When Olivia saw Linley and the other two flying over, he immediately recognized them: "Linley and his wife, and that Bebe." Olivia couldn't help but smile bitterly inwardly. In his view, Linley had only been a low-level god in the past, and after decades, even if Linley had improved, he'd probably just be a mid-level god at most.
"The three of them, coming at a time like this!" Olivia sighed inwardly.
In such a hurried moment, Olivia didn't bother to carefully assess the strength of Linley's group. After all, in Olivia's mind, the three of them were at most three mid-level gods. Yet there were eleven mid-level gods around them!
"Three of you!" Suddenly, a mid-level god blocked Linley's path. "This is a matter between us and Olivia. The three of you should leave."
Suddenly—
"Whoosh!"
A blurry afterimage flashed, and a leg shadow, like lightning, viciously kicked this mid-level god in the chest. His ribs shattered and caved in, and the mid-level god was sent flying like a sandbag deep into the Mist Sea. And this was the Mist Sea!
One couldn't venture too deep into the Mist Sea beyond the danger limit. This kick had sent him flying dozens of meters. At the most critical moment, the mid-level god let out an angry roar and forcibly stopped himself.
"You—" The mid-level god pointed angrily at Bebe, who was wearing a straw hat.
"You what?" Bebe glared back and shouted, "My boss and I were flying along just fine, and you suddenly blocked our path. If I didn't kick you, who would I kick? Kid, I was holding back just now. Otherwise, I'd have kicked you to death!"
The eleven mid-level gods were furious. But despite their anger, they were also shocked.
That kick from Bebe was too fast! Even though it was at close range, the opponent couldn't block it in time. In fact... Bebe was naturally skilled in the Illusory Shadow Clone Technique, and as a divine beast, the Soul-Devouring Rat, his body was incredibly tough, making his speed naturally fast.
"Three of you, aren't you going too far?" The leader of the group spoke up.
Linley and Delia didn't say anything, but Bebe looked at them sideways: "Going too far? You call that going too far? I was very polite just now. If I were really going too far, do you think you eleven would still be alive?" Bebe's gaze swept over the eleven, as if looking at prey.
"Captain, that woman, that woman is a high-level god demon!" A telepathic message entered the leader's mind.
"A high-level god demon?" The leader was startled.
Because among Linley's group, judging by their flying positions, Linley was clearly the leader, so many hadn't paid much attention to the gentle-looking woman. But when they looked closely, they realized... they couldn't sense any aura from Delia at all.
A high-level god! And a high-level god demon at that!
Not just the leader, but the others also noticed this.
"Hey, why is everyone so quiet?" Bebe, as a divine beast Soul-Devouring Rat, had an inherently violent and battle-hungry nature. He was itching for a fight now, glaring fiercely at the eleven. "Didn't you say I was going too far? Come on, I'll show you what too far really means!"
"No need!" The leader immediately shouted, his expression turning humble.
"Huh?" Bebe looked at him sideways.
The leader forced a smile: "Since the three of you know Olivia, we won't disturb your reunion." Then he glanced at the others. The eleven mid-level gods silently and swiftly flew away.
In an instant, only Linley's group and Olivia remained.
"They sure ran fast!" Bebe muttered.
But Olivia was stunned: "They fled?" The temptation of a pile of violet crystals for mid-level gods was something Olivia knew well. Just three mid-level gods wouldn't make eleven mid-level gods back down. Olivia's gaze swept over Bebe, Linley, and finally settled on Delia.
Olivia was shocked: "This Delia, she's actually a high, high-level god..."
"Olivia, long time no see." A gentle voice sounded as Linley, Delia, and Bebe flew up to Olivia.
"Olivia, looks like you're having a rough time," Bebe teased.
Olivia snapped out of his shock, showing a grateful expression: "Linley, I really have to thank you this time. If it weren't for you, I'd be in big trouble!" Olivia knew that without Linley's group, those eleven would have definitely attacked.
Right now, only his Radiant God clone had reached the mid-level god stage. In terms of strength, there were even some among those eleven stronger than him.
"Did you get some valuable treasure that made them greedy enough to gang up on you?" Linley asked.
Thinking about it, Olivia sighed: "Just now, out of nowhere, a pile of violet crystals flew out of the Mist Sea. It was a huge fortune. But fortune and misfortune go hand in hand. After I got that pile, it sparked their murderous intent."
Linley nodded in understanding.
Linley suddenly thought of someone and said, "Olivia, do you know Bacheler?"
"Bacheler? You've seen him?" Olivia was overjoyed. "How is Bacheler now? He must be doing better than me. Last mission, we got separated."
Seeing Olivia's expression, Linley knew that Bacheler and Olivia must have been close.
"He's dead," Linley said directly.
"Dead?" Olivia was stunned.
Linley sighed: "About twenty years ago, he and I took on the same escort mission. We got to know each other during the escort. But... on the way, we were ambushed by a strong enemy, and Bacheler was killed in the first wave of attacks."
Linley still vividly remembered the scene of Bacheler being crushed by that boulder. Looking back now, it all made sense. That volcano giant was Pusro, a peerless powerhouse with Asura-level strength. Killing a mid-level god with a few boulders was child's play.
Olivia was silent for a moment, then sighed: "Another one dead!"
Linley, Delia, and Bebe's hearts trembled. "Another one dead" sounded simple, but they could fully imagine the story behind those words.
"In the Infernal Realm, it's survival of the fittest. Conflict and killing are the main themes," Linley said. "From small tribes and bandit groups to six-star demons, seven-star demons, and even Asura-level experts, everyone fights."
"Yes, the strong survive." Olivia nodded.
"Linley, you three are doing much better than me in the Infernal Realm," Olivia said with a smile. He also noticed the demon badges on Linley's group's chests and knew Delia was a high-level god demon. "But what are you doing here?"
Olivia didn't believe Linley had come just to collect violet crystals. "We helped someone on the way and escorted him here. We also wanted to see the Violet Crystal Mountains. I've heard the Mist Sea scenery here is beautiful—one of the great wonders of the Infernal Realm," Linley said with a smile.
"Enjoying the scenery?" Olivia didn't know what to say.
When people struggle just to survive, they focus on getting stronger. Only when there's no danger do they think about enjoying beautiful views.
Just from the fact that Linley was enjoying the scenery in the Infernal Realm, Olivia knew Linley was living a comfortable life.
"Yeah, the scenery here is nice," Olivia could only agree.
"Hmm, what's happening?" Linley turned his head in confusion, looking into the distance. Intense energy fluctuations were coming from afar. Delia, Bebe, and Olivia also looked over. There were angry shouts and roars.
"Kill that white-robed kid! He got a huge pile of violet crystals!" A roar came from the distance.
This immediately attracted the attention of many nearby.
"Everyone, kill that white-robed kid!"
"Ah, the red-robed guy took it!"
The shouts continued, and in an instant, thousands of people surged over. It was chaos.
Even Linley's group was startled.
"Got a pile of violet crystals?" Olivia's expression was interesting. He had gotten one himself.
"Let's go check it out," Bebe said eagerly.
Linley nodded. Most of those collecting violet crystals here were mid-level or low-level gods. With their strength, they had nothing to fear in this place.
When Linley's group approached, the fierce fighting had already stopped, and a chase had begun. A group was pursuing a green-robed man holding a black spear. The green-robed man was flying for his life at top speed.
Linley's group watched as the crowd flew past them.
"Looks like that green-robed guy snatched the pile of violet crystals," Linley said with a faint smile.
"They're really crazy," Bebe muttered. "Isn't it just a pile of violet crystals? Is it worth all this?"
Olivia said, "That pile of violet crystals—each crystal is that big, and a small pile usually has over ten thousand crystals. Over ten thousand violet crystals are worth about seventy to eighty million inkstones. For mid-level gods, that's a huge fortune."
Bebe didn't care at all.
With assets over two hundred billion, why would he care about that?
"Of course, this kind of wealth means nothing to high-level god demons," Olivia added.
"Ah, a pile of violet crystals! It's him, kill him!" Another shout came from another direction, and another fierce fight broke out.
"Boom!" An explosion sounded from yet another direction.
Linley frowned: "Something's wrong. This isn't right." Linley could clearly sense that many places were erupting with intense energy fluctuations, all involving fights. Usually, one or two, or even dozens of violet crystals, wouldn't cause mid-level gods to fight. Unless it was a large pile!
Getting violet crystals required luck.
But now, fights were breaking out everywhere.
"What's going on?" Delia also frowned in confusion. "Could it be that piles of violet crystals are flying out from many places?"
Delia guessed right!
At that very moment, the entire Violet Crystal Mountains seemed to have suddenly become generous. In different places, large amounts of violet crystals flew out, sometimes in piles—some with thousands, others with millions of crystals gathered together.
Chaos!
So many violet crystals were enough to drive countless mid-level gods mad.
The Violet Crystal Mountains spanned hundreds of thousands of miles. Around the mountains, eighteen ancient castles were scattered, serving as strongholds for eighteen clans. But at this moment, figures were hovering above all eighteen castles.
"Sir, so many violet crystals are bursting out. The Violet Crystal Mountains seem to have gone mad," a black-robed man said respectfully to a purple-robed man hovering above one castle.
The purple-robed man stared at the Mist Sea, a joyful expression on his face: "Haha... violet light piercing the sky! It really is violet light piercing the sky! After so many years, the Mist Tide of the Violet Crystal Mountains has finally come again, haha..." The purple-robed man was overjoyed.
From outside, one could observe the Mist Sea.
Deep within the Mist Sea, a dazzling violet light shot up into the sky, piercing the clouds, blindingly bright.
"Rumble..."
The Mist Sea that enveloped the entire Violet Crystal Mountains also became violent, rolling like roaring waves and spreading outward in all directions. In an instant, the violent Mist Sea expanded by nearly ten miles, directly reaching the eighteen castles.
All the people who had been at the edge of the Mist Sea, preparing to collect violet crystals, had no time to react before they were swallowed by the Mist Sea.
