Chapter 27: Disaster Descends from the Heavens

In the dim cave dwelling, within the spacious main hall.

Three Linleys sat cross-legged, each wearing a robe of ochre yellow, pale cyan, and sky blue respectively. The strangest was the Linley in the ochre yellow robe. He seemed to teleport, appearing now in one corner of the hall, now in another.

The cave dwelling had been hollowed out by Linley’s sword strikes. Sword marks still covered the floor and walls.

While Linley and Delia cultivated in peace, Bebe was utterly bored.

“Cultivation is so complicated.”

Bebe sat on the hall floor, leaning against the stone wall, his straw hat tilted askew on his head. “Why can’t I just settle down and cultivate? If only I could be like Boss—even cultivating makes him smile!” Bebe muttered, staring at the three ‘Linleys.’

He didn’t like cultivation. Back in the Dark Forest, even the easiest ‘Dark Element’ to cultivate had required Grandpa Beirut’s help, and it had taken him nearly twenty years to succeed!

He held the straw hat before his eyes, looking at it. Naturally, he thought of Nini. A trace of sorrow flickered in Bebe’s eyes. “I wonder how Nini is doing now.”

After a moment.

Bebe flipped his hand and put the straw hat back on his head. “Forget it. No more brooding. Damn it, the more I think, the worse I feel. I’ll just cultivate seriously!” Bebe gritted his teeth. “I refuse to believe I can’t master the laws. I’m a Godeater Rat! Grandpa Beirut has helped me so much. If it were Boss, he’d probably comprehend those three profound mysteries of the law with ease. I need to be more serious too, and not embarrass myself too much. At the very least, I’ll comprehend these three profound mysteries first.”

Bebe closed his eyes and began to cultivate in silence.

After a long while, the Linley in the pale cyan robe stood up, thinking to himself: “So the Sound Wave profound mystery can reach this level. Not only does it create peculiar vibrations, causing internal resonance within matter, but it can also attack from the surface simultaneously. Combining internal and external forces, it is indeed an extremely terrifying material attack. But how does the Sound Wave profound mystery attack the soul?”

Linley was deep in thought when he suddenly noticed Bebe cultivating seriously. He couldn’t help but smile. “It’s rare to see Bebe cultivating so earnestly.” But at that moment—

“Boss, you’re done cultivating?” Bebe immediately opened his eyes.

“I was just praising you for cultivating seriously,” Linley said with a laugh.

Bebe stood up. “Boss, you know I cultivate the Dark Laws. I’m very sensitive to my surroundings. The moment you stood up, I woke up. By the way, Boss, why does your Earth divine clone keep shifting positions?”

“Don’t you remember that move Hedison used to change his body’s position back then?” Linley said with a smile.

“Right, it looks similar. Boss, have you mastered it?” Bebe asked excitedly.

“Not even close. I’ve only just begun,” Linley replied with a laugh.

This technique, which he had been cultivating for a long time, belonged to the ‘Earth Travel’ profound mystery among the six profound mysteries of the Earth Laws. In truth, mastering Earth Travel wasn’t that difficult. The ‘Earth Travel’ profound mystery and the ‘Earth Element’ profound mystery were actually somewhat connected.

To fully master the ‘Earth Element’ profound mystery, one had to reach a state of extreme harmony with the elements.

Cultivating ‘Earth Travel,’ on the other hand, involved merging one’s entire being into the elements and then using the elements to instantly transport oneself to a distant location. From the outside, it looked like teleportation, though it wasn’t truly teleportation.

If one had fully mastered the ‘Earth Element’ profound mystery, cultivating ‘Earth Travel’ would be relatively easy.

“Bebe, I remember that when you were in the volcanic cluster, you used a move that even destroyed Ali Quinn’s Highgod artifact. What was that about?” Linley had never had the chance to ask about this in detail.

Bebe pouted. “It’s a life-saving item Grandpa Beirut gave me. He said it could handle ordinary Highgods. But Grandpa Beirut told me back then that the energy in that black sphere could only be used three times. I’ve used it once, so there are only two uses left.”

Linley nodded slightly.

That move was indeed incredibly powerful. Even Ali Quinn, blocking it head-on, had his Highgod artifact destroyed. It was likely that even ordinary five-star or six-star Fiends would have perished.

“Hmm?”

Bebe suddenly looked toward the cave entrance. “Boss, I sense movement outside.” Linley’s expression changed. Instantly, his two divine clones and his main body merged into one. This time, Linley used his main body directly, and a layer of ‘Pulsating Armor’ spread over his skin.

At that moment—

A divine sense seeped in from outside, instantly covering the entire cave.

“Haha… just three Demigods!” A hearty laugh came from outside the cave. “All three of you, get the hell out here now!”

“Get out here!” Immediately, a chorus of angry shouts followed.

Linley frowned. From the sound of it, there seemed to be quite a few people outside. But now, Linley was much stronger than when he first arrived in the Infernal Realm. Especially after his main body’s draconic transformation, combined with the damaged ‘Soul Defense Sovereign Artifact,’ he was confident in dealing with ordinary Highgods. With his trump card—two drops of Sovereign power—he naturally had nothing to fear.

“Let’s go out and take a look,” Linley said.

Bebe, bold and confident in his skills, followed Linley toward the cave entrance.

As Linley stepped out, he saw a large group of people floating outside, forming an encirclement that had already surrounded the cave entrance. Linley immediately released his divine sense, covering the entire group.

“Eighty-two people. Three Demigods, the rest are all Demigods!” Linley felt reassured.

All Demigods. The current Linley had no reason to fear them.

“Boss, they’ve come looking for trouble with us,” Bebe said, a hint of a smile on his lips. He had been in a bad mood lately. Salomon’s true face and Nisse’s departure had both weighed heavily on him. But in front of Linley and Delia, Bebe always put on a cheerful, carefree act.

In truth, he was deeply troubled inside.

He had been holding it in for a long time. Now, Bebe wanted to let loose!

The leader of this powerful group, a silver-haired, one-horned man, laughed heartily. “What? Only the two of you came out? What about the woman inside? Tell her to come out too. Or do you think you can escape?”

“Haha! The woman? Big brother, I’ll take her,” said a similarly silver-haired, one-horned burly man beside him.

“No problem,” the leader laughed loudly.

The bandits all burst into raucous laughter.

Linley frowned. Bebe rubbed his nose, his gaze turning cold.

“I’ll give you a chance,” the leader said arrogantly. “Since you’re both Demigods, here’s the deal: hand over your spatial rings, and I’ll let you join us. Don’t worry—we’ll take your wealth, but you’ll get a share too.”

Linley shook his head inwardly.

These bandits were quite amusing. Robbing him and then asking him to join? But such things were indeed common in the Infernal Realm.

The leader continued, “Have you thought it over…”

“Damn it, enough with the nonsense!” Bebe roared angrily.

The bandits were stunned for a moment, then the leader’s face turned cold. “Brothers, since they don’t want to live, take care of them!” The leader waved his hand, signaling his men to attack. Clearly, three Demigods weren’t worth taking seriously.

“Whoosh!” “Whoosh!” “Whoosh!”

Some turned into a blur of afterimages, others into streaks of lightning or flames. Dozens of them charged forward in a swarm.

Bebe put his straw hat into his spatial ring and gripped his black dagger. Glancing at the swarm of bandits rushing toward him, he grinned fiercely and instantly executed ‘Shadow Clone Technique,’ sending dozens of afterimages charging forward.

“Haha, die!” A Demigod Fiend happened to stab Bebe’s true body, but his divine sword struck Bebe’s body with a “Clang!” without leaving even a scratch.

Bebe, however, struck back with his dagger.

“Swish!” He drove it straight into the Demigod Fiend’s head. A glint of bloodlust flickered in Bebe’s eyes.

“Next.”

Bebe thrust his dagger toward another enemy, not bothering to dodge any attacks himself.

The swarm of bandits, aside from those charging at Bebe, also rushed toward Linley at the cave entrance.

Linley stood at the entrance, holding the Bloodviolet Flexible Sword. As the bandits surged forward, a hazy purple blur suddenly appeared in Linley’s hand, moving at incredible speed. Yet, if one looked closely, it seemed almost sluggish.

Visual illusion!

“Pfft—”

Two heads were severed and simultaneously shattered into pulp by spatial vibrations. Two Demigod divine sparks fell from midair. The purple blur vanished.

“Too weak,” Linley thought to himself. His strongest material attack, ‘Misty Shadow,’ could threaten Highgods. Dealing with Demigods was effortless.

In an instant, eight bandits had died. Both the charging bandits and their leader, watching from behind, were shocked. They had hit a tough nut. The leader immediately shouted, “Brothers, group attack!”

The bandits quickly retreated and regrouped.

Linley and Bebe stood at the cave entrance.

“You killed eight of my brothers,” the leader said, his eyes blazing with murderous intent. “Brothers, attack together!”

Whether facing strong or weak enemies, this bandit group had different strategies. This time, though they seemed to charge in a swarm, their formation was different from before. The bandits positioned themselves in a specific pattern.

Almost simultaneously, they swung their weapons.

Having witnessed the chaotic battles of the Dragonblood Tribe and other tribes, Linley and Bebe knew the terror of such group attacks.

“Bebe, let’s kill them together!” Linley instantly transformed into his draconic form.

His immensely powerful body granted Linley incredible speed and strength. Channeling his internal energy and employing the profound mystery of speed, Linley shot toward the gathered bandits like a blur of cyan-gold. The bandits showed no surprise at Linley’s transformation.

In the Infernal Realm, there were countless races and lifeforms.

“Pfft!” “Pfft!”…

Over twenty soul attacks struck almost simultaneously, followed by material attacks. The remaining seventy-four bandits all unleashed their strikes. But Linley’s speed was too fast, and his body too small. Only two soul attacks hit him.

Two soul attacks from mere Demigods had no effect on Linley at all.

As for the five material attacks that struck his body, they didn’t even damage a single dragon scale!

The same was true for Bebe!

“Not good!” Seeing this, the leader’s expression changed.

Linley, his face grim, swung his eerie Bloodviolet Flexible Sword. The first strike cleaved toward the silver-haired, one-horned burly man. The man couldn’t dodge in time, and the sword passed through his head, shattering it into pulp.

“Pfft!”

Linley’s right leg, like a meteorite weighing billions of pounds, slammed into a green-haired man’s abdomen. “Boom!” The violent energy caused the man’s entire body to explode, leaving only his Demigod divine spark to fall.

This kick, infused with ‘Earth Pulse’ and the immense strength of Linley’s draconic body, was devastatingly powerful.

“Swish!” A man swung a battle blade through the air, aiming directly at Linley’s head.

“Swish!”

A flash of cyan-gold—it was Linley’s dragon tail. The sharp tail struck the battle blade with a “Clang!”, sending it flying, and then smashed the Demigod’s head into pulp.

In his draconic form, Linley was a living weapon, even more terrifying than a ‘Death God Puppet.’ After all, Linley not only had immense defense but also understood the profound mysteries of the laws!

Yet, Linley’s killing speed was only on par with Bebe, who was venting his frustration to the fullest.
