Chapter 28: Frenzied Revenge
The ten surviving demons and the nearly one hundred participants in the demon trials were all in shock. Surrounded by a large group of high-level gods, all staring at them with the cold, indifferent gaze one reserves for the dead, everyone present couldn't help but tremble inwardly.
"How did this happen?" Linley couldn't believe it.
They were about to return to Diyi City and become demons, but at the very last moment, they were surrounded by a group of high-level gods.
"What are you doing?" Loyce, the strongest among Linley's group, looked around and frowned as he spoke. Although Loyce wasn't confident about fighting so many high-level gods, he was still confident he could escape with his life.
"What are we doing?" One of the black-robed men sneered.
Suddenly—
Some of the black-robed men actively moved aside to create an opening, and a gray-robed man flew out.
"Master (Lord)!" All the black-robed men bowed respectfully.
But the gray-robed man stared at Loyce, his eyes filled with murderous intent, as if he wanted to devour Loyce alive.
"You, you are!!!" Loyce and several others stared in shock at the gray-robed man. This gray-robed man's appearance was exactly the same as that castle owner. At that moment, Loyce and the other demons who had seen the castle owner's face were stunned.
They all thought of one possibility!
"Could he be?" The castle owner who was killed was just a divine clone!
The gray-robed man's face was cold, a cruel smile curling at the corners of his mouth as he swept his gaze over Loyce and the others, finally settling on Loyce. His other divine clone had been killed by Loyce.
The one he hated the most was also Loyce.
"Who are you!" A loud roar rang out as the silver-haired elder flew to the front of the group, glaring at the gray-robed man. "This is a metallic lifeform belonging to the Demon Castle. You dare to destroy the Demon Castle's metallic lifeform, and it seems you want to make a move? Aren't you being a bit too arrogant?"
"The Demon Castle?"
The gray-robed man raised an eyebrow, then looked at him. "So what if it's the Demon Castle? I don't believe that the real experts from the Demon Castle's headquarters would come looking for me just because I killed you people. Besides... the powerful Seven-Star Demons are only in an employment relationship with the Demon Castle; they won't follow your orders."
The silver-haired elder was speechless.
"You ask who I am?" The gray-robed man lifted his chin slightly, looking disdainfully at the silver-haired elder. "I'll tell you. My name is Urnisen! Have you heard of it?"
"Urnisen?"
The silver-haired elder frowned slightly.
"Urnisen!" Loyce and the others were startled. Indeed, this gray-robed man was the castle owner, or more accurately, another divine clone.
"It's him!"
Linley, Delia, Bebe, Regina, and the others were all shocked and suddenly understood. Before the castle's black dragon was killed, it had shouted that it was Urnisen's. "No wonder he wants revenge," Linley thought fearfully. "And no wonder the castle owner, before he was killed, said that the one who killed him would regret it. The castle owner even said his name before he died. But it seems everyone forgot about him."
Linley could also see it.
Perhaps the name Urnisen was once very famous, but none of the people present knew it.
"Alas..." Urnisen let out a low sigh. "It seems I've been in seclusion for too long. Even you people from the Demon Castle have forgotten me."
Urnisen himself was just standing in mid-air, but the aura he naturally exuded as he spoke and laughed caused everyone, including Loyce, to feel terrified. Everyone understood... this was an extremely terrifying super-strong expert!
Just as Urnisen was sighing, Loyce and his third brother were communicating through divine sense.
"Boom!"
Suddenly, an air explosion sounded, and two afterimages shot towards the north.
Urnisen was standing to their south, so Loyce and the other didn't dare to flee in that direction and could only choose the north.
"Hmph!" Urnisen snorted coldly.
More than twenty black-robed men on the northern side of the encirclement simultaneously swung their right palms in perfect unison. Dense black light flowed between them, and a huge black net-like energy covered Loyce and the other.
As this large net descended, Loyce and the other were terrified and immediately flew back.
"Swoosh!" Urnisen moved at that moment, appearing beside Loyce in a blur. Loyce sneered and swung his light cyan curved blade in a backhand slash. But Urnisen simply flicked his finger, tapping it against the blade.
"Clang!"
A crisp sound rang out.
"Ah!" Loyce immediately let go of the light cyan curved blade. The blade fell straight down, while Loyce himself clutched his head in agony, letting out a miserable scream.
"Big brother!" The green-haired burly man shouted anxiously, but Loyce seemed not to hear him. He continued to convulse in mid-air, clutching his head and letting out agonizing screams.
"Big brother, what's wrong? What's wrong with you?" The green-haired burly man was extremely anxious.
"Stop!" Urnisen said calmly.
Loyce's screams abruptly ceased. Regaining his senses, he looked at Urnisen in terror. "You, you... is that a Soul Leech?"
"Soul Leech?" Hearing this name, the green-haired burly man and several demons turned pale instantly. The name Soul Leech was something they had only heard of occasionally due to their extensive knowledge. Even in the Black Sand Castle, this forbidden item, the Soul Leech, was difficult to purchase.
Even if it could be bought, the price was staggering.
Urnisen sneered. "That's right. I spent a great deal of effort to refine this Soul Leech."
"You... refined it?" Many present were stunned.
There might be many high-level gods in Hell who cultivated the Death Rules. However, those who could refine a Soul Leech were extremely rare. Throughout all of Hell, there were 108 Asuras, but whether there were even 108 people who could refine a Soul Leech was debatable.
"Do you think I would let you die so easily?" Urnisen sneered. "Wasting a Soul Leech on you, you should be proud of yourself."
"Proud?" Loyce's whole body trembled. Thinking of the terrifying effects of the Soul Leech and the pain he had just endured, beads of sweat broke out on Loyce's forehead.
"Bang!" Loyce gritted his teeth and suddenly struck his own head with his palm. He was attempting suicide!
But before his palm could reach his forehead, Loyce screamed in agony again. "Ah!" He clutched his head, his whole body convulsing, his face twisted. After a moment, Loyce stopped screaming. His face was pale, like a weak patient, as he looked at Urnisen in terror.
"I told you!" Urnisen looked down at Loyce like a sovereign god controlling the life and death of others. "I will make you regret it!"
Everyone was silent with fear.
Being able to refine a Soul Leech meant that this Urnisen had achieved astonishing mastery in the Death Rules.
"Hahaha!" Urnisen suddenly laughed like a madman. The laughter filled Linley and his group, who were surrounded, with terror. Urnisen's gaze swept over the other demons. "Everyone involved in this matter must die!"
Those demons, the nearly one hundred survivors of the demon trials, and the few people from the Demon Castle were all terrified.
"Boss," Bebe transmitted through divine sense.
"We'll have to see. At the very end, we can only choose to run," Linley said, not knowing what else to do.
Someone as powerful as Loyce was helpless against this Urnisen. Although Linley had never heard of a Soul Leech, he could tell from the others' conversations and expressions that this Soul Leech was no ordinary item.
"Urnisen, you, you can't!" The silver-haired elder quickly said. "Diyi City is right next to us. You, you can't..."
"Diyi City is right next to us? I'm not killing people inside Diyi City! What do I have to fear?" Urnisen sneered, his gaze coldly sweeping over Linley and the others. "Killing insignificant people like you is nothing!"
Linley was thinking rapidly.
"No, I have to survive." Linley looked at Delia and Bebe beside him. "There's no choice but to flee. When nearly a hundred people flee at the same time, they can't catch everyone. Besides, we're very close to Diyi City. There's a good chance we can make it there." Linley calculated in his mind.
"I can't die! I don't want to die!"
The other demons and all the participants in the demon trials were unwilling to die and were all thinking of ways to escape.
"Brothers, let's all run together!" Suddenly, a divine sense message echoed in the minds of all those surrounded.
Linley, Delia, and Bebe heard it and couldn't help but move.
"Head west," Linley transmitted.
At that moment, more than half of the nearly one hundred people surrounded charged in all directions.
"Boom!" All the black-robed men around them simultaneously swung their right palms. As before, dense black light flowed through each black-robed man. Looking closely, one could see that their robes had complex magical patterns. All the black-robed men worked together...
All directions were sealed off.
An inescapable net!
Linley and the others had nowhere to go. "Ah!" The fastest runners, who touched the black net, were struck by a powerful force and sent flying back.
Linley and the others all returned to their original positions.
"Run?" Urnisen looked at them disdainfully. "If I let you little brats escape, then I, Urnisen, wouldn't need to stay in Hell anymore." Urnisen glanced at the silver-haired elder, then said, "But, I'll give you a chance. A chance to not die."
Linley and the others couldn't help but look at this Urnisen.
"It's simple." Urnisen pointed at Linley and the others. "Among you people, one high-level god can live, and one mid-level god can live!" Urnisen smiled brightly. "Don't say I didn't give you a chance!"
Linley and the others were completely stunned, but then they all became alert, watching each other warily.
"Linley, what do we do now?" Delia transmitted.
Linley remained silent, but his eyes were full of anxiety.
What could he do? What could he do now?
"Pfft!"
Suddenly, someone made a move. The taut thread in everyone's mind snapped.
"Don't come near me!" Linley roared, swinging his Black Heavy Sword in a single slash. Urnisen roared, his long eyebrows flying wildly. "The last ones alive, I won't kill them. Haha, kill! Kill!" Urnisen's gaze was filled with madness.
At this moment, Urnisen just wanted to vent.
His divine clone had died, so he wanted everyone involved to suffer!
"Not die?"
Urnisen thought to himself, "Now I give them hope. When the last two are left, I'll make them suffer the most agonizing torture. I won't kill them, but I can make them wish they were dead!" Urnisen thought of the last two, who thought they could live, facing an even more terrible ending.
Urnisen couldn't help but feel excited and thrilled. "I told you, I will make you all regret it," Urnisen thought coldly.
Since he was taking revenge, how could Urnisen let anyone live?
"Hm?" Urnisen suddenly glanced over.
Loyce, very abruptly, plummeted straight down. This sudden descent caught the surrounding black-robed men off guard, unable to stop him.
"Run?" Urnisen immediately chased after him.
"Ah!" Loyce screamed in agony again in mid-air, but it was only one of his divine clones screaming. Loyce's other divine clone continued to fly downward at extreme speed. However, Urnisen appeared in front of him.
"Trying to run?" Urnisen looked at him disdainfully. "Did you think I didn't know you had a divine clone?"
