# Chapter 15: Emperor Wing Demon
"Stop right there!" A loud shout rang out.
But Linley and his two companions paid no attention and continued walking outside.
"Overbearing people exist everywhere. There's no point getting entangled with someone like this." Delia transmitted her voice to Linley.
"I understand." Linley also didn't want to continue this entanglement with Crompton. He wanted to leave the Demon Castle as soon as possible.
He wanted to leave, but someone else wouldn't allow it.
"Whoosh!"
Crompton's figure flashed and appeared in front of Linley, blocking the path of the three.
Linley, Delia, and Bebe all had unpleasant expressions on their faces. Especially Bebe—if Linley hadn't stopped him through soul transmission, he would have exploded long ago.
"Crompton, that guy just called you trash. How can you have no reaction?" Some people nearby, eager to stir up trouble, laughed and chattered. Their voices rose and fell, making Crompton's expression grow even uglier.
"These bastards!" Yuna, who was behind the counter, sensed something was wrong.
The surrounding demons were either holding wine glasses or chatting with each other, all watching the show on the sidelines... Crompton, among his circle of friends, actually held a relatively low status. This was because Crompton had become a god by refining a divine spark.
Although he was a Highgod, having only refined a divine spark meant he hadn't fused even a single profound mystery of the laws. He belonged to the weakest category of Highgods.
After so many years, he was merely a Three-Star Demon.
Highgods could generally become Four-Star Demons. Being a Three-Star Demon—just this fact alone invited ridicule. Crompton had low strength, so naturally he didn't dare act arrogantly toward his friends. This long-term suppression inevitably caused him to vent his frustrations on those weaker than himself.
Mocking the weak—Crompton did this often.
"You called me trash!"
Crompton stared at Linley, his eyes faintly reddening. He breathed heavily, like an enraged bull.
It was one thing for his friends to mock him, but when he merely said a few words to this Lowgod, and this Lowgod dared to talk back! Crompton was naturally furious!
"You, a Lowgod, the lowest of the low, actually dare to curse me!" Crompton was so angry he wanted to strike, but thinking of the Imperial Wing City's prohibition, he knew very well how terrifying this ban was... once he made a move, the consequences were something he didn't want to bear.
"Enough."
Suddenly, a demon with silver long hair sitting in the distance said calmly, "Crompton, let this matter go. You were also in the wrong. Don't keep dragging this on."
"I was wrong!" Crompton's eyes widened. He pointed at Linley and then at the black-haired youth. "Look at these two. One is just a Lowgod, and the other... has failed the Demon Trial twice in a row and was lucky to escape with his life. Such a useless waste still dares to come for the Demon Trial. Tell me, isn't it right for me to say a few words to them?"
The black-haired youth 'Angelo' had been holding back all along.
He thought Crompton would stop after saying a few words, but never expected Crompton to refuse to let it go and point at him, calling him a 'useless waste.'
"This is Imperial Wing City. What am I afraid of?" The black-haired youth gritted his teeth.
"Useless waste?" The black-haired youth raised his head, staring at Crompton. "You're calling me a useless waste?"
"If you're not a useless waste, then who is?" Crompton didn't put 'Angelo' in his eyes at all, his gaze filled with disdain.
The black-haired youth 'Angelo's' voice trembled slightly as he said in a low voice, "You call me a useless waste? Then let me ask you—if it were you, having failed the Demon Trial twice in a row, nearly dying both times, would you still dare to participate in a third Demon Trial? Would you dare?"
Crompton was stunned.
Would he dare?
He wouldn't!
"That's not courage; that's stupidity." Crompton was very displeased with the way this black-haired youth looked at him. "And this guy is even more stupid—a Lowgod wanting to participate in the Demon Trial." Crompton turned to look at Linley.
"Bebe, Delia, let's go."
Linley frowned. He didn't want to get entangled with this kind of person any longer. He knew... Crompton had anger in his belly right now, and since he couldn't use his hands, he could only vent with his mouth.
"Folks, I'll bet you—watch this. If this guy participates in the Demon Trial, he'll definitely die." Crompton was still talking over there. One of his friends nearby snorted and said, "Still betting? A Lowgod participating in the Demon Trial? Of course he'll die. Everyone knows that."
"Boss, one day, I'm going to make that bald bastard pay." Bebe transmitted his voice.
"Don't mind him." Linley said indifferently. Suddenly, Linley's eyes widened as he stared in shock at the outside of the Demon Castle. In the distant sky, several blurry figures flashed and arrived at the castle entrance in an instant. Their speed was simply astonishing. And most importantly—
They actually dared to fly!
"Flying within Imperial Wing City? How dare they?" Linley was extremely shocked.
Having been in Imperial Wing City for so long, he knew there were naturally many people here, and many Highgods as well. But no one dared to fly. Everyone walked on the ground. Some might use movement techniques to walk faster, but... everyone stayed on the ground.
The four who landed at the castle entrance stepped into the Demon Castle hall. One walked in front, while the other three followed behind him.
The leader had slightly wavy golden long hair and wore a golden robe. The most peculiar thing was that his eyebrows were white, and his pupils were golden.
White eyebrows, golden pupils!
Even just standing there, this person gave off a sharp feeling. After stepping into the Demon Castle hall, the golden-haired middle-aged man swept his gaze around. Everyone his gaze passed over felt a tremor in their very souls. An absolute powerhouse!
Crompton was facing Linley and Angelo, so naturally he didn't see the newcomers. He was still smugly saying, "Not just this brown-haired kid, but also that Angelo. If he participates in the Demon Trial, he'll definitely die too."
But many people in the Demon Castle hall had already noticed the newcomers. Immediately, over a dozen people, including Yuna, bowed respectfully and said, "Lord City Lord!"
City Lord?
Linley and his two companions were greatly shocked.
Crompton, who was still chatting and laughing, was startled by the sound. He quickly turned to look. Seeing the white-browed, golden-pupiled middle-aged man, he didn't recognize him at all, but he had still heard the others shouting 'Lord City Lord' just now.
"Greetings, Lord City Lord." Others who had reacted immediately bowed.
"Greetings, Lord City Lord." By this time, Crompton had also reacted and hurriedly bowed.
At the same time, these demons, their eyes shining, secretly glanced at this white-browed, golden-pupiled middle-aged man. Was the person before them the legendary City Lord of Imperial Wing City?
The pride of all Imperial Wing City, the Seven-Star Demon 'Emperor Wing'?
Demons were divided into seven levels. The highest level, 'Seven-Star Demon,' was absolutely the pinnacle powerhouse of the Infernal Realm. Every Seven-Star Demon had a unique title. This Emperor Wing Demon's title was 'Emperor Wing.'
Demon 'Emperor Wing's' fame had long spread throughout the entire Infernal Realm. Perhaps he wasn't as famous as the 'Purple Blood' and 'Silver Moon' demons, who were known for slaughter, but in terms of strength, being both Seven-Star Demons, there wasn't much difference.
"Seven-Star Demon!"
Angelo also looked excitedly at the person before him. He had always dreamed that one day he too could become a supreme Seven-Star Demon.
"So terrifying, definitely not weaker than Azurefire." Linley inexplicably felt this way upon seeing this Emperor Wing. He had never discovered... that someone's mere gaze could make one's soul tremble. Such strength was simply astonishing.
The white-browed, golden-pupiled Emperor Wing glanced at Crompton: "What were you just saying? That someone participating in the Demon Trial would definitely die?"
Crompton's whole body trembled.
The surrounding demons didn't dare make a sound. Crompton said fearfully, "Lord City Lord, I, I was just saying that this brown-haired kid and the black-haired kid by the counter would definitely die if they participated in the trial." As he spoke, Crompton's confidence waned.
"Oh? Why do you say that?" Emperor Wing seemed interested.
"Well, this brown-haired kid is just a Lowgod. A Lowgod wanting to participate in the Demon Trial would naturally die." Crompton had never felt that a Seven-Star Demon could be so terrifying. Just having his gaze on him made his heart tremble.
Both were Highgods, yet the gap was so enormous!
"Oh, a Lowgod wanting to participate in the Demon Trial?" Emperor Wing nodded slightly. "And the other one?"
"This black-haired kid has already failed... failed the Demon Trial twice in a row, but he was lucky enough to keep his life both times. This time he still wants to participate in the Demon Trial..." Crompton said this and then stopped.
Emperor Wing, however, looked appreciatively at the black-haired youth 'Angelo.'
Then he fixed his gaze on Crompton: "What's your name?"
"Crompton." Crompton said nervously.
"You're a Highgod now, but you became a god by refining a divine spark." Emperor Wing said with a faint smile.
"Yes." Crompton quickly nodded.
Emperor Wing continued: "If I'm not mistaken, you should be a Three-Star Demon." From the surface, whether a Demon Medal was one-star or seven-star, it was generally impossible to tell. Special appraisal was needed to determine that.
Emperor Wing could judge at a glance—this was indeed astonishing.
"Yes, a Three-Star Demon." Crompton nodded.
"A Highgod, yet only a Three-Star Demon. That's low." Emperor Wing said indifferently.
Crompton was deeply ashamed. A Highgod being a Three-Star Demon was indeed a shameful thing. Especially being called out by Lord Emperor Wing himself, how could he not be ashamed?
"This black-haired kid, failing twice in a row yet not giving up. Although somewhat reckless, his fighting spirit is commendable... If you could learn that, you would have reached Four-Star long ago." Emperor Wing said calmly. Crompton could only respond obediently.
If Lord Emperor Wing scolded him, he could only take it.
Emperor Wing then walked over to Linley and said with a faint smile, "You want to participate in the Demon Trial?"
Linley hadn't expected this Emperor Wing to speak directly to him. The person before him was a Seven-Star Demon, the City Lord of Imperial Wing City!
"I came to take a look this time. I plan to participate in the Demon Trial in a few decades." Linley replied respectfully.
"A few decades?" Emperor Wing smiled faintly. "Young man, there's nothing shameful about a Lowgod wanting to participate in the Demon Trial. Back in the day, when I was still a Lowgod, I also went to participate in the Demon Trial."
Many surrounding demons immediately pricked up their ears. They had never heard that Lord Emperor Wing had such an experience.
Of course... no one knew how many years ago Imperial Wing City had been established. One could fully imagine how long Lord Emperor Wing had been cultivating.
Linley looked up in surprise at the Emperor Wing before him.
"Of course, I failed that time. Fortunately, I managed to keep my life. Later, after reaching the Demigod level, I participated in the Demon Trial again." Emperor Wing said with a faint smile. "Young man, it's best for you to reach the Demigod level before participating in the Demon Trial. The Demon Trial is a one-star difficulty mission. Even Demigods need to expend great effort to complete it. A Lowgod... the probability of success is too low, far too low!"
Linley felt grateful to Lord Emperor Wing before him.
At least he was giving him advice.
Someone of Lord Emperor Wing's noble status, speaking with a smile and gently advising him—how could Linley not be grateful?
Emperor Wing gave Linley another deep look, then turned and led his three subordinates upstairs. After Lord Emperor Wing left, the entire Demon Castle hall erupted into commotion. All the demons were extremely excited.
"It's Lord Emperor Wing! The powerhouse I admire most!"
Many demons were extremely excited, talking about Lord Emperor Wing's matters, no longer discussing Linley or Angelo. After all, the matters of Linley and Angelo were just trivial.
Top floor of the Demon Castle.
"How interesting today. That brown-haired kid actually carries a trace of the Four Divine Beasts Clan's aura." Emperor Wing sighed with emotion.
"Four Divine Beasts Clan? Lord, isn't that in the Prefecture of Azure Dragon of the Bloodridge Continent? How could they appear here?" One of Emperor Wing's three subordinates spoke up.
Emperor Wing said with a faint smile: "The Four Divine Beasts Clan has always been prosperous, with a very large number of clan members. It's not unusual for one to appear here." Emperor Wing merely found it interesting. After all, a disciple of the Four Divine Beasts Clan from the Prefecture of Azure Dragon wasn't worth his attention.
