Chapter 17: The Heavy Sword "Wuless"
The speed of a lightning bolt born from the natural heavens was countless times faster than the lightning controlled by a thunder-attribute magician. No one present even had time to react before that cyan lightning bolt struck the heavy sword.
"Ah!" Vicente let out a miserable cry, and wild cyan flames suddenly erupted all over his body, even mixed with a trace of silver-white flame.
"Clang!" The heavy sword fell to the side.
But Vicente himself collapsed to the ground, his entire body convulsing nonstop, especially his right arm, which was completely charred, even giving off the smell of burnt flesh. Lying on the ground, still twitching, he coughed up mouthfuls of blood.
"Father." Meteor and Trey, the two brothers, immediately cried out in alarm and rushed over.
"Mr. Vicente." Linley, Monroe Dawson, and the others were also greatly shocked.
The power of a lightning bolt sent down from the heavens was terrifyingly immense; there were cases of powerful warriors being struck dead by lightning. A group of people immediately gathered around, and Monroe Dawson shouted loudly, "Quick, get Mr. Amanda over here, hurry!"
Amanda was a light-attribute magician under Monroe Dawson's command, also proficient in pharmacology. He was very skilled at saving people.
"Yes." The guard at the door had also witnessed the scene and immediately panicked as he went to find Magician Amanda.
Magician Amanda arrived quickly. This old man with a snow-white beard asked no questions and directly cast a light-attribute spell. Vicente's completely charred right arm visibly recovered at an astonishing speed. Soon, not a trace of a scar remained.
"I... I'm fine." Vicente forced out these words with difficulty.
"How are your internal injuries?" Magician Amanda asked directly.
For powerful warriors, it was entirely possible to perform internal observation. This was more accurate than a magician judging from external signs.
Vicente shook his head and said, "It's nothing. It'll be fine in a while."
"Mr. Amanda, you don't need to worry about my father's injuries," Meteor said directly.
These two remarks puzzled Monroe Dawson, Yale, Linley, Reynolds, George, and the others. They could all see that Vicente was currently very weak. Vicente was a very powerful warrior. Being this weak now meant it was definitely not a minor issue.
Linley suddenly recalled a description of the Violet Flame Warriors from his family's books.
Violet Flame Warriors who reached the Saint Domain had the ability to undergo Nirvana Rebirth. Under normal circumstances, no matter how severe their injuries, they could recover at an astonishing speed.
"This Master Vicente is only at the cyan flame level, barely stepping into the silver-white flame level. He's still far from the highest violet flame level. He probably doesn't have the Nirvana Rebirth ability yet, but he should still have the ability to repair injuries," Linley understood.
The Four Ultimate Warriors.
The Dragonblood Warrior was considered the most powerful in combat, the Violet Flame Warrior was famous for Nirvana Rebirth through violet flames, the Tiger Pattern Warrior was known for speed and attack, and the Undying Warrior was renowned for strength and defense.
"Uncle Dawson, Master Vicente has a secret method for healing injuries. He doesn't need those potions," Linley also said.
Monroe Dawson nodded and said a few words to Magician Amanda, who gave Vicente some instructions before leaving. As for Vicente, he lay down to rest for about ten minutes, and his complexion visibly improved.
Linley couldn't help but marvel. The healing ability of the Violet Flame Warrior family was truly remarkable.
"Linley, the heavy sword." As soon as Vicente felt a little better, he became anxious about the heavy sword. "Let me see it quickly. Make sure the heavy sword wasn't damaged by the strike."
At this point, the group finally noticed the heavy sword that had been tossed aside. What they saw was astonishing. The originally pitch-black heavy sword now had a cyan glow on its surface, as if a layer of cyan ice had condensed on it.
"Let me see it." Vicente immediately said.
Linley grabbed the heavy sword and quickly handed it to Vicente.
Vicente, whose injuries had not yet fully recovered, even had difficulty lifting the heavy sword. He only held the hilt while the tip rested on the ground. With a serious expression, Vicente began tapping on the blade of the heavy sword with his left hand.
"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"
Clear tapping sounds rang out continuously. Vicente's tapping force grew stronger and stronger, and the sound grew louder. He tapped various areas of the entire heavy sword, constantly shifting the points of impact.
Vicente himself listened intently to the sounds.
Linley, Monroe Dawson, and the others held their breath completely. They understood that Vicente was checking whether the heavy sword had undergone any changes after being struck by lightning. After all, the lightning strike had occurred right after quenching.
"Clang—"
With a light flick of his finger, the entire heavy sword emitted a pleasant sound. Hearing the nearly perfect, mellow tone, Vicente's face lit up with ecstasy.
"Heaven's will, heaven's will."
Vicente's face was full of wild joy as he looked at Linley. "Linley, this is heaven wanting you to have this divine sword."
"Mr. Vicente, what happened to the heavy sword?" Monroe Dawson immediately asked.
Vicente explained, "When using Blackstone for forging, the hardest part is fully utilizing the properties of Blackstone. After all, the other materials are several grades lower than Blackstone. Although my family's secret formula can achieve a higher degree of fusion between the other materials and Blackstone, it can never reach one hundred percent."
"In other words, the material of the heavy sword I just forged was not completely uniform internally; there were still subtle differences."
Vicente's face was full of disbelief. "But I never expected that right after I finished quenching, that lightning bolt struck down. This lightning bolt actually caused the internal material of the heavy sword to perfectly fuse. The properties of Blackstone were fully utilized. I simply can't believe something like this could happen. It truly is heaven's will, heaven's will."
Linley's heart was also filled with joy.
"Third brother, congratulations." Yale, Reynolds, and George immediately laughed and said. The three of them understood that after this lightning strike, Linley's heavy sword had essentially been upgraded.
"That's not all. Look, the surface of the heavy sword has a cyan glow. I've touched it. The surface is smooth to an unbelievable degree. I'm afraid this heavy sword will kill without leaving a trace of blood in the future," Vicente said cheerfully.
"Kill without leaving blood." Monroe Dawson also praised.
The formation of this heavy sword was indeed somewhat miraculous, and it drew admiration from everyone.
"This heavy sword was originally pitch-black, but the cyan layer covering its surface makes it look deep cyan at first glance," Yale also marveled.
The heavy sword had an imposing appearance.
"Meteor, bring the scale and ruler." Vicente immediately ordered. Once a weapon was successfully forged, one naturally needed to know its exact specifications. Linley could feel that the heavy sword was very heavy, but he didn't know the precise number.
Monroe Dawson also watched happily as everyone began testing the heavy sword's exact data.
"The heavy sword is one point four one meters long, and the weight..." When Yale and the others measured the exact numbers, they were somewhat surprised.
"Three thousand six hundred jin! The heavy sword is one point four one meters long and weighs three thousand six hundred jin!" Reynolds was the first to exclaim. This was indeed a domineering heavy sword. Given Linley's height, the length was about right for him.
Moreover, Linley's body was still slowly growing, and his strength would continue to increase. Handling this heavy sword would naturally become easy.
"Third brother, what should this heavy sword be called? Give it a name quickly," Yale said first.
Vicente and the others also looked at Linley.
Reynolds interjected, "It was struck by lightning. I think 'Heavenly Thunder' would be good, right? It has a lot of presence."
"Too cliché," George shook his head.
"Then how about 'Thunder Might'?" Reynolds continued.
Yale and the others laughed. Monroe Dawson teased, "Reynolds, why call it 'Thunder Might'? Just call it 'Reynolds' directly. Haha..." This made Reynolds pout and snort in dissatisfaction.
"There's no need to force a connection with lightning," Linley said with a smile. "Since this heavy sword can't be sharpened, let's call it Wuless. Heavy Sword Wuless. What do you think?" Linley casually came up with the name. The name was simple, but Linley liked it.
"Wuless? Heavy Sword Wuless? Not bad." Yale nodded.
"Wuless."
Vicente, Meteor, Trey, and the others also savored the name and finally nodded.
That day, Monroe Dawson gave Linley a scabbard for the heavy sword. The scabbard was made of deep cyan metal and was only half a meter long. Both ends of the scabbard were open. When Linley inserted the heavy sword into the scabbard, more than half of it was exposed.
This was the typical design for heavy sword scabbards. A scabbard that completely covered the entire heavy sword would be too long. Once a warrior drew the heavy sword, carrying a meter-long scabbard on his back would be cumbersome. The half-meter scabbard was much more convenient.
At the banquet that day.
Linley was dressed in warrior attire, carrying this heavy sword on his back. Having trained for a long time, Linley stood one point nine meters tall and was very robust. Wearing the warrior outfit, his sturdy physique was fully displayed, and carrying that heavy sword gave him the aura of a heavy sword warrior.
"Haha, Linley." Monroe Dawson looked at Linley with a smile. "I think if someone saw you, they would never guess that you are a genius magician."
Linley was slightly stunned, then also laughed.
With this outfit, outsiders would indeed find it hard to see him as a magician.
"I remember when we first arrived at Ernst Academy, we were in first grade, and Third Brother was only nine years old. He easily lifted that so-called first-place winner of the grade competition with one hand and threw him far away. That's when I knew Third Brother also had strong warrior talent," Yale said cheerfully.
The banquet was enjoyable for everyone. Linley was overjoyed to have obtained this heavy sword.
"In a while, I must thoroughly study the methods of using the heavy sword," Linley decided in his heart. When he first obtained the Purple Blood Soft Sword, he had also spent several months fully mastering its usage.
However, Linley had a feeling that the Purple Blood Soft Sword was only about speed and strangeness. It wasn't difficult to practice.
But this heavy sword weighed three thousand six hundred jin.
It seemed that using the heavy sword was just simple actions like chopping, blocking, smashing, and so on... But Linley understood that those were just simple movements. The essence of using the heavy sword was definitely not that simple. Because his ancestors had also described methods for using heavy hammers. Clearly, using heavy weapons was much more profound.
To truly master a heavy weapon to its peak.
Was very difficult.
But once successful, the power would be immense.
The banquet ended.
Linley began to simply swing the heavy sword in the spacious courtyard of the Dawson Chamber of Commerce's mansion, feeling the sensations of thrusting, chopping, and smashing with the heavy sword. Just as Linley was immersed in experiencing the mysteries of the heavy sword—
"Boss, Boss, come back quickly. That Clayde has appeared." Bebe's voice suddenly rang in Linley's mind.
Linley's mind snapped back from the heavy sword.
"Clayde is back." Linley felt his calm heart suddenly surge with excitement, and all his strength swelled. Without bothering to explain much to his good brothers, he said his goodbyes and quickly headed back to his residence alone.
