Chapter 30: Die, but Still Kill!
The group of warriors who charged in right behind the Ice Snow Lion were stunned by the scene in the courtyard.
"What kind of monster is this?"
In the courtyard stood a creature whose entire body was covered in black scales, with spikes on its back that emitted a cold metallic gleam, and a steel-whip-like dragon tail that constantly lashed about. Especially when this monster turned its head to look at them, they all noticed its eerie, dark-golden pupils.
Within those dark-golden pupils lay only ruthlessness, indifference, and the lust to kill!
"Roar!" The Ice Snow Lion showed no fear and was the first to charge at the creature that everyone saw as a monster.
The numerous azure-blue sharp cones shot from the Ice Snow Lion's mouth, but the monster didn't dodge at all, letting them crash against the scales on its body. The sounds of crackling impacts and shattering rang out. These attacks didn't harm it in the slightest.
"Get lost!" A hoarse, low roar bellowed from the monster's mouth.
Its right leg traced a crescent-shaped afterimage and slammed heavily into the Ice Snow Lion's body. The Ice Snow Lion was actually sent flying from the kick. This was an eighth-rank magical beast, yet it was kicked away with a single blow.
How could they know that after fully dragonizing, Linley had stepped into the threshold of the ninth rank?
"Kill him, kill him for me!!!" Clayd roared furiously.
The experts who had been shocked by the scene before them finally snapped back to their senses. One by one, they roared in anger, drew their weapons, and charged at Linley. At the same time, the magical beasts belonging to these experts also began to rush at Linley.
Snow Wolves, Blood Warhorses, Mammoths, Azure Wind Eagles...
One magical beast after another surged toward Linley from the ground and the air. Linley was like a vortex, drawing all the surrounding warriors and magical beasts toward him. This kind of numerical pressure was truly terrifying.
Linley stared fixedly at Clayd ahead. Bebe was continuously attacking Clayd, draining the energy of the Fateguard on his body.
"Clayd, today, I will kill you." Linley didn't care at all about the surrounding warriors. The strongest among the warriors who appeared now was only an eighth-rank warrior. Although Linley's dragonization had only just reached the ninth rank, he had inherited the greatest advantage of the Spiked Back Iron-Armored Dragon—terrifying defense!
An eighth-rank attack, in front of the scales covering Linley's entire body, couldn't harm him in the slightest.
"Hah!" A burly warrior, as sturdy as a tiger and bear, standing a full two meters tall, raised a massive battle-axe and swung it fiercely at Linley. The surface of the axe blade glowed with a fiery red light, even raising the temperature of the surrounding air.
"Get lost."
Linley didn't dodge at all. His sharp claws clenched into an iron fist, and the fist pierced through the air, smashing directly into the axe blade at an astonishing speed.
"Bang!"
The solid, extremely heavy battle-axe was shattered into pieces by Linley's fist. Linley's fist was unaffected and directly pierced through the chest of this burly warrior. Just as it pierced through the warrior's chest, Linley's other hand also shot in rapidly—
"Hah!"
Linley exerted force with both arms and tore the burly warrior apart from the middle, splitting him into two halves. Blood poured over Linley's scales, making him look like a demon straight from hell.
"Second Brother!"
The other three warriors immediately shouted in fury. The one Linley had killed was one of the four eighth-rank warriors. The eyes of these three middle-aged men instantly turned red, and they immediately charged at Linley with their magical beasts.
"Smack!" Linley's dragon tail suddenly lashed out fiercely to the side.
A tall, thin, golden-haired man who had been preparing to ambush Linley from behind was struck directly on the head by Linley's tail, his skull shattering and blood splattering everywhere.
"He's a demon, a demon! Everyone, kill him!" The people who had been completely terrified by Linley immediately started shouting.
At this moment, more and more people were flooding into the courtyard from afar. Even the guards from Linley's own estate had rushed over and begun attacking Linley. Because the scales completely covered his body, even his face, no one knew... that this monster was Linley!
In everyone's mind, this was a terrifying demon!
Kill!
"Your Majesty, you must leave quickly." Two eighth-rank warriors jumped to Clayd's side, but before their words even faded, a black shadow shot toward one of them. The two eighth-rank warriors reacted extremely quickly, their bodies blurring into afterimages.
"Ah!"
A chunk of flesh was torn from one warrior's shoulder. The black shadow continuously attacked one of the eighth-rank warriors. Using its sharp claws and fangs, in just a short time, it had bitten and torn over a dozen pieces of flesh from this warrior, blood gushing out continuously.
Excessive blood loss and severe muscle tearing caused this eighth-rank warrior to stumble.
"Crack!"
A sharp claw slapped directly onto his head. His skull shattered, and he died on the spot.
"Bebe, attack Clayd!" Linley's voice rang out in Bebe's mind.
"Got it, Boss!"
"Whoosh!" Clayd took the opportunity to leap out of the courtyard.
"Yow!" Bebe's piercing shriek rose again, turning into an extremely fast black afterimage that crashed directly into the courtyard wall. The already cracked wall collapsed with a loud crash, and Bebe charged straight out, launching a rapid assault on Clayd.
"Kill this demon! Everyone, kill him!" Clayd shouted loudly.
"Your Majesty!"
More and more people were flooding into Linley's estate. The thousands of soldiers from the royal palace had all rushed over to protect the king. Many nobles, upon noticing the commotion, also immediately ordered their men to protect His Majesty the King. Linley's estate was now packed with a sea of people.
People were everywhere!
"Glory!"
"Glory!"
The knight squad from the Radiant Church immediately rushed in front of Clayd. All the knights simultaneously attacked the rapidly flashing black shadow. To protect His Majesty, countless soldiers sacrificed their lives without hesitation.
"Yow!"
Bebe's shriek rose again, and his speed increased even more. Bebe's eerie figure, sharp claws and fangs, and astonishing defense made him the embodiment of death. One warrior after another fell.
Some had their chests pierced directly by Bebe, some had their necks severed and heads sent flying, some had their skulls shattered...
Bebe continuously weaved through the crowd, attacking Clayd time and again. Clayd could clearly feel the energy on his body being constantly drained.
"This pet of Linley's is too terrifying." Only now did Clayd fully understand Linley's strength.
At this moment, Linley was completely trapped by the sea of people. His strength was formidable, but with so many people and magical beasts swarming him, even if he killed one with each move, it would still take a considerable amount of time.
"I can't delay. If a Saint-level expert from the Radiant Church arrives, I'll have no chance at all."
Looking at the warriors surging toward him, shouting "Glory," "For His Majesty," and "Demon," Linley's heart grew more and more anxious. There were also many mages in the distance occasionally launching attacks at him.
"Smack!"
"Bang!"
Linley's body was like a firework display, with various spells constantly striking him. But his defense was simply too terrifying. The Spiked Back Iron-Armored Dragon was known as the dragon race with the best defense—there was no doubt about that.
"Yow!" Bebe's piercing shriek sounded in the distance, while Linley was besieged by over a thousand people. His heart grew even more frantic.
"Clayd!"
"Father, Mother! Even if I die today, I will kill him. At worst, our family can reunite in the Netherworld! Little Wharton, the Baruch clan is in your hands." Linley said to himself in his heart. At this moment, Linley no longer feared death.
"Clayd!!!"
Linley roared, and his right hand, covered in scales with sharp claws, swept across his waist. A dazzling purple light flashed.
"Die, all of you die!!!"
The massacre had begun!
Linley's entire body turned into a whirlwind, and the purple light shone like an enchanting, eerie glow, constantly flashing. Wherever Linley passed, warriors were either sliced in half or turned into minced flesh.
The divine sword, Violet Blood.
With the sharpness of Violet Blood, especially in the hands of a fully dragonized Linley, even a seventh-rank warrior was cut in half.
Slaughter!
Wielding Violet Blood, Linley's killing speed increased nearly tenfold. Wherever the light of Violet Blood swept, a group of people fell. Linley charged at full speed toward Clayd's direction. Every step forward required him to kill nearly ten people!
Kill!
Kill!
Kill!
Human blood splattered like fountains, and minced flesh and bones littered the ground like dirt. Linley, fully covered in black scales and in his dragonized state, truly resembled a demon from hell. As he charged along the path, one warrior after another fell to his blade.
No one could stop him!
"Bang!" Linley stomped the ground, the earth trembling. Wielding Violet Blood, he sent a pile of corpses crashing down. The surrounding rockeries and plants had long been reduced to rubble, and the walls of the estate had collapsed from the impacts.
Linley finally reached Clayd. Because Bebe was restraining him, Clayd couldn't escape.
"Linley, you really want to kill me." Clayd stared fixedly at Linley.
The corners of Linley's mouth curled up slightly.
Really want to?
Ever since he learned of his father's death, Linley had asked Uncle Hillman to take the heirloom treasure and leave the Sacred Alliance. At that moment, Linley had made up his mind—no matter what, he would avenge his parents.
"Ha!"
Dragonblood battle-qi erupted, and Linley's arm swelled slightly, his physical strength reaching its peak. The Violet Blood divine sword in his hand seemed to tear through space itself as it slashed heavily at Clayd.
"Bang!" Clayd was sent flying, crashing heavily into a nearby rockery, smashing the large stones aside.
Linley's figure moved, and he was above Clayd again.
His entire body spun like a windmill, and his right leg slammed fiercely into Clayd's neck. Although the Fateguard's defense blocked it, the impact still sent Clayd crashing downward.
"Smack!" Following Linley's right leg was his dragon tail.
Like a whip, it lashed heavily against Clayd's body. The force of Clayd's body hitting the ground was like a meteorite. The ground cracked for dozens of meters, and he was embedded deep into the earth.
The transparent defense on Clayd's body trembled, a rainbow of light flickering, as if it could shatter at any moment.
"It's about to break." Linley's heart surged with joy.
"Protect His Majesty!" A loud shout rang out.
"Lord Caesar!"
The warriors, who had already been terrified by Linley and Bebe's slaughter, were overjoyed. A muscular man with flowing azure hair, wielding a greatsword, charged over at an incredible speed, no slower than Linley.
Linley's heart trembled. "Caesar, the second ninth-rank expert of the Fenlai Kingdom. Damn it!"
"Never mind." Linley didn't even turn to look at Caesar. He charged at full speed toward Clayd, who was leaping out of the pit. Clayd's defense was at its limit, on the verge of collapse. He had to kill Clayd in this final moment!
"Stop!" Caesar roared.
"Bang!"
Linley punched Clayd hard under the chin, sending him flying diagonally. Linley immediately spun rapidly, his right leg like a giant axe and his steel-whip-like dragon tail striking Clayd repeatedly.
"Hum!" An eerie sound came from Clayd's body.
Clayd was sent flying through the air, his body's defense trembling and emitting a rainbow light. But just as he was in midair, a black shadow shot over and clawed fiercely at the flickering rainbow light.
"Crack!"
A crisp sound rang out. Clayd's body's defense finally shattered.
"It broke." Seeing this, Linley was ecstatic. He immediately charged at Clayd. But at that moment, Caesar was already swinging his greatsword at Linley. Linley ignored the greatsword entirely and rushed at Clayd.
At that moment...
None of the thousands of people fighting in Linley's estate noticed that a figure was standing in midair. Although this person stood in the air, if anyone looked up from below, they would see nothing at all. He was completely invisible.
He was tall and thin, bald, and wore a white robe. His expression was calm, as if he were a god, watching the events below with indifference.
It was His Holiness, the Pope of the Radiant Church!
