Chapter 375: Perfectly Natural
“That’s not the smile.”
The Dragon Tamer stared at Qin Mu’s face, shaking his head. “Your smile used to be the kind that made people let down all their guard, the kind where even if you held a knife to their heart, they wouldn’t be able to muster any wariness. But now, you’re forcing a smile. It’s a fake smile, not that honest, simple grin from the heart.”
Hearing his words, Wang Muran, Mu Qingdai, and Long Yu beside Qin Mu all shivered several times, and even the great deer’s eyes showed a trace of fear.
They hadn’t interacted much with Qin Mu, but they considered themselves friends. When with Qin Mu, it was easy to forget that besides his title as the Human Sovereign, he had another identity: the Celestial Demon Cult Leader!
The number one great demon lord of the Celestial Demon Cult!
In truth, when with Qin Mu, it was easy to forget all his identities, whether Celestial Demon Cult Leader or Human Sovereign. Instead, one felt he was a friend worthy of confiding in.
But now, hearing the Dragon Tamer’s words, they felt a chill run down their spines.
“As expected of the Celestial Demon Cult Leader, no wonder he’s called the old demon lord…”
Long Yu thought to himself: “This generation’s Human Sovereign is truly unfathomable. Even a god like the Dragon Tamer has suffered a loss at his hands.”
Qin Mu shook his head. “Dragon Lord, you make me sound too terrifying. I never play mind games with friends.”
His expression was sincere, giving a feeling of reliability. Seeing this expression, Wang Muran and the others felt their unease dissipate.
“That’s the expression.”
The Dragon Tamer sneered coldly. “Sincerity from the heart! You still show that sincere smile, even a somewhat shy smile! Ridiculous, you turned around and stole my dragons!”
His aura suddenly erupted violently, surging with terrifying force that slammed out in all directions. The airwaves struck the walls around the hall with a thunderous roar like waves crashing against cliffs!
Qin Mu’s heart jolted. He activated the Overlord Body Three Dan Art, instantly making his physical form incredibly dense. At the same time, the sword scabbard exploded, and the Carefree Sword swept across in front of him as he rapidly retreated.
The next moment, with a loud bang, he flew backward along with the Carefree Sword. Even in midair, his feet kept shifting rapidly, executing the Cripple’s Heaven-Stealing Divine Leg Technique to disperse the Dragon Tamer’s immense power. But the Dragon Tamer’s strength was too great; even such a marvelous technique as the Heaven-Stealing Divine Leg couldn’t fully dissipate it. Finally, with nowhere left to retreat, he crashed heavily into the wall behind him!
Wang Muran, Mu Qingdai, and Long Yu didn’t hesitate. They all struck out simultaneously, each unleashing their strongest techniques against the Dragon Tamer.
All three were disciples of Little Jade Capital. Little Jade Capital’s method of taking disciples followed the traditional approach: first walking among mortals, selecting youths with the best talent, then observing their conduct, patience, comprehension, adaptability, and other abilities. Only after passing numerous tests would they be accepted as disciples.
They had entered Little Jade Capital this way, and they were taught Little Jade Capital’s best techniques and divine abilities. Naturally, their cultivation was extremely powerful. It could be said that every step they took was solid, with almost no weaknesses in any realm. At the Six Harmonies realm, there were few in the world who could surpass them!
Long Yu executed the Heavenly Eye Sword Heart. Two beams of sword light shot from his pupils, one horizontal and one vertical, slashing toward the Dragon Tamer.
Mu Qingdai used the Dao-Qi Jia Yan Sutra, a method that cultivated both Buddhism and Daoism. Still as a Bodhi tree, moving like an immortal in action. When she raised her hand, ten thousand rays of light formed a massive palm, yet the palm technique was quite graceful.
Both of them had meticulously cultivated a single technique from Little Jade Capital, putting great effort into one method. Wang Muran, however, took a different path. Because of his master Zhen Sanren’s death, he had learned from the pain and always wanted revenge against the Yanguo National Teacher. He treated the Yanguo National Teacher as his mental adversary and had cultivated many techniques.
He knew that relying solely on Zhen Sanren’s techniques and divine abilities, no matter how well he trained, he could never surpass Zhen Sanren. Zhen Sanren had died at the hands of the Yanguo National Teacher, so he had to find another path to possibly surpass him.
Qingyou Shanren and the others knew his intentions and took good care of him, personally teaching him and passing on their unique skills. Therefore, although Wang Muran was the youngest among the disciples of the Upper Firmament, his cultivation and strength were the highest.
However, none of their divine abilities touched the Dragon Tamer.
The Dragon Tamer was simply too fast. What they struck were afterimages left by his movement. Only when the afterimages shattered did they realize their techniques had missed.
The Dragon Tamer ignored them completely, charging straight at Qin Mu, who had been sent flying. His speed was so great it was almost impossible to track!
The great deer moved swiftly. With a few steps, it appeared before the Dragon Tamer, its antlers swinging like spiritual weapons.
“Beast, get lost!”
With a loud explosion, the great deer was sent flying, crashing out of the hall and into the pouring rain outside.
“Open your eyes!” Wang Muran shouted sternly.
Mu Qingdai and Long Yu immediately understood. The Dragon Tamer’s speed was too fast for the naked eye to track. Only by activating divine eye or heavenly eye pupil techniques could they catch his movements.
The great deer’s block had slightly slowed the Dragon Tamer, but he quickly regained his speed. The air in the hall was compressed into a wall by his movement.
Behind him, Wang Muran and the others felt themselves pulled forward by a powerful suction. They used this force to charge at the Dragon Tamer.
Ahead of the Dragon Tamer, Qin Mu swallowed the blood rising in his throat. Countless flying swords shot up from his Taotie pouch with a whoosh, and in an instant, it was Sword Manifesting Mountains and Rivers!
The first move of the Sword Diagram taught by the Village Chief, Sword Manifesting Mountains and Rivers. Sword light flashed, and mountains and rivers appeared. Before the full power of this move could be unleashed, the landscape before him suddenly shattered.
The Dragon Tamer, like a savage dragon, forcibly tore through Sword Manifesting Mountains and Rivers and burst into this scenery.
Qin Mu’s eyes lit up. The Carefree Sword thrust forward.
This was the opportunity he had been waiting for!
He was only at the Six Harmonies realm. Wang Muran and the others were also at Six Harmonies. The great deer couldn’t even beat the Dragon Qilin, and the Dragon Qilin and other flood dragons were too afraid of the Dragon Tamer’s aura to move. Naturally, none of them could be a match for the Dragon Tamer.
So the only chance to kill the Dragon Tamer was to use the Sword Diagram to block his vision, with the Carefree Sword hidden behind it.
The moment the Dragon Tamer broke through the Sword Diagram and charged before him would be the moment the Carefree Sword struck him down!
Fighting head-on was impossible, so strategy had to be used!
Just as the Dragon Tamer broke through the first move of the Sword Diagram, a point of cold light shot straight at him. He quickly raised his hand to block his brow. The next instant, the Carefree Sword pierced through his palm, entered his skull, and exited through the back of his head.
The Carefree Sword, Qin Hanzhen’s divine sword. In terms of sheer sharpness, even he couldn’t withstand it.
The Dragon Tamer was stunned. Behind him, the Carefree Sword turned, pierced through his back, and emerged from his chest with a tip of the blade showing.
Qin Mu unleashed all his magical power, driving the Carefree Sword and activating the divine power within it. At the same time, he roared. Eight thousand flying swords soared into the air and stabbed down toward the Carefree Sword’s position.
In an instant, the Dragon Tamer vanished, replaced by a massive sword orb, perfectly round, with sword hilts interlocked, airtight, like a bright golden sphere with no flaws to be found.
Qin Mu breathed a sigh of relief and spat out the blood in his mouth.
Wang Muran and the others caught up. Seeing this huge sphere, they also relaxed.
Just then, the sphere suddenly moved, cracks appearing. These were caused by loosening sword hilts, a sign that the sword orb was about to disintegrate.
“Dodge!”
Qin Mu roared, frantically charging out of the hall. Wang Muran and the others immediately turned and fled. Behind them, the massive sword orb emitted sharp clinking sounds as flying swords shot out in all directions!
The Dragon Tamer’s imposing figure appeared in the center of the flying swords, his gaze growing colder and colder. At his feet was a pool of corrupted blood—the result of Qin Mu activating the divine power hidden in the Carefree Sword, eroding some of his divine blood.
That strike from Qin Mu had been insidious and terrifying. If his body hadn’t been composed of a mass of blood, he would have been finished, dead by this cunning brat’s sword.
Qin Mu and the others dodged continuously, evading the sword lights shooting from behind. The swords were too dense—eight thousand of them—and their speed was several times faster than Qin Mu’s own full-powered swordplay.
Shiiing—
Mu Qingdai was pierced by a sword light and pinned to a bronze pillar. Although she was a prized disciple of Little Jade Capital with formidable cultivation and practiced Little Jade Capital’s movement techniques, the sword lights were too fast and too numerous for her to completely avoid.
Fortunately, these swords were Qin Mu’s, and the Dragon Tamer seemed to rely only on physical strength. His body had no magical power, so he couldn’t activate the flying swords’ full might. The injuries weren’t fatal.
Even so, she was severely wounded.
Just as she was struck, the cries of Long Yu and Wang Muran came. One was pinned to the wall by a flying sword through his body, the other fixed to the ground.
Qin Mu grunted, also pierced through the chest by a sword light. In haste, he shifted his heart away, avoiding a fatal blow, and was pinned to the main beam above the hall’s door, hanging high.
At the entrance outside, the stag charged in but was struck by dozens of swords and sent flying back.
“Isn’t it just the True Dragon Master? I’ll give it to you!”
Blood trickled from the corner of Qin Mu’s mouth. Gritting his teeth, he activated his primal energy. The Emperor Token flew out of his Taotie pouch and was thrown toward the Dragon Tamer. He shouted sternly, “You can kill me, but spare these three friends of mine!”
Mu Qingdai, Wang Muran, and the others were moved. Long Yu thought to himself, “I’ve been biased against the Human Sovereign. I didn’t know he was so chivalrous. I was only thinking of him as the Celestial Demon Cult Leader…”
The Emperor Token flew through the air toward the Dragon Tamer. By now, it had transformed into the Dragon Jue form, with countless text symbols and patterns flowing and shifting on its surface, quite marvelous.
“The True Dragon Master…”
The Dragon Tamer’s heart surged. He raised his hand to catch the Emperor Token, sneering coldly, “The True Dragon Master was always meant to be mine. Even if you didn’t hand it over, I could have gotten it after killing you… Hmm?”
His expression changed drastically. He quickly flung the Emperor Token away, shouting, “You poisoned it!”
His body immediately began to dissolve, like ice on a red-hot iron plate, rapidly shrinking. Pools of corrupted blood flowed down quickly at his feet.
The Dragon Tamer shrieked strangely. Bubbles rose on his body, popping with a sound. From each bubble emerged a tiny flood dragon head, screaming in agony as it struggled to escape. Some blood flood dragons managed to get out, while others dissolved completely, some only managing to escape with a head and half a body.
Wang Muran and the others were dumbfounded, their minds blank, stunned by this turn of events.
Qin Mu struggled to pull out the sword. The hall’s door beam was too hard; with his strength, he couldn’t pull it out immediately. He gave up and reached back to slap the beam. With a tearing sound, the sword blade passed through his body, and Qin Mu fell from the beam.
He stood up, tears streaming from the pain. He quickly poured several bottles of dragon saliva over the wound and said matter-of-factly, “Can’t win in a fight, so of course I use poison!”
Wang Muran and the others were stunned again. Qin Mu said this as if poisoning when you can’t win was perfectly natural, as simple as eating and sleeping.
“The people who taught this Human Sovereign… none of them seem to be good people…” Long Yu wondered to himself.
————Happy birthday to Knight (Little Yueyue)!
