Chapter 1466: A Guest Arrives from Afar (Second Update)

Wei Suifeng and Uncle Jun nodded solemnly.

Yan’er looked over with eager eyes. Qin Mu hesitated for a moment, then said, “We need to pass through layers of seals at extreme speed without disturbing them to enter the Fragrant Incense Hall. Bringing you along…”

The Cripple shook his head. “Carrying Mu’er with Little Fatty and me is already a strain. Adding you would be too much for us.”

Qin Mu’s face flushed red, and he stammered, “I’m also very fast, and I’ve cultivated the Moon Venerable’s Ultimate Void Sutra. Crossing space is effortless for me…”

Lan Yutian kindly reminded him, “Brother, spatial techniques can’t pass through seals without disturbing them. You have to reach extreme speed to slip through without touching a single seal.”

“I know that, of course.”

Qin Mu said awkwardly, “I am, after all, the world’s second-greatest thief…”

“Third, not second.”

The Cripple kept backing away, reminding him, then barked, “Ready? If you’re ready, then…”

“Go!”

With a sharp shout, three figures shot out in an instant, their speed skyrocketing. Yet they weren’t heading straight for the Fragrant Incense Hall but toward the center of the Ten Thousand Black Mountains.

In a flash, booming sonic booms rang out as the three pushed their physical speed to the limit. Then, with a step, they transformed into three streaks of light. Within those streaks, the figures seemed to ignore space itself, moving like flowing radiance!

Even so, their speed continued to climb. Qin Mu had the deepest cultivation and the strongest power, but when it came to pure speed, he was still a hair slower than the Cripple and Lan Yutian. By the time they reached the center of the Ten Thousand Black Mountains, their speed had hit its peak!

The three streaks of light appeared to leap and flicker through the mountains, drawing closer and closer to everyone!

When their speed reached its zenith, a bizarre sight unfolded in the eyes of the onlookers.

Their bodies seemed to be made of no material substance. Even when they collided with mountain peaks, it was as if they encountered nothing, passing straight through the rocky mass!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

The three streaks of light slammed into the Fragrant Incense Hall, vanishing one after another as they pierced through layer after layer of seals. The seals remained utterly still, allowing them to pass through, leaving the crowd outside staring in stunned disbelief!

What the onlookers saw differed from what Qin Mu and the others perceived. The crowd only witnessed them passing through, but in Qin Mu’s field of vision, they were traversing colossal seals of immense size.

Those seals were dazzlingly beautiful, displaying various structures: towering giants, colorful exotic beasts, diverse forms of ancient gods, and strange, intricate mathematical rune constructs that resembled precision machinery.

Beyond these, there was a vast starry sea formed from divine consciousness, a myriad-path emperor manifested from primordial qi sitting in command, Heaven Duke’s heavenly hand of the Way inverted and pressing down, and Earth Lord using his unparalleled might to whip the Styx River into a long whip sealing the temple!

There was also the Abyss of Return, spinning madly, devouring everything!

They also encountered the seals of the Ten Heavenly Venerables—the great divine abilities of Hao, Huo, Gong, Lang, Zu, Hong, Qiang, Yan, and the others, coiled and gathered, perilously dangerous!

To those outside the hall, the three of them passing through these seals was an instant. But for them, time stretched into an eternity. They ran at full speed, crossing vast distances in a single stride, yet after racing for over ten days, the seals of the Fragrant Incense Hall still had no end!

Qin Mu, being slower, gradually fell behind. But after more than ten days, he began to catch up to the Cripple and Lan Yutian.

The Cripple and Lan Yutian were indeed faster than him, but their cultivation levels weren’t as high. After running for so long, their divine power couldn’t hold out.

Qin Mu immediately expanded his divine storage domain, enveloping the two of them, and continuously supplied them with his own boundless power.

The Cripple and Lan Yutian’s spirits soared. They flanked Qin Mu, one on each side, and sprinted forward with renewed vigor.

They ran at full speed for another several dozen days. All kinds of seals flashed past their eyes like a riot of flowers. The Cripple and Lan Yutian were both shocked and awed, feeling that the power flowing from Qin Mu was still inexhaustible, like an endless ocean, as if it could supply them with abundant energy forever.

“Mu’er may not be fast, but his power is truly immense!” the Cripple couldn’t help but admire inwardly.

Suddenly, a gate appeared ahead—an ancient, majestic bronze door came into view. The three of them were invigorated. With a thunderous boom, they broke through the final seal. Their momentum was impossible to stop, and they tumbled and rolled, crashing through that gate.

On either side, massive bronze pillars flashed past their eyes. In their haste, they also caught glimpses of green lamps.

They were still sliding when Qin Mu suddenly leaped into the air, spreading his arms wide. His vast power spread out, stabilizing the three of them and finally halting their momentum.

Lan Yutian scrambled to his feet and helped the Cripple up. Qin Mu descended slowly, shielding them both, and reached for the divine bow he had obtained from the previous universe epoch, gripping it in his hand.

The Cripple quickly took out the Glazed Blue Heaven Canopy and shook this heavy treasure. Twenty-eight heavens spun and bloomed, protecting them.

Just then, they heard the sound of reading coming from within the hall, crisp and pleasant: “What Heaven imparts is called nature; following nature is called the Way; cultivating the Way is called teaching. The Way cannot be left for even an instant! What can be left is not the Way…”

Qin Mu was surprised. He followed the sound cautiously, and the three of them walked through a long corridor. The paths inside this Fragrant Incense Hall twisted and turned, incredibly complex.

After walking who knows how far, they finally reached the place where the reading came from. It looked like a private school classroom, with many students sitting there.

Lan Yutian peered through the window and froze. He saw another Lan Yutian sitting cross-legged on the floor, swaying his head as he recited scriptures!

Qin Mu’s gaze, however, fell on a woman in a bright red dress. She, too, was reciting scriptures—and she was none other than the Southern Emperor, Vermilion Bird!

Besides the Southern Emperor and Imperial Heaven, this private school had other strange figures: a burly creator god, a bizarre-looking ancient god, and one person that made the Cripple’s body tremble violently. He whispered, “The soul of Bright Emperor…”

Qin Mu’s heart leaped. “Which one is Bright Emperor’s soul?”

The Cripple pointed a finger and lowered his voice. “That one, the one who looks refined and scholarly. I saw his head at the place where Bright Emperor fell. He was dismembered, torn into countless pieces. In Bright Emperor’s battlefield, his severed limbs and head were everywhere…”

Qin Mu quickly looked and indeed saw a handsome, bookish-looking soul—completely different from the legendary Bright Emperor, who was said to be burly, three-headed, six-armed, fierce, and ferocious!

In this private school, whether they were emperors in life, ancient gods, or the most brilliant human heavenly venerables, they all swayed their heads and read with utmost seriousness, an indescribably eerie sight!

Qin Mu shifted his gaze to see who was teaching. An old tutor sat at the lectern, swaying his head, eyes closed, listening to the students read. One hand stroked his beard, while the other held a pointer, lightly tapping the desk.

“Is this the strong one from the previous universe epoch?” Qin Mu thought, his expression strange.

Suddenly, the old tutor opened his eyes and looked toward the window. He tapped his pointer and chuckled, “A guest arrives from afar—how delightful! Friends outside the window, since you’re here, why not come in?”
