Chapter 1360: Courting Death (First Update)
Qin Mu was stunned, blurting out, “Bóyáng the Divine King is your mount?”
His mind roared. In that moment of distraction, Lóng Xiāo’s divine consciousness once again breached his Supreme Divine Consciousness Domain, causing the domain to be damaged even more severely.
“That’s right. Bóyáng the Divine King indeed wanted to subdue me and take me as his mount, but his skills are inferior to mine. What right does he have to subdue me?”
Lóng Xiāo’s divine consciousness relentlessly destroyed his Supreme Divine Consciousness Domain, drawing closer and closer to Qin Mu’s divine consciousness origin. He chuckled, “But on the surface, I still let him have his way, letting the foolish Creators believe I am his mount. In reality, however, he follows my every word. His race worships me, venerates me, making my power grow stronger and stronger. Meanwhile, his own abilities drift further and further away from mine.”
He smiled proudly. “I became the god of his race, their protector, their guardian deity. My prestige among his people surpasses even Bóyáng the Divine King himself! The reason he could become the foremost of the Three Kings is also thanks to my abilities!”
Despite his shock, Qin Mu still struggled to maintain the operation of his Supreme Divine Consciousness Domain. He smiled faintly. “So, you are the true ancestor of the Taming Art. If the Dragon Qilin met you, he would surely flatter you profusely and submit to you wholeheartedly. Since you possess such immense power, enough to even influence Bóyáng the Divine King, why don’t you become the Divine King yourself? Why let Bóyáng take the lead?”
Lóng Xiāo laughed. “Little Creator, you are quite interesting. In that ancient era, the Creators were after all the rulers of the world. They governed the Ancient Gods, creating batch after batch of them. We mighty beasts were still weak in their presence. I could only choose to be a behind-the-scenes manipulator, controlling Bóyáng the Divine King like a puppet on strings, fighting for my race’s right to survive.”
He laughed heartily. “Thus, when the great calamity came and the Ancient Gods rebelled, the Creators were wiped out, but my race survived.”
His laughter was filled with delight. He said leisurely, “The Ancient Gods led the Demigods, ruling over all the heavens and myriad realms. They fought and killed over a piece of territory, bleeding and dying in countless numbers. And us? Without lifting a finger, without losing a single soldier, we can rule over the reverse sides of all worlds!”
His nine massive heads stared at Qin Mu within the divine consciousness domain from different angles, searching for flaws in the Supreme Divine Consciousness. He smiled, “Tell me, who is the true victor? It is me, it is us—these seemingly stupid, big-headed, brainless beasts!”
“Under my rule, all the reverse sides of the worlds thrive in harmony!”
“Under my rule, our descendants multiply and flourish endlessly!”
“Under my rule, we occupy half of the universe!”
“Under my rule, no foreign race can set foot in our territory!”
“Young Creator, do you wish to become my mount?”
...
Qin Mu stared blankly at this prehistoric ruler. His eyes did not hold the dim, thoughtless light of an ordinary beast; on the contrary, they radiated boundless wisdom.
“That fellow Shū Jūn wanted to subdue you and make you his mount. Now it seems he should count himself lucky that he didn’t become your mount instead.”
Qin Mu couldn’t help but sigh with emotion, shaking his head at the thoughts and actions of this big-headed youth, Shū Jūn, without agreeing with them.
Shū Jūn’s current strength couldn’t catch up to his past life. If he encountered Lóng Xiāo, he would likely be easily subdued and become Lóng Xiāo’s mount.
“It’s not that I can’t subdue Shū Jūn; it’s that I look down on him.”
One of Lóng Xiāo’s heads smiled. “He’s not qualified to be my mount. Among the Three Kings of Antiquity, his strength is mediocre—inferior to Bóyáng, and he’s ugly too.”
Another head rose high, staring at Qin Mu with keen interest, smiling faintly. “But you are different. You are better-looking than him, and more importantly, you have the potential to become another Tàidì. As my mount, besides being good-looking, you must also be strong!”
His third head spoke leisurely, “Although Shū Jūn is unqualified, he brought two noteworthy figures. One is called Lán Yùtián, and the other is called Xū Shēnghuā. Both can become my mounts. As for you, you are the third!”
Suddenly, Qin Mu burst into loud laughter, his divine consciousness trembling violently. He declared in a clear voice, “Lóng Xiāo, great disaster is upon you, yet you still indulge in foolish daydreams! If I were you, I wouldn’t be looking for a talented and good-looking mount right now. I would immediately seek allies to avoid calamity! Instead, you stubbornly cling to these irrelevant pursuits. As the foremost of the Three Kings of Antiquity, where has your wisdom gone?”
Lóng Xiāo’s nine heads all fixed their gaze on him. Qin Mu remained unflinching.
“Considering this is your first offense, I’ll give you a chance to explain.”
Lóng Xiāo said unhurriedly, “You say great disaster is upon me. Where does this disaster come from?”
Qin Mu smiled slightly. “The reason you can occupy the reverse side of the Ancestral Court is simply that you are the only strong one here. But now, the Void Beasts in the Ancestral Court have gone extinct, and there is no longer any threat from the Ancestral Court to the outside world. Therefore, the seal of the Ancestral Court will inevitably be completely opened by the Ten Celestial Venerables, turning it into an open space! When the seal of the Ancestral Court is lifted, do you think this peaceful world of yours can still be preserved?”
One of Lóng Xiāo’s heads narrowed its dragon eyes, smiling. “The Ten Celestial Venerables? They are merely juniors of a later generation...”
Qin Mu sneered. “Juniors of a later generation? You are far too arrogant. Among the Ten Celestial Venerables, one is Tàidì. How do you compare to him?”
Lóng Xiāo’s expression changed slightly.
“Among the Ten Celestial Venerables, one is Tàichū. How do you compare to him?”
Qin Mu continued, “Tàidì and Tàichū are merely two of the Ten Celestial Venerables. Even an existence like Dìmǔ Yuánjūn cannot rank among them. You can imagine how terrifying the combat power of the Ten Celestial Venerables is! You are now the ruler of the reverse side of the Ancestral Court, but in the future, when the seal of the Ancestral Court is completely broken, you will either be a prisoner or meat on the chopping block, at the mercy of others!”
He said calmly, “Lóng Xiāo, if you don’t want to be ruled by the Ten Celestial Venerables, if you don’t want your descendants to become food, then you need a collaborator, an ally. And I!”
He smiled proudly. “I am the ally you seek, your future hope! Among my allies are Tiāngōng, Tǔbó, hundreds of other Ancient Gods, powerful Celestial Venerables, and the Creators living in Tàixū!”
He flicked his sleeve, striking the void, causing it to rumble and surge. “Behind me is a vast empire no less than your Beast World. My generals possess divine abilities that reach the heavens, numbering in the millions! My warships fill the sky, enough to stuff the reverse side of the Ancestral Court and block out your sun! My soldiers, wielding their divine weapons, can shatter countless heavens!”
He extended his hand. “Cooperate with me, be my ally, and you will have a way out in the future!”
Lóng Xiāo’s nine heads all squinted as they sized him up. Qin Mu’s expression was calm, as still as an ancient well. He said flatly, “I’ve given you the opportunity. Seize it yourself.”
Lóng Xiāo pondered, his heads circling around him. Suddenly, he laughed. “Everything you say is just empty talk, words without proof. Since you possess such immense power, why not become my mount? Then the power you control would belong to me, wouldn’t it?”
His nine heads erupted with divine consciousness, breaking through Qin Mu’s Supreme Divine Consciousness Domain in one fell swoop!
The Supreme Divine Consciousness Domain shattered into pieces, but within it, Qin Mu’s divine consciousness had already vanished without a trace!
