Chapter 1238: Leg Hair (Fourth Update)
Bai Yuqiong walked along the path through the collapsed void, chatting cheerfully with Lan Yutian. "Brother Lan, with the Four Emperor divine artifacts suppressing this place, the collapsed consciousness of the void cannot invade here, so you don’t have to worry about your inner demons becoming reality. The only thing to watch out for are the inner demons that have already taken form."
Lan Yutian looked around curiously. "Inner demons that have already taken form?"
Bai Yuqiong sighed helplessly and pulled him back onto the path, lest this boy, brimming with restless curiosity, wander off into the void. "These inner demons were deliberately created by the traitors of Carefree Village. There’s a ruthless figure in Carefree Village named Yan Yunxi. I’ve clashed with her before—she’s vicious and merciless, but utterly loyal to the traitor Qin Ye. She selected thousands of spoiled brats and sent them into the collapsed void."
Lan Yutian was puzzled.
Bai Yuqiong pulled him back again. "These spoiled brats had terrible Dao hearts. When they entered the collapsed void, it was like pouring a basin of ink into a clear pool and then boiling the water. In an instant, countless inner demons surged forth. At the time, we were building the void passage and were besieged by these inner demons. Countless soldiers died before we could gain a foothold in the collapsed void."
Lan Yutian blinked. "Didn’t you ever think about pacifying the collapsed consciousness here?"
Bai Yuqiong smiled. "We did think about pacifying the collapsed consciousness, but this place is a void created by countless creators with their own consciousness, shattered by the Grand Emperor. Few people are skilled in the ways of the consciousness heavens. The strongest in consciousness cultivation is Left Junior Guardian Yan Shaoqing, but he was sent to the Primordial Realm to guard the prison..."
Just as she said this, she suddenly sensed something and turned around to see a Heavenly Lord’s divine chariot, its divine light illuminating the void, racing toward them along the void passage.
"This divine chariot is a Heavenly Lord’s mount. Could it be that some Heavenly Lord is descending into the Great Void..."
Before Bai Yuqiong could think further, an immensely powerful consciousness surged into her and Lan Yutian’s minds, taking the form of Qin Mu’s voice: "Get out of here—quickly!"
Without a second thought, Bai Yuqiong immediately twisted and folded the space ahead, accelerating to their maximum speed as they shot forward. She couldn’t help but wonder, "That was the voice of Mu Heavenly Lord! He’s the leader of the traitors, a heinous criminal. Why did I believe him without hesitation the moment I heard his words?"
They were about to reach the Stone City guarding this area. Bai Yuqiong planned to take Lan Yutian into the city to hide, avoiding being seen by Hao Heavenly Lord. Though she could distort space to evade the detection of other divine beings, Hao Heavenly Lord, the First Heavenly Lord among the Ten Heavenly Lords of the Heavenly Court, would surely see through her disguise.
The Great Void was still in a state of war, and as the Third Heavenly Master of the Heavenly Court, abandoning her post was a grave crime.
"Hao Heavenly Lord is traveling in such haste; he probably won’t stop at Stone City. Maybe we can avoid him..."
Just as she was about to rush into Stone City with Lan Yutian, a dazzling light suddenly burst from the city’s far side, spreading outward like butterfly patterns in every direction!
An incredibly terrifying wave of energy came from behind Stone City, shattering the already broken void even further!
At the same time, a massive lotus flower rapidly expanded, growing larger and larger, pressing down on Stone City before Bai Yuqiong and Lan Yutian. The city twisted and collapsed, and the tens of thousands of divine and demonic soldiers inside twisted along with it, their bodies crumbling into a mess of flesh in an instant!
Bai Yuqiong was horrified, feeling a terror she had never known before.
She saw a towering figure rising before her, and soon she could only see its legs and feet. The figure grew at an alarming rate, becoming immeasurably tall, still growing wildly!
She saw the leg hair, like a forest of steel. The black leg hair sliced through the void, tearing it open!
The leg hair was thick, thicker than towering ancient trees, but smooth, with sharp tips like deadly spears.
She even saw the skin beneath the leg hair, like parched land, its texture a network of ravines, with rivers flowing across it. The giant’s pores were like massive volcanoes, spewing heat and steam!
Fear gripped her. Within the giant’s muscles, thick, root-like tendrils pierced through, tearing the skin, leaving wounds festering with bloody, raw flesh.
These massive tendrils coiled like dragons, anchoring into the lotus continent.
The lotus continent was also growing rapidly, expanding, covered in dazzling runes of all kinds, incredibly beautiful, seemingly restricting the giant’s movements.
These runes were each as large as a bucket, some covering dozens or even hundreds of acres. But as the giant moved, countless runes shattered continuously.
Moreover, a massive metal sphere, the size of a planet, whirled around the giant, its runes shifting constantly, casting light onto the giant and the lotus continent!
"Hao Heavenly Lord—"
The giant spoke, its voice turning into a tangible force. Though it roared overhead, Bai Yuqiong and Lan Yutian at its feet were shaken into dry heaves.
Whoosh—
The lotus continent carried the giant as it flew, racing along the void passage straight toward the divine chariot. As the giant and continent leaped over Bai Yuqiong and Lan Yutian’s heads, their minds went blank.
Their consciousness seemed to freeze, all thought solidifying, not a single idea forming in their minds. Only after the lotus continent passed did their thoughts resume, leaving nothing but lingering fear.
Just then, a beam of light shone down from above, landing on the two of them. Bai Yuqiong initially intended to resist, but then felt a stir in her heart: "The Moon Master’s technique..."
She stopped resisting, and the light instantly swept them up, pulling them into a lantern.
Inside the lantern was a blazing sun, folded by spatial techniques to appear small. They found themselves in a space about a hundred feet square, warm and cozy.
This round room had a door. Lan Yutian pushed it open and peered out, only to see Qin Mu’s enormous face.
"Brother!"
Lan Yutian was overjoyed, quickly turning to Bai Yuqiong. "Heavenly Master Sister, you really are amazing! You actually found my brother!"
Bai Yuqiong’s heart skipped a beat. She followed him to the door and looked up at the giant holding the lantern. It was indeed Qin Mu. Her expression shifted. "So Lan Yutian is Mu Heavenly Lord’s younger brother. Their temperaments are somewhat similar, but also very different. Little Lan is much more innocent than Mu Heavenly Lord, not nearly as wicked... Strange, why do they have different surnames—one Qin, one Lan..."
Qin Mu, holding the lantern, had no time to look at the two inside. He was intently focused on what might be the most powerful and magnificent battle in a million years!
The divine chariot was enormous, but compared to the lotus continent and the Grand Emperor’s physical body, it was insignificant.
The lotus continent came roaring in, and the collision was imminent!
