Chapter 1157: A Bold Outsider Crosses the River (Third Update)

Black and white qi swirled in the eyes of the Creator statues, as if in surprise. Yet they possessed no real thought. As Qin Mu’s shout rang out, these Creators once again howled and charged toward him!

Those who had leaped into the air leaped again, those who had braced against the cliff walls braced again, and those who had run along the ground sprinted with all their might!

Their axes and picks followed the same trajectories, imbued with the mysteries of Yin and Yang, striking at Qin Mu from every angle!

Boom!

A violent tremor resounded. Above, the black and white Yin-Yang fish reappeared, spinning around each other.

At the foot of the mountain, Dragon Qilin looked up, puzzled. “It feels like… this has all happened before…”

In the mine, time seemed to return to its starting point.

Those Creators had slain Qin Mu, smashing him into a pulp. Yet in the next instant, they were back in their original positions, leaning on their axes and picks, standing in a V-formation.

Qin Mu stood before them once more, laughing heartily. “Come on!”

Everything seemed to replay. The Creators charged again, swung their axes and picks again, unleashed that brilliant and terrifying power again, the Yin-Yang fish spinning at the zenith.

But this time, Qin Mu survived. He stood shakily among the many Creators, refusing to fall.

Each time, he used a different technique. These three attempts had already shown him a path to survival.

Qin Mu grinned, blood filling his mouth. He chuckled. “I didn’t die…”

Pfft.

A Creator behind him swung its axe-pick, driving it into his skull, blasting him apart.

The other Creators raised their axes and picks, striking in turn. But at that moment, as if time rewound, the Creators were back at their starting points in the next instant.

Qin Mu stood there perfectly fine again, laughing heartily. “Come on!”

At the foot of the mountain, Dragon Qilin, Yan’er, the Void Beast, and Little Tu Bo had grown accustomed to the black and white beams of light and the Yin-Yang fish that occasionally appeared in the sky. They went about their own business.

Little Tu Bo lay on the Void Beast’s head, drooling as they both stared at the elusive ancient giant beasts on the mountain. Yan’er took out the Treasure-Gathering Basin that Queen Lang Wan had given her, planning to conjure more spirit pills. Dragon Qilin dozed at the entrance of the village.

Inside the mine, Qin Mu was shattered again and again, resurrected again and again, each time living a little longer.

Finally, he was smashed apart once more. Just as everything seemed about to reset, the Creators suddenly opened their mouths wide. Streams of Yin and Yang qi, like dragons, poured out and swarmed into Qin Mu’s body!

Clearly, the Tai Chi vein mine had developed a self-awareness. It recognized that Qin Mu was using this stubborn method to grow stronger and deepen his understanding of the Way of Yin and Yang. So, taking advantage of his death, it decided to assimilate him, making him part of the mine!

As the Yin and Yang qi left the Creators’ bodies, they rapidly petrified, turning into stone statues!

But when the Yin and Yang qi drilled into Qin Mu’s flesh and blood, it violently clashed with the Indestructible Matter divine ability. The pulp that was Qin Mu sometimes coalesced, sometimes turned into stones, sometimes reformed into flesh, sometimes became a multi-headed monster, and sometimes took on Qin Mu’s own form!

Ling Tianzun had developed the Indestructible Matter divine ability based on the Way of Creation. It now violently collided with the Yin and Yang qi—one was the indestructibility of matter, the other was the transformation and evolution of matter, even life itself.

This collision meant one would lose.

If the Indestructible ability lost, Qin Mu would die.

If the Yin and Yang qi lost, Qin Mu would live.

It was that simple!

The violent clash continued for an unknown length of time. Qin Mu slowly rose from the pool of blood. Just as a faint smile appeared on his face, he suddenly exploded with a bang, transforming into an unfurled Tai Chi diagram.

Within the diagram, Yin and Yang qi flowed gently.

After another moment, the Yin and Yang qi gradually swelled up from the diagram, forming Qin Mu’s silhouette.

It was his spirit embryo. Ling Tianzun’s Indestructible Matter divine ability had clashed with the Yin and Yang qi, grinding away his physical body and primordial spirit, leaving only his spirit embryo indestructible!

Qin Mu’s spirit embryo stood in the center of the Tai Chi diagram, gripping the broken sword.

On the sword’s hilt, two Tai Chi diagram patterns were imprinted—two Tai Chi divine stones embedded on the front and back of the hilt.

The spirit embryo swung the sword, slashing horizontally in all directions.

“Heaven, open!”

Boom!

Around him, the Great Dao trembled. A sound like the creation of the world rang out. A Primeval Tree rose from the ground, supporting the clear and turbid qi, separating Yin and Yang. Countless stars appeared, floated into the air, and gradually receded, forming the Xuan Du in the sky.

The Heavenly River cascaded down, flowing from the Xuan Du, surging mightily. It passed through the Four Extremes. The North Pole Heaven emerged, giving birth to two ancient gods—one Xuan, one Wu. Xuan Wu combined, with a serpent coiled around a tortoise. With a mighty shudder, countless stars of the Northern Heaven were born.

Ancient gods of the Northern Heaven, strange and bizarre, took their seats in the various star domains.

The Heavenly River flowed westward. The West Pole Heaven appeared. The White Tiger roared, and countless stars of the Western Heaven were born. Ancient gods of the Western Heaven sat among the stars, wielding immense divine powers.

Then came the South Pole Heaven with the Vermilion Bird, the East Pole Heaven with the Azure Dragon, and all the other star domains, emerging one after another.

The Heavenly River flowed on, reaching the Yuan Du. It fell from the Primeval Tree, and the myriad heavens burst forth, radiating all colors, hanging around the tree.

The Heavenly River roared on, flowing into the sea, sinking into the dark You Du. It passed between the two winding Yellow Springs, transforming into the Styx River, coiling around Tu Bo’s body.

The Styx flowed to Tu Bo’s feet, plunging into the Gui Xu, rushing into the Great Abyss.

In the Great Abyss, a twin lotus flower trembled gently against the river’s current, growing out of the pitch-black abyss.

At the other end of the Gui Xu, the Heavenly River surged, appearing above the Xuan Du. It flowed past the brows of the Heavenly Lord, whose long eyebrows fluttered, reflecting the river.

In the shadowy place beneath the Heavenly Lord’s feet, the Tian Yin Realm trembled. Countless soul-black sand flew out, falling from the sky into Qin Mu’s spirit embryo, forming his Three Souls and Seven Spirits.

On the Tai Chi diagram, sounds of clanging rang out endlessly, the Dao tones echoing. Rows of heavenly palaces rose from the diagram, layer upon layer. Within each palace, the Dao tones boomed and resonated, gleaming as if newly polished.

On the Execution Platforms within each heavenly palace, the Yin and Yang qi writhed and transformed, like two divine blades, slaying all.

This was Qin Mu’s spirit embryo divine storage domain!

Suddenly, the divine storage domain contracted sharply, shrinking in a short time into the shape of a brain.

Around the brain, blood vessels grew, bones formed, hair flew. Qin Mu’s face appeared, followed by his features, heart, six viscera, and limbs, all growing in.

Qin Mu reached out and grabbed the sword. The broken sword appeared in his hand, and he thrust it toward his waist. The sword’s scabbard also appeared at his side.

He walked out of the circle of Creator stone statues. His clothes were also restoring themselves. By the time he stepped out of the circle formed by those dozens of stone statues, his cape fluttered behind him, snapping in the wind.

A faint, ethereal sigh seemed to come from within the mine. Qin Mu paid it no heed, striding forward. All strange phenomena in the mine ceased. Even the Yin and Yang qi on the cliff walls stopped flowing, and the Tai Chi divine stones showed no change.

After walking for a long time, a vast expanse of Yin and Yang qi appeared ahead, forming a colossal Tai Chi pattern.

At the center of this hundred-mile-wide pattern was a massive altar, also divided by Yin and Yang. A divine egg stood silently on the altar’s central line.

Surrounding the divine egg were eight rough stones radiating the Dao resonance of Yin and Yang.

Qin Mu approached the divine egg. He drew his sword from his waist, thrust it into the altar, and sat down cross-legged. His expression calm, he said, “Dao brother within the egg, this outsider Qin Mu offers his greetings.”
