Chapter 1145: Intuition (Third Update!)
Further in the distance, Yan Tianfei also activated a strange treasure, a Heavenly Venerate-level artifact she had refined. Multicolored light surged up, sealing the void and the earth, securing her foothold.
Qin Mu frowned, searching around, but Qiang Tianfei, Gong Heavenly Venerate, and the others had each occupied a prime location, leaving him with few choices.
Long Qilin still couldn't accept that during the Battle of Yao Pool, Fire Heavenly Venerate hadn't helped Qin Mu but instead joined the faction trying to kill him. He was dazed and confused.
"Fire Heavenly Venerate was devastated by Imperial Heavenly Venerate's death. From the day Imperial Heavenly Venerate was assassinated, he changed."
Qin Mu continued searching with Long Qilin and Yan'er, saying, "Back then, during the Long Han Era's Seven Heavenly Venerates, six of them admired Imperial Heavenly Venerate immensely. The one with the deepest bond, besides Nether Heavenly Venerate, was Fire Heavenly Venerate. Imperial Heavenly Venerate was their role model, an insurmountable mountain. After Imperial Heavenly Venerate died, Nether Heavenly Venerate fell into a million-year seclusion. Fire Heavenly Venerate's thinking must have changed at that moment too. He hated the ancient gods, yet he wanted to become one."
He stopped, staring blankly into space. "Nether Heavenly Venerate also said he had changed, and Moon Heavenly Venerate's words hinted that he was untrustworthy. But I always had a good impression of him, perhaps wishful thinking. Only if Imperial Heavenly Venerate were resurrected could he wake from this dream."
Long Qilin smiled. "Imperial Heavenly Venerate has already been resurrected. As long as we steal back the remnant soul from the Pifragrant Hall, Imperial Heavenly Venerate will no longer be foolish. Fire Heavenly Venerate will surely change his mind! Then, the human race will be saved!"
Qin Mu showed a smile. "I hope so."
His divine sense exploded, forcing back a suddenly appearing void beast.
"These old foxes have all chosen a foothold. They've taken all the good spots!"
Qin Mu's eyes flickered as he looked around, trying to find an excellent location. But the eight Heavenly Venerates had each found a superb spot and settled there.
How could Qin Mu compete with them?
Moreover, each Heavenly Venerate had a Heavenly Venerate-level artifact suppressing the void, preventing void beasts from intruding. Soon, these Heavenly Venerates would likely establish their own strongholds.
Then, they would come to ask Qin Mu to send them out, so their disciples could come to manage the sites, drive away void beasts, and mine various treasures.
"Even if I find a good spot, I don't have an artifact capable of suppressing void beasts."
Qin Mu blinked, thinking to himself, "I can't take out the Glazed Azure Canopy. Using it to suppress the void would work—it could kill any void beast. But if the other Heavenly Venerates see it, they'll definitely take it. Worse, there's that ancient god egg inside the Glazed Azure Canopy..."
"Also, I can't be trapped here forever, guarding a site. If I go to invite the First Ancestor and the successive Human Sovereigns of the Human Sovereign Hall to guard it, even the First Ancestor Human Sovereign might not be a match for the void mother beast..."
Qin Mu pondered, then suddenly had a flash of inspiration. His vertical eye opened, looking around.
"Last time I was at the Primordial Mine, void beasts couldn't enter the mine. That means the five major mines can all deter void beasts. But I only know about the Primordial Mine, and it's occupied by Xiao Heavenly Venerate. Where the other four mines are, only Qiang Heavenly Venerate and Gong Heavenly Venerate would know."
In the Qin Continent within his vertical eye, the two giant ancient god eggs were communicating. Suddenly, the gods inside the eggs seemed to sense the outside situation, and their divine sounds ceased.
Both eggs vibrated slightly, appearing somewhat excited!
Qin Mu surveyed his surroundings, thinking, "I don't know where the other four mines are, but these two ancient god eggs surely do! Instead of wandering around blindly, I'll let them tell me."
The two ancient god eggs fell silent.
Qin Mu blinked and waited a moment, but the eggs still showed no reaction.
Qin Mu gritted his teeth. His divine sense rippled, and soon the sky split open, revealing a giant eye.
The eye rolled around, then its gaze fell on Qin Mu. Next, an enormous void beast squeezed out of the void and landed with a thunderous crash.
Yan'er and Long Qilin cried out in alarm and quickly went on guard.
The void beast was covered in void patterns, its six massive legs striding forward, claws digging into the ground as it circled them a few times. Its eyelids rolled up, revealing rows of sharp teeth.
Yan'er let out a soft cry, her primordial spirit manifesting, ready to strike.
"Still recognize me?" Qin Mu smiled.
The void beast's eyelids drooped, its mouth disappeared, and it lowered its head toward Qin Mu.
Qin Mu raised his hand, and the void beast gently rubbed against his palm. Yan'er sighed in relief. Hearing her breath, the beast leaped away and stared at her warily.
Long Qilin asked in surprise, "Chief, is this the void beast you tamed back then?"
Qin Mu nodded, smiling. "A million years, and it's still alive, even stronger now."
He soared into the air, landing on the bone mountain behind the void beast's head, standing in the wind.
Long Qilin and Yan'er quickly flew up and landed on the bone mountain as well. Seeing this, the void beast rolled its eyelids up and turned its head, letting out a threatening growl.
Qin Mu took out the Glazed Azure Canopy, using this supreme treasure as his staff, and tapped it on the bone mountain.
The void beast then restrained its ferocity, leaped up, and sprinted wildly among the mountains.
Qin Mu stood in the wind, leaning on the Glazed Azure Canopy. Though the canopy was eye-catching, the Heavenly Venerates were all busy organizing their own territories and had no time to pay attention.
He let the void beast run freely, without any destination.
Long Qilin and Yan'er stood beside him, curiously looking around. They saw that the void beast Qin Mu had tamed wasn't moving in a straight line but seemed to wander aimlessly. They grew anxious: "If the Chief (Young Master) doesn't find a good spot soon, all the treasures will be taken by the Heavenly Venerates!"
The void beast traveled for most of the day, still moving without purpose. But in its simple mind, an "intuition" told it that this wasn't the place its master wanted.
This "intuition" came from the ancient god egg inside the Glazed Azure Canopy!
In terms of insight, Qin Mu certainly couldn't match the seasoned eyes of Xiao Heavenly Venerate, Hong Heavenly Venerate, or Qiang Heavenly Venerate, nor the vast experience of Hao Heavenly Venerate or Ancestral God King.
But the celestial sphere of the Glazed Azure Canopy was an ancient god egg born in the ancestral court's mine. Its vision and knowledge were definitely not inferior to Xiao Heavenly Venerate, the ancient god Heavenly Emperor!
Knowing that the two ancient god eggs he had obtained were both on guard against him, Qin Mu simply summoned the void beast he had tamed, let it run freely, and let the ancient god egg of the Glazed Azure Canopy lead him to find a treasure site.
The void beast traveled for three days at incredible speed, a blur of motion. Other void beasts couldn't even see it before it had passed. Finally, it arrived at a desolate wasteland and stopped.
Qin Mu stood on high, looking around. He saw broken and dilapidated mine shafts, like black holes deep in the earth, winding and twisting into an ancient mountain range.
Faint rays of light and precious aura rose from those shafts.
Prehistoric creators had left traces of mining here, but now only tall skeletons remained—the bones of those creators.
In the distance, the ground cracked open, revealing several large eyeballs rolling around—nearby void beasts secretly watching them.
Qin Mu paid them no mind. He put away the Glazed Azure Canopy and was about to enter the camp left by the creators when suddenly a tall, slender woman walked out of the camp. They met face to face, both startled.
"Gong Heavenly Venerate." Qin Mu bowed in greeting.
"Mu Heavenly Venerate."
Gong Heavenly Venerate returned the bow, saying, "I repaid your kindness during the Battle of Yao Pool. Mu Heavenly Venerate, we are even now. This is my Nvxin Clan's mine. I won't let you have it."
Hearing her personally admit that she was one of the three Heavenly Venerates who had saved him in the Battle of Yao Pool, Qin Mu still felt a pang of disappointment. "So Fire Heavenly Venerate really wasn't among them."
"My apologies."
Qin Mu bowed, patted the void beast, and said, "I'll go find another treasure site."
