Chapter 7: A Cry for Justice?
The original work mentioned a flaw in Accelerator’s ability: when about to hit him, suddenly change the attack direction to the opposite of the original target point.
Easy to say, hard to do. Moreover, the one who exploited this flaw to hit Accelerator was his esper ability developer, who knew his ability inside out. That was why they could circumvent his power. In a first encounter, hitting Accelerator was nearly impossible—it required long-term calculations of angles, force control, and so on.
Fortunately, Su Xiao didn’t have to deal with Accelerator for now. Whether they would fight later was unknown, but facing such an almost invincible ability gave him a headache.
Standing beside the corpse of Mugino Shizuri, Su Xiao looked at Kinuhata Saiai in the distance.
Kinuhata Saiai was slowly retreating. The bloody lesson told her she was no match for this man.
Whoosh~
A sound of breaking wind. In less than two seconds, Su Xiao had covered dozens of meters and appeared before Kinuhata Saiai.
The Dragon-Slaying Flash appeared in his hand. Using a blade against Mugino Shizuri was unwise, but against Kinuhata Saiai, a long sword could be highly effective.
Su Xiao held the blade with one hand. A blade aura flashed in the night as he slashed at Kinuhata Saiai’s neck. She quickly controlled her nitrogen armor to tilt her head.
Clang.
The Dragon-Slaying Flash swept past Kinuhata Saiai’s ear, sending a piece of invisible armor flying, which dissipated in the air. A few severed strands of short brown hair drifted down.
One slash, and Kinuhata Saiai’s nitrogen armor was pierced. If he couldn’t even break through a Level 4 esper’s defense with one strike, he might as well forget about completing his promotion mission. Even if Kinuhata Saiai had taken drugs, her nitrogen armor couldn’t withstand Su Xiao’s blade.
The night breeze brushed against Kinuhata Saiai’s cheek. She was first surprised, then her eyes darkened. Her nitrogen armor couldn’t even block one strike from the enemy. If she continued fighting, she would surely die. As for escaping, the enemy was too fast.
Kinuhata Saiai’s peripheral vision caught Mugino Shizuri’s corpse. Her gaze gradually hardened. Her teammate was dead, and running was pointless. She had no choice but to fight.
“Super Kinetic Fist.”
Kinuhata Saiai controlled her nitrogen armor to throw a punch. A row of jets appeared on the invisible armor, releasing nitrogen, accelerating the punch’s speed.
Her slender fist carried a wind pressure that rustled the hem of Su Xiao’s coat. He held the Dragon-Slashing Flash horizontally to his left.
Boom!
Mud splashed beside Su Xiao’s right foot, showing the force of Kinuhata Saiai’s punch. Though her movement speed wasn’t fast, her punching speed was incredible. If Mugino Shizuri, a long-range esper, had such fast neural reflexes, then Kinuhata Saiai, a close-combat esper, was even faster.
Su Xiao’s body gradually arched to the right, dispersing the force.
While blocking Kinuhata Saiai’s punch, Su Xiao kicked sideways, aiming for her side.
Boom!
Su Xiao’s foot stopped about ten centimeters from Kinuhata Saiai’s side, blocked by the nitrogen armor. Though the kick didn’t hit her body, the powerful impact sent her rolling away.
What is strength? Power, agility, stamina, intelligence—no weaknesses. As for charm, ahem, let’s not mention that.
Attack power, defense, close combat, ranged combat, mobility, and various attribute resistances—Su Xiao was strong in all. Among these, attack power, close combat, and mobility were relatively outstanding.
This wasn’t unique to Su Xiao. Any lone wolf needed these qualities, or they wouldn’t survive a few derivative worlds.
In other words, besides close combat, Su Xiao had no other strengths, but he also had no obvious weaknesses. This was like a barrel—its water capacity depended not on the longest plank but the shortest. Having no weaknesses was itself a form of strength.
Boom! Boom!
The loud noises continued. Kinuhata Saiai, wrapped in nitrogen armor, was like a toy, occasionally having a piece of armor slashed off by Su Xiao or being kicked away. Facing an enemy with no obvious weaknesses, she felt only despair. From the start of the fight, she had been searching for Su Xiao’s weakness, but she couldn’t find any. Moreover, for some unknown reason, she felt a constant fear that accelerated her stamina consumption. By now, she was already panting.
Two minutes later.
With a crack, the nitrogen armor on Kinuhata Saiai shattered. She fell to the ground like a broken doll, landing with a thud.
Kinuhata Saiai propped herself up with her hands, trying to stand, but a foot pressed down on her back.
“The turtle shell is broken. Struggling is pointless.”
Su Xiao wouldn’t kill Kinuhata Saiai for now. It wasn’t because she looked cute—he had just slit the throat of that big-chested older woman. As for this flat-chested girl, she could be described as having no meat on her bones. Su Xiao had no interest in this elementary school student physique.
“My friend’s will… how could I… cough, cough, cough…”
Su Xiao applied more pressure with his foot, preventing Kinuhata Saiai from resisting.
“Fighting for so long with no response. It seems your boss doesn’t care about your lives.”
Su Xiao lit a cigarette, considering his next move. Without a reasonable identity to blend into this world, killing indiscriminately was unwise.
Whoosh~
Just as Su Xiao was thinking, a girl appeared out of nowhere, and Kinuhata Saiai vanished from under his foot.
Su Xiao’s pupils slightly contracted. The faint red aura around him grew denser.
About ten meters away, a girl in a middle school uniform was holding Kinuhata Saiai in a princess carry. The newcomer was named Shirai Kuroko, a Level 4 esper with space abilities who loved to fight for justice.
Shirai Kuroko stared at Su Xiao, cold sweat on her cheeks. She felt that this man was from a completely different world than hers—no, his life was fundamentally different from hers.
Though Shirai Kuroko was a Level 4 esper, she was kind-hearted. She wouldn’t kill, and she was unwilling to harm others without reason.
A girl who had never killed anyone faced Su Xiao. The result was predictable.
The faint red aura around Su Xiao gathered, seeming to form a vicious beast grinning at Shirai Kuroko.
Shirai Kuroko squinted. The “vicious beast” she saw was just an illusion.
“Judgment… not good.”
Clang!
A blade aura flashed. Shirai Kuroko disappeared, reappearing dozens of meters away. Su Xiao stood where she had been.
A ten-centimeter-long, chopstick-thick metal rod embedded itself in Su Xiao’s kneecap.
“Don’t… don’t move, or I’ll teleport that thing into your heart.”
Teleporting a metal rod into an enemy’s kneecap was already a ruthless move for Shirai Kuroko.
Su Xiao pinched the metal rod with two fingers, clenched his fist, and pulled it out with a spray of blood. From start to finish, his expression remained unchanged, as if it weren’t his knee.
Seeing this, Shirai Kuroko’s face twitched. She thought to herself, “This enemy is ruthless.” The lack of expression wasn’t an act—it was a detached attitude, as if injury was the most common thing in daily life, not worth any reaction.
Su Xiao looked at Shirai Kuroko, puzzled. Why had she appeared here? A cry for justice?
