Chapter 70: Counterattack
Seeing this scene, Liuli and the other three’s eyes twitched. The durability of the Counter Shield far exceeded their expectations.
“Dawn, keep going.”
Liuli’s voice carried a hint of urgency. If Su Xiao recovered, they would be the ones to die.
“Give me five seconds.”

Suddenly, the motionless Su Xiao put away his Dragon-Slaying Flash. A short blade appeared in his hand. After a moment, he put that away and pulled out a crossbow.
As if receiving some information, Su Xiao put away the crossbow as well. A heavy sniper rifle materialized in his hands.
The muzzle slowly rose. Su Xiao seemed to be testing his aim.

The Spider Empress fired a shot. The Counter Shield shattered. A bullet flew in, directly embedding itself into Su Xiao’s abdomen.

Liuli’s pupils constricted sharply. She instinctively stood up.

The female perception-type contractor stepped back. Dawn lifted his giant hammer and retreated. The earth-type contractor stepped forward, a yellow-brown glow flickering on his hands.

A bullet shot toward Su Xiao at incredible speed.
Su Xiao swung his arm and slashed out with his blade. A sharp, crisp sound rang out. The bullet was deflected. He stepped onto a pool of blood on the ground—his own blood.

Su Xiao stomped the ground beneath him and vanished from their sight in an instant. He had used the Shave technique.

Blood sprayed. The female perception-type contractor was bisected at the waist. In Su Xiao’s perception, she was more troublesome than Liuli. It was her assistance to Liuli that had kept Su Xiao controlled for so long.

Su Xiao leaned sideways, exposing the upper half of his body from behind the stone wall. He raised the gun, aimed, and slowed his breathing. A bullet flew toward him.

The bullet was blocked by another energy shield. The moment the shield shattered, Su Xiao pulled the trigger. The crosshairs in his sight had already locked onto the enemy 300 meters away.
The enemy was hiding atop a stone pillar over twenty meters high. It was a decent sniping position—providing fire support without being too high to avoid concentrated enemy fire.
Su Xiao pulled the trigger.

After five shots, the top of the stone pillar 300 meters away was blown apart. Rubble mixed with broken corpses fell down.
