# Chapter 6: Chaotic Slaughter

Amidst the surging tide of chaotic slaughter, over a dozen orcs charged toward Su Xiao. They wore crude wooden armor made from a type of high-density timber. Though the wood had decent hardness, the craftsmanship was shoddy. The only presentable items on these orcs were the fine steel weapons in their hands.

Although the dwarf tribe helped forge weapons and armor for the orc side, the sheer number of orcs made it impossible to equip every single one with armor. Even if the dwarves forged without rest, they couldn't manage it. At most, they could provide each orc with a suitable weapon.

Su Xiao scanned an orc's attributes. These orcs had Strength and Agility between 30-40 points, slightly higher than Imperial soldiers, but they lacked skills like military formations.

Su Xiao actively advanced toward the dozen orcs. A faint stench of body odor wafted over—who knew how long since these creatures had bathed. But on this battlefield thick with the pungent smell of blood, that body odor seemed faint by comparison.

The first to engage Su Xiao was a lion-headed orc. This lion-head had no mane and a bulging chest, likely female.

Su Xiao didn't activate Azure Steel Shadow. Before his talent ability Soul Devourer was fully activated, he couldn't recklessly waste mana points.

The female lion-head stared at Su Xiao with eyes full of hatred—the kind of irreconcilable hatred forged over millennia of racial warfare.

"For Bebeya."

The female lion-head let out a hoarse roar, recalling a young female lion-head in her mind. That was her daughter, who had also joined the war, been captured in defeat, and subsequently disappeared without a trace. Generally speaking, attractive female orcs captured weren't killed but were instead trained and sold as slaves to nobles with peculiar aesthetic tastes.

A blood-stained greatsword swung toward Su Xiao. He shifted his footing, sidestepping to dodge. Following the momentum of the greatsword's forward slash, the female lion-head ended up aligned with Su Xiao, her body leaning forward.

Su Xiao's left hand, wrapped in a metal arm guard, shot out and grabbed the female lion-head's throat. He squeezed.

*Crack.*

"Ugh~"

Blood gushed from the female lion-head's mouth as the greatsword flew from her grasp. Her throat had been crushed.

Su Xiao swung the female lion-head's body and hurled her toward several orcs. Her eyes rapidly lost their luster.

*Bam!*

The female lion-head's corpse knocked several orcs to the ground. Some had their arms broken, others even their necks snapped. Su Xiao's Strength attribute was a full 73 points—anything he threw with full force was more powerful than a cannonball.

As the orcs were knocked down, Su Xiao charged forward. The orcs only felt a chill at their necks, then their perspective began spinning wildly.

Several orc heads, faces filled with shock, flew into the air. The headless bodies spurted blood like fountains.

"Don't... don't come closer!"

An orc with a broken spine writhed on the ground. Su Xiao stepped forward, his long blade piercing the orc's throat. The orc twitched a few times before going still.

Nearby, an orc with a broken arm lay face-down on the ground, playing dead. If Su Xiao turned his back, it would spring up.

Su Xiao glanced at the prone orc and casually slashed out a blade aura.

*Pfft.*

The blade aura carved a several-meter-long furrow in the ground, cleanly cutting the orc in two.

After dealing with the dozen or so orcs nearby, Su Xiao checked Reincarnation Paradise's notifications. His mana points had increased by 80 total, and he'd gained 156 Paradise Coins.

Su Xiao looked around. Everywhere, human soldiers and orcs were locked in chaotic combat.

*Bam!*

A dull thud sounded not far away. Su Xiao focused his gaze. A dwarf riding a wild boar was charging through the human soldiers.

This dwarf wielded a short-handled warhammer, wore full black armor, and rode an extremely sturdy wild boar. The boar's head and torso were also covered in armor. This was the dwarf clan's elite unit—Mountain Cavalry. Though they rode wild boars instead of horses.

Don't underestimate wild boars. In nature, the ferocity of wild boars and horses isn't even comparable. Forget horses—even tigers don't want to mess with wild boars.

Moreover, this dwarf's boar had blood-red eyes, clearly not an ordinary breed.

"Hey, you over there."

The dwarf looked at Su Xiao from afar, his warhammer swinging upward as he spoke. *Bam.* It crushed a human soldier's helmet and skull together.

Su Xiao flicked blood from his hand. The heavily bearded dwarf slapped his boar. The beast, like a small tank, lowered its head and charged, knocking human soldiers flying in its path.

Su Xiao slashed down an orc that rushed at him, showing no fear of the dwarf cavalry's intimidation as he strode straight toward his opponent.

The dwarf swung his warhammer, the short-handled weapon flipping left and right in his hands. Any soldier struck had their armor dented and coughed up blood as they fell, clearly not long for this world.

The distance between Su Xiao and the dwarf rapidly closed. Wherever they passed, blood splattered and heads flew.

The gap between Su Xiao and the dwarf grew narrower. At about three meters, he could even hear the powerful snorting of the boar beneath the dwarf.

"Hyah!"

The dwarf straightened his body, raising his warhammer high, clearly intending to flatten Su Xiao.

Su Xiao extended his hand forward, his advancing steps suddenly stopping. A layer of energy shield appeared before him.

*Boom!*

The boar slammed hard into the energy shield. The tremendous impact force directly broke the boar's snout. The dwarf behind the boar cried out in surprise, his body uncontrollably crashing toward the energy shield.

*Bam.* The dwarf in his metal helmet hit the energy shield head-first. His already short neck seemed to shorten further. His brain buzzed—this impact was too severe. Cracks even appeared on the 100-point-strength energy shield.

Su Xiao immediately dismissed the energy shield and thrust Dragon-Slaying Flash forward.

*Shiiing~*

The straight long blade pierced into the dwarf's mouth and out through the back of his skull.

At the same time, Su Xiao stomped on the boar's forehead, pressing it hard toward the ground.

*Crack.* The boar's skull shattered, brain matter spraying several meters.

"Ahhh!!"

The dwarf with the pierced skull let out a garbled roar. He didn't die immediately. Blood gushed from his mouth as he used his last strength to hurl his warhammer at Su Xiao.

Su Xiao twisted his blade-wielding hand. The dwarf's movement halted, the warhammer flying from his grasp. It spun dozens of times in the air before smashing into an orc's head. That orc, about to kill a handsome male elf, was dazed by the warhammer that came from nowhere. The elf stabbed the orc dead with his sword. That elf, having escaped death, would never imagine a dwarf had saved him.

This was the battlefield—mad, bloody, chaotic. One moment you're killing enemies, the next you might be wounded by a weapon from who-knows-where.

Not only that, in such chaotic combat, even allied forces weren't necessarily reliable. If allies got bloodlust, friendly fire was very likely.

Su Xiao stepped on the dwarf's shoulder, pulling Dragon-Slaying Flash from his mouth. An orc charged at Su Xiao from behind. He reversed his blade grip, dodging a long-handled battle axe while slitting the orc's throat.

[You have killed Tribal Army: Mountain Cavalry Dwarf·Baroyin.]
[You have gained 160 Paradise Coins.]
[Your talent 'Soul Devourer' has activated, permanently increasing mana points by 12.]

This dwarf wasn't particularly strong. He wasn't a chieftain, just a member of the dwarf elite forces.
