Chapter: 17.36mm Bullet
A 17.36mm bullet flew at hypersonic speed, stirring up layers of airwaves in the atmosphere. Because its kinetic energy was so immense, the projectile even gave the impression of piercing through space itself.
The moment Nobunaga heard the gunshot, every hair on his body stood on end. Behind him, it felt as if a scythe-wielding Grim Reaper had appeared, its eyes a chilling blue.
Nobunaga's reaction could only be described as lightning-fast. His crossed legs shifted, transforming from a seated meditation posture to kneeling on the ground.
A flash of blade light appeared. The 17.36mm bullet reached Nobunaga's front, and the sword edge collided with the projectile.
Clang!
A crisp sound rang out. Nobunaga's longsword hummed as the blade shattered into a large gap, and his arm holding the sword suffered severe dislocation.
By now, Shalnark had also reacted, but he could only watch helplessly. Aside from throwing himself in front of Nobunaga to block the shot, he had no other option.
Shizuku clutched her abdomen in pain. A fragment of Nobunaga's shattered blade had pierced through her stomach, creating a bloody hole. This showed just how terrifying the force of the collision between the sword and bullet was.
"Quick—"
Uvogin roared out a single word, but from the distant hillside came another gunshot. Machi, Shizuku, Shalnark, Uvogin, and even Nobunaga all knew—they were done for this time.
Boom!
The gunshot shook the valley. The recoil of the Spider Empress was too strong; after firing, the muzzle severely kicked upward. Su Xiao used all his strength to press the barrel back down, and the stone slab beneath him cracked with a sharp sound.
Aim, fire—the movements were seamless.
Boom!
Another gunshot rang out, pushing Nobunaga deeper into the abyss.
Everything around seemed to slow down. Uvogin's face twisted in anguish as he ignored the attacks from the Shadow Beasts and charged toward Nobunaga's direction.
Shizuku manifested her Blinky, the dazed glasses-wearing girl trying to use her vacuum cleaner to block the bullet for Nobunaga.
Shalnark inserted an antenna into his own body, while Machi conjured a thread of Nen.
With a crack, the second bullet embedded itself into the rock behind Nobunaga, blasting a massive crater. Nobunaga had dodged the second shot.
The third bullet followed immediately, predicting Nobunaga's movement trajectory.
