Chapter 13: Blazing
The dark clouds in the sky were stained with blood. The rumbling, muffled thunder cast an invisible pressure over the battlefield. Ahead, the ancient abyssal existence, Xi Yu, a hundred meters long with three tails turned into sharp blades, opened eyes all over its head, all vertical pupils fixed on the enemy before it.
Crack!
A crisp sound came from in front of Xi Yu. The figure a hundred meters away was still in place, but who was this powerful presence so close at hand?
‘Extreme Blade: Heavy Moon.’
A pitch-black full moon appeared overhead. A cylindrical gravitational slash might descended, immediately pinning the beast-form Xi Yu to the ground. All its limbs twisted and splayed outward, layers of air waves spreading around.
The tip of the long blade stabbed toward the center of Xi Yu’s head. In the past, Xi Yu would have ignored this attack, but at this moment, an intense sense of death convinced it that being pierced through the center of its head by this blade meant certain death. It wasn't that the center of its head was its original vital point; it was that when this blade struck, that spot became its vital point.
‘Extreme Blade: Piercing Star.’
A flickering star radiance exploded on the abyssal sky wall behind Xi Yu. With a booming crash, several layers of black rock on the outer abyssal sky wall shattered. The abyssal creatures along the path were all broken into black blood beads.
Xi Yu glanced sideways at this scene. If it had been hit by that attack just now, it would have died. Only then did it have a chance to see its enemy clearly. This was a... human?
Xi Yu’s eyes widened noticeably. After all, this human before it was too different from the humans in its memory. It wasn't a difference in appearance, but in aura and level of power.
Just as Xi Yu was about to burrow into an abyssal fissure, a heavy pressure crashed down from above again.
Thump!!
Xi Yu flew backward, spitting blood. Suddenly, it felt a sense of danger from above. A massive hand of blood energy fiercely grabbed at it. Accompanied by cracking sounds, Xi Yu's size rapidly shrank from its full combat form of over a kilometer. In a very short time, it transformed into a three-meter-long, semi-fluid, dark furious beast.
Xi Yu suddenly turned into an afterimage, its entire body becoming a black fluid that attached itself to a fatally wounded contractor. The black fluid surged, and after Xi Yu completed its possession, its aura suddenly strengthened by a notch. Clearly, the possession state was its strongest form.
A strange-shaped blade, like metal and bone, appeared in its hand, blocking the horizontally slashing long blade.
Clang!
The crisp sound of the clash rang out. Layers of air waves spread, and the surrounding space suddenly cracked.
Crack, crack, crack~
Cracks appeared on the strange-shaped blade, which then shattered. Dragon-Slaying Flash swept across Xi Yu's throat and neck. Its body suddenly paused, as if in disbelief.
Zheng, zheng, zheng.
After a series of high-speed slashes, slashes that seemed to outline a semicircular cutting line followed one after another. Xi Yu and the possessed Apocalypse contractor were both killed instantly. So decisive. Did they think holding an Apocalypse contractor hostage would make Su Xiao hesitate? No such possibility existed.
Xi Yu, now a pile of mud, tremblingly reformed its head on the ground. Its single remaining vertical pupil stared at Su Xiao, not with fear, but with brutality and cruelty, even unto death.
[You have killed Abyssal Existence: Xi Yu.]
[You have obtained Gene Fragment: Possessor.]
...
A diamond-shaped, translucent black crystal floated ahead. As Su Xiao grasped it, he swapped positions with the Demon Spirit, returning to the side of the insectoid mother nest.
Su Xiao observed the black crystal in his hand, the [Gene Fragment: Possessor]. Inside was a complex, intertwined structure with a black light spot in the center, like a slowly beating core.
[Do you wish to use the Insectoid Gene Bank to absorb this gene fragment? Current absorption success rate: 61.87%.]
Su Xiao had thought the success rate would be very low. Unexpectedly, the Elemental Insectoid's compatibility with Abyss-system gene fragments was actually 60%. Thinking about it, the relationship between Abyss and Elements—mutual transformation and opposition—made this success rate quite reasonable.
Su Xiao tossed this item to a worker scorpion, which quickly ran into the mother nest. Soon, Jila used the mother nest to devour the [Gene Fragment: Possessor]. It succeeded smoothly, seemingly not inheriting Su Xiao's 'top-tier luck'.
He allocated the few [Elemental Potential Points] he had just obtained to the nest level. Suddenly, Su Xiao felt the ground beneath him tremble. The side [Abyss Purification Device] emitted a hum, its color changing from semi-transparent to a blazing red at the center, indicating the device had begun operating at overload.
Even from the base camp, Su Xiao could see the pitch-black liquid beads condensing in the air. This signified that the Abyss's offensive had officially begun. From the moment the Abyss Gate opened, the continuous stream of abyssal creatures and the occasional appearance of powerful abyssal existences were just the prelude, the opening for the Abyss Legion to enter. Without enough Dark Blood to contaminate this world, the Abyss Legion could not enter this realm.
They belonged solely to the Abyss. Only by paving the way with Dark Blood could the Abyss Legion descend.
Su Xiao vanished from his spot and reappeared on top of their base camp. The appearance of the Wind Sea battlefield had changed. If before it was like black clouds pressing down, weighing heavily on the heart, now the entire sky of the Wind Sea Continent was burning!
In the distance straight ahead, the Abyss Gate had opened to its maximum. It no longer spewed out cannon fodder... ah, no, those dark beasts couldn't even be considered cannon fodder for the Abyss faction. And the Abyss faction's determination to take the Wind Sea Continent first wasn't arrogance at all; it was a steady approach to ensure victory.
In front of the Abyss Gate stood a row of bloated-bellied monsters, covered in eyes, carrying hollow giant beast horns over ten meters long. They stood on either side of the Abyss Gate, smashed the ten-meter-long hollow horns into the ground, opened their jaws wide, and sucked in air, their bellies swelling hugely.
Woooom!!
A long, deep horn sound came.
Thump~, thump~, thump~
Like the sound of war drums came from within the Abyss Gate. Tall figures, some with four arms, some with three, walked out from the Abyss Gate. Their upper bodies were humanoid, their lower bodies like beasts or horses. They were cast in iron-black metal, forming scale armor that clung to their skin. On either side of their necks were several rows of air holes, emitting heavy, powerful breaths.
These were the Abyss's Epu tribe, meaning 'Tramplers of Life' in the Abyssal language. The tallest, a leader-level Epu, took a deep breath of the Star Realm's air.
"Pru (Abyssal)."
The sound of orderly marching came. The Abyss race, formed into squares, walked out from the towering Abyss Gate. Within these formations were many massive giant beasts, and on their heads were various small-bodied abyssal creatures controlling their movements.
After the Epu leader gave the order, a dwarf-like abyss race on top of a giant monster forcefully inhaled, sucking back the black liquid it had half-spat out, no longer blocking the perception of the beast beneath it.
The released perception caused the abyssal giant beast to burst into orange-red raging flames all over its body. With a deep, high-pitched roar, it charged out first.
On the opposite side, the Apocalypse contractors, who had just been confused by the enemy's inexplicable retreat, now all had expressions of seeing a ghost.
Iron-Blooded Rose: Betanxina's face was extremely ugly. Beside her, Fei Ka Xiu's eyelids twitched. The tall, muscular Apocalypse peak battle angel, Shan Ju, kept muttering a certain common monosyllabic plant name.
Even the peak contractors in the front row felt such pressure. The Supreme-rank contractors in the back row looked ashen-faced. They had thought the Abyss campaign would just be brutal, not the hellish nightmare they imagined—dangerous but full of opportunity. But now, you're telling me that the continuous charge of abyssal creatures before was just paving the way with blood for the Abyss Legion's entry?
Was it the regimental commander's fault for not providing this information? No, it really wasn't. The previous Lord of the Abyss didn't have an Abyss Legion under his command. Or rather, the last Abyss outbreak was simply the rapid depletion of natural elements caused by the rapid rise of Arcane Eternal Star, leading to an elemental vacuum phenomenon. Therefore, that Abyss campaign had no winner or loser; the Star Realm returned to a state of balance.
But the current Lord of the Abyss was powerful, iron-fisted, with a burning ambition full of malice towards the Star Realm, and the completely collapsed Abyss/Element balance.
Boom! Boom!
The charge of the abyssal giant beasts made the earth tremble. Just as an abyssal giant beast charged to the first line of defense, a lean but tough man suddenly stepped forward and punched the beast's head, which was equipped with a ramming spike.
With a sound like a star colliding, the abyssal giant beast was sent tumbling head over heels, blood oozing from its mouth and nose. The Apocalypse peak powerhouse, Hei Qixing, who had thrown the iron fist, flexed his slightly sore wrist. The power of this abyssal war beast was not to be underestimated.
But the next second, the abyssal war beast got up, raised its front hooves, and stomped the ground. A shockwave of power exploded outwards.
If it were a one-on-one fight, Hei Qixing could completely destroy this abyssal giant beast. The problem was, this was the Wind Sea battlefield. Hei Qixing was a strong all-rounder, while the abyssal war beast, Broken Horn Hammer, was born for the battlefield. Pain was the only thing it felt; it would enjoy the pain the enemy inflicted until it lost consciousness.
"Captain, reinforcements. We need reinforcements."
Fei Ka Xiu, with his silver-white metallic wings, urgently said to Iron-Blooded Rose: Betanxina. As a peak powerhouse, he certainly wasn't afraid of the Abyss Legion ahead. The problem was, once this Abyss Legion charged over, their Supreme and Absolute Strength contractors would suffer massive casualties under this dark tide.
Iron-Blooded Rose: Betanxina didn't speak. The nearby soul mage from Death Paradise, over five meters tall, also didn't speak, but his gaze was a bit speechless. Reinforcements? Most of the reinforcement teams were already on the Wind Sea Continent. And Z Lady, with her gentle temperament and definitely nine-out-of-ten looks, directly cursed.
Iron hooves approached. The leader-level Epu, Bo Gu E, swung his strange-shaped long-handled war blade, devouring an original gravity missile fired by Iron-Blooded Rose: Betanxina. The rain of long-range abilities from the sky blasted his armor full of pits and holes. A thin, spiral missile pierced his head, and the killing effect brought down this Epu leader.
Iron-Blooded Rose: Betanxina's palm emitted wisps of white smoke. She had just breathed a sigh of relief when she saw, at the Abyss Gate, a massive figure crawling out. When this giant stood up, its tens-of-thousands-of-meters-tall form brought immense pressure. This giant didn't directly attack the defense line but instead reached its hands towards the sky.
"Stop it!!"
Iron-Blooded Rose: Betanxina shouted. Hei Qixing, who had been near her, had already turned into a streak of starlight and pierced through the dark giant's head.
Unfortunately, not far away, another dark giant tore open the sky with its hands, creating a thousand-meter-long pitch-black fissure. A sea of Epu cavalry poured out from within. Was Bo Gu E the leader of all Epu? Of course not. He was just a leader-level; as the basic component of the Abyss Legion, there were many leader-level Epu, so many that Bo Gu E was just a minor chieftain.
Looking from above, the Abyss Legion advanced like a tide of iron-black metal. The defense line formed by the Apocalypse contractors inevitably showed some chaos. Upon contact, the Apocalypse defense line began to collapse instantly. The first line of defense was lost in seconds.
A battle angel of Supreme-rank power had just climbed out of a pool of blood, preparing to fly into the sky, when a strange-shaped piercing spear pierced her. Her whole body went numb from the influx of abyssal energy. Gritting her teeth, she gathered all her bodily energy into her heart, compressing it to the limit, about to unleash the final light of her life.
Zheng!
A pitch-black glaive swept past. It was an ugly snake-man, clad in a tattered dark-gold robe, its sharp eyes constantly scanning its surroundings, clearly an old hand in this chaotic battlefield.
The dark tide rapidly pushed towards their base camp. However, on the two flanks of the battlefield, dark red and golden lights contained the advance of the Abyss Legion on those sides. On the central and rear battlefields, the Abyss Legion's advance slowed after reaching the sixth line of defense, even starting to be pushed back slightly. This was because, facing such a desperate situation, the Apocalypse contractors used various expensive and powerful one-time killing items.
Inside the Wind Sea base camp, the gates of the four defense lines—front, back, left, and right—were flooded with heavily wounded contractors. Some wailed incessantly under the erosion of abyssal energy. The unlucky ones simply stopped mid-wail, eroded to death.
A thick smell of blood permeated the air. A red-haired contractor took out an injection. The intense pain had twisted his young face. He injected it into the side of his neck. Just as half the potion was pushed in, the young man's head drooped, and he fell to the ground, dead.
On the battlefield, furious beasts roared. A giant raised a thousand-meter-long warhammer over its head and hurled it with full force towards their base camp. The spinning thousand-meter hammer let out a terrifying howl.
Clang!
A long blade stopped the hammer. A side kick sent it flying back. This time, the hammer turned into a circular wheel, crashing heavily into the waist of the tallest dark giant present, a hundred-thousand-meter-level dark giant.
Boom!
Like a rain of blood falling, the waist area of the dark giant leader turned into a bloody mist. The dark giant let out a heavy, mournful cry. Its semi-rotted legs collapsed, and its upper body hit the ground.
The dark giant's legs were plated with metal armor, but its feet were still highly rotted, bones visible in some places. Why was this? Because after the Star Realm's Abyss Era ended and the dark giants were driven back into the Abyss, they could only survive in the muddy sediment at the bottom of the Abyss. The sediment brought decay, and prolonged exposure to decay caused this.
There's an important concept: Abyss races are different from Abyss Spawn. Abyss races are the exiles after defeat; Abyss Spawn/Abyss Existences are the original inhabitants of the Abyss.
The dark giant race was a dark race born and strengthened in the Abyssal Star Realm after an Abyss calamity struck at the end of a certain great era, successfully plunging the Star Realm into the Abyss Era.
But the Abyss and Elements would eventually reach a balance. When that day came, the Abyss races, burned at their roots by the Elemental Light, could only retreat into the darkness until they completely left the Star Realm and returned to the Abyss. But they weren't born in the Abyss; even if they could survive there, it was difficult and painful.
As long as they were intelligent beings, they wouldn't follow a leader who only sought destruction. The current Lord of the Abyss planned to drive the super-massive ancient abyssal existences to tear apart the Star Realm. More accurately, it was to tear apart the outer layer of the Star Realm, completely destroy the Elemental Layer, and plunge the Star Realm into a longer Abyss Era. This was a hellish nightmare for the Star Realm's inhabitants, but it was what all Abyss races within the current Abyss yearned for.
"Mo wu bu sa! (Abyssal)"
The dark giant, now only its upper half remaining, raised its clenched fists. Its eyes held unprecedented determination and ferocity. It *must* seize the Star Realm for its race and usher in the Abyss Era once more!
Zheng!
A slashing mark swept diagonally. The dark giant's movements suddenly stopped, and it finally collapsed.
The resolve of their own combatants to resist the Abyss was firm; failure meant death. And the resolve of the Abyss races to restore their former glory and usher in the Abyss Era was equally strong. Take the dark giant race, struggling to survive at the bottom of the Abyss. If not for the grace of the current Lord of the Abyss, they would have long been extinct.
Overlooking the battlefield, dark giants strode among the charging Epu. Rotting matter burning with black flames was thrown from their rear, trailing flames as it crashed into the barrier of their base camp. The sky was filled with countless flying black shadows, flying against the chain gun fire of combat armor. Various energy weapons bloomed like gorgeous fireworks. Debris fell in blazing red parabolas. Explosions never stopped, deafening, the earth trembling incessantly.
Some unknown tycoon even summoned a giant battleship overhead, continuously unleashing a rain of cannon volleys, carpet-bombing the area. But it didn't stay impressive for long. A pitch-black pillar of light descended from the sky and blasted it.
Figures with pale skin, wearing robes that seemed to flow like liquid, looking very wizard-like, floated out from the dark gate. These were the Abyss race: Dark Ones.
Half an hour later, there were no flying combatants left in the sky. The enemy had countless Dark Ones. Whoever flew was instantly focused and killed. Their own side, the bloodshot-eyed Apocalypse contractors, would lock onto and blast any enemy who dared to fly into slag with outrageously expensive, ridiculously powerful tech-side weapons.
Now, the only things flying in the sky, besides the trailing black rotting matter, were their own high-parabola, ultra-long-range killing abilities.
Amidst the chaotic enemy forces, Su Xiao made a diagonal slash. A large group of Black Knights beside him were all shattered. Black Knights were another basic unit of the Abyss Legion. They were heavily armored warriors riding an exceptionally strong type of abyssal war beast: the Hoofed Clawed Beast, which had hooves on its hind legs, sharp claws on its front legs, a mouth full of sharp teeth, and black tentacles on its body.
‘Extreme Blade: Super: Ring Break.’
Whoosh! A ring-shaped blade aura of black flames appeared. The enemies surging in like a tide were instantly cut in two. The view around Su Xiao immediately cleared.
Looking around, Su Xiao had no allies nearby. The insectoids were still in their developmental stage. But coincidentally, the insectoids were best at fighting uphill battles.
A spectacular scene unfolded. The entire battlefield had only one battle group left: the Abyss Legion surrounding and killing Su Xiao alone. All the Apocalypse contractors had been forced to retreat to the four gates of the base camp—east, west, south, north. It must be said, the Wind Sea base camp's sturdiness was likely the best among the six battlefields, even more durable than the Void Fortress of the core battlefield.
The reason was that after the Void Tree notarized this fortress, Apocalypse Paradise used a massive amount of resources to strengthen it.
Wealth was sometimes a manifestation of strength. For example, the Wind Sea base camp currently had 800,000,000 points of [Highest Tier Armor Value]. Although it would eventually be breached, it at least gave the combatants some buffer time.
Zheng, zheng, zheng!
Blade aura crisscrossed. The roars of giant beasts were endless. The three basic units of the Abyss Legion—Epu, Black Knights, and Snake-men—never stopped their siege on Su Xiao. A dark giant swung its battle axe down.
Zheng!
A slashing mark passed straight through the middle of the dark giant's body. It was cut in half. Black blood splattered, and various organs and filth spilled down. It seemed Su Xiao was being besieged, but in reality, there was always a fungal carpet under his feet.
One man, one blade, facing the surging Abyss Legion from all sides, killing until a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood a thousand meters high formed, which the fungal carpet couldn't absorb fast enough. This was the caliber of the current strongest Supreme Peak in the Star Realm.
Boom!
A war spear pierced Su Xiao's shoulder. His health dropped by a small chunk. He was indeed powerful now, but he hadn't yet reached the Supreme Realm. Being constantly besieged by the Abyss Legion was still very risky. Moreover, powerful Abyss Descendants and ancient abyssal existences lurked in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity.
Dark blue smoke began to rise from Su Xiao's body. This was the sign of him activating Azure Shadow King.
[Azure Shadow King: X (Ultimate Skill)]
Skill Effect (State 1: Demon Shadow: Active): Upon activation, all your Supreme attributes increase by 10%. For each enemy killed (enemy must have a sufficiently high existence rank, such as Abyss Spawn, Elemental Spirit...), by absorbing the enemy's [Primordial Life Force], through the transformation and filtration of [Azure Shadow King: Devouring Core], recover 25% of your maximum Health, 25% of your maximum Stamina, 25% of your Azure Shadow King Energy, and gain 1 layer of [Demon Spirit Armor].
Demon Spirit Armor: The damage you receive within 1 second will not exceed 20% of your maximum Health. Any excess damage will be mitigated by consuming 1 layer of [Demon Spirit Armor] (if the attack intensity required for mitigation is too high, more layers of [Demon Spirit Armor] will be consumed for mitigation).
Current maximum stackable layers of Demon Spirit Armor: 5 layers.
Note: Maintaining this state consumes 1 point of Azure Shadow King Energy per second.
Current Azure Shadow King Energy: 78420/78420 points...
...
As long as Su Xiao didn't actively deactivate the Azure Shadow King ability, [Azure Shadow King Energy] wouldn't run out. The only risk was that continuously activating the Azure Shadow King ability would accelerate the Demonization process. But he was a Technique Grandmaster, currently having 46 Supreme Stamina, ah no, 49.5 Supreme Stamina. If this were datafied into a Demonization Resistance bar, it would be very long. Coupled with his high Willpower, the Demonization bar would fill up very slowly.
Standing on the towering mountain of corpses, Su Xiao saw the Apocalypse contractors retreating to the base camp as a good thing. Moreover, the east and west gates were guarded by the Blade Demon and Deer God, so he didn't have to worry about abyssal existences sneaking into their base camp to destroy the insect nest. And with the Demon Spirit by Jila's side, if Jila encountered danger, he could return via [Substitution] the next second.
The sky was burning, the earth was saturated with abyssal blood. Su Xiao flicked the dark blood off his blade. Bare-chested, he looked around, showing no awareness of being surrounded. His aura was more like: Come at me. Today, we fight until the world turns dark!
A Black Knight leader stared at Su Xiao. After a brief standoff, it let out a roar and led a group of abyss races charging forward. Clearly, it shouted "Follow me," not "Charge for me." Abyss races were all very brave and fearless.
The melee began!
Around midnight, with Su Xiao at the center, a monstrous wave of blood surged outwards, clearing the Abyss Legion from half the battlefield. But the Abyss Legion pouring out of the Abyss Gate seemed endless. All kinds of long-range attacks bombarded Su Xiao without stopping, but they only broke through his [Demon Spirit Armor]. This thing itself had a certain durability and could block quite a few attacks.
Boom!
The invisible [Demon Spirit Armor] on Su Xiao shattered into smoke. But with one slash of his blade, a small group of enemies ahead were cut in two, and his [Demon Spirit Armor] refreshed back to five layers.
The Wind Sea battlefield had no morning sky phenomenon. It could only be judged by the faint white light on the horizon that it was now dawn. The Abyss Legion's siege on Su Xiao never stopped.
Inside a fissure space near the Abyss Gate were the fish clan leader, old man-like Eum Kensar; the beast clan leader, burly villain-like Luen Kui; the bronze clan leader; the collective leader; and the chimera clan leader. All five clan leaders were here, watching the Law Destroyer being besieged outside.
"Let's move."
Beast clan leader Luen Kui spoke. If not for the Lord of the Abyss's order, he wouldn't participate in this siege. In the beast clan, battles were one-on-one.
"Wait a little longer."
Fish clan leader Eum Kensar spoke. Hearing this, Luen Kui's vertical pupils narrowed. He was about to say something when the collective leader, formed like tens of millions of black scale thread worms, expressed support for the fish clan leader in a hoarse Abyssal language.
The siege on the battlefield continued. Compared to the Wind Sea base camp, the Abyss Legion's siege on Su Xiao was more intense. The reason was that if Su Xiao wasn't eliminated, even if they captured the Wind Sea Continent, he would still be a powerhouse capable of influencing the war's outcome on other main battlefields.
The mountain of corpses and sea of blood around Su Xiao grew more astonishing. [Super: Ring Break] was unleashed every half hour. By the evening of that day, the depths of his eyes had turned pitch black. The armor durability of the Wind Sea base camp was still at 81.6% and could slowly recover. It had to be said, this base camp was truly tough.
By noon the next day, on the battlefield filled with the sounds of killing, another wave of blood surged outwards. Standing on a towering mountain of bones, Su Xiao had a rare moment of respite. With pitch-black eyes, he slashed downwards. The bone mountain beneath his feet collapsed with a boom, causing him to fall. Just before he hit the ground, his descent speed suddenly slowed.
Amidst the flying embers around him, abyssal giant beasts, Epu, Black Knights, Snake-men, Dark Giants, and the Dark Scale tribe, the Twisted Treant Legion, once again charged at Su Xiao. Unlike yesterday, the gaze of these abyss races towards Su Xiao, besides killing intent and hatred, now held a hint of wariness.
Su Xiao downed the potion in his hand and checked his current status. Life Cores remaining: 108/186. His current 80 million health could be restored by killing enemies. But when a Life Core shattered, killing enemies couldn't restore it. Under siege, the surprise attacks from the strongest ancient abyssal existences were indeed dangerous.
He casually tossed aside the crystal vial. The chaotic slaughter continued!
The sky was still burning, but the ground where Su Xiao stood looked like it was ignited by embers, flickering between light and dark. The charging Abyss Legion was fearless. After losing air superiority, abyssal creatures pounced down from above without stopping. Abyssal existences also frequently emerged from the ground beneath his feet. Enemies came from 360 degrees.
Even so, they could only continue to besiege Su Xiao. All Supreme attributes 49.5 points, Heaven's Edge Shadow Slash ability Lv.150, wielding a Reincarnation Rank: Second Seat: Reinforcement +18 blade. The Extreme Realm Grandmaster: Shadow of Law Destruction. Get to know him.
"Roar!"
A leader-level abyssal giant beast smashed through layers of space, charging at Su Xiao. Su Xiao slashed with force. This ten-thousand-meter-long, leader-level abyssal giant beast, clad in thick, pitch-black battle armor, suddenly stopped in place under the 'roar' of the slashing might. Looking at it again, only a huge skeleton remained; its flesh and blood had been slashed away, scattered to who knows where.
By noon on the fourth day, the durability of their base camp was less than 15%. Being besieged like this was indeed not a solution.
In the area where Su Xiao was, the Abyss Legion, which had been charging fearlessly, stopped for the first time a few minutes ago. Instead, they gathered around. These abyssal giant beasts, Epu, Black Knights, Snake-men, Dark Giants, Dark Scale tribe, Twisted Treants, etc., showed a hint of fear in their eyes for the first time. They were afraid of this human wielding a long blade, with pitch-black eyes, and a brutal, murderous aura.
Ultimately, these Abyss Legions were, in essence, intelligent beings of the Abyss system. When facing such a terrifying enemy, this moment was bound to come sooner or later.
"I never thought you Law Destroyer could last this long."
Fish clan leader Eum Kensar walked over from a distance. Flanking him were the tall, or weird, or sanity-destroying abyss powerhouses. The five clan leaders of the major Abyss Descendants had finally shown themselves.
Holding his long blade, bare-chested, with pitch-black eyes, Su Xiao narrowed his eyes slightly. The Elemental Insectoid's nest and gene bank levels were fully upgraded. Now that the five clan leaders of the major Abyss Descendants had also appeared, it was time to start the counterattack.
From the beginning of the siege until now, Su Xiao had actually been doing one thing: converting part of his Azure Shadow King energy into Aoge crystals, letting them continuously spread through the ground beneath him. Because killing enemies restored Azure Shadow King energy, nearly half of the Wind Sea battlefield was now silently covered. Moreover, the fungal carpet, which was repeatedly spreading and being destroyed on the ground, served as the perfect cover for this plan.
Crack, crack, crack~
Aoge crystals climbed onto Dragon-Slaying Flash, then spread to the ground. The moment they touched the ground, the [Realm-Level Law-Destroying Teleportation Array], covering nearly half of the Wind Sea battlefield, appeared. It naturally also encompassed the five clan leaders who had appeared. The target: the collapsing Eternal Light World. There, he would slaughter the five clan leaders of the major Abyss Descendants.
Taking a Day Off
Combat chapters aren't hard for me to write, but today I had a headache while writing, and I'm also running a bit of a fever, with some body aches. I might have caught a cold. I'll take some medicine today and sleep early. No update tomorrow.
I saw some readers today mentioning the issue of Su Xiao's Life Cores. This is indeed my fault for not explaining it well, not particularly highlighting those powerful ancient abyssal existences of the corresponding peak rank hiding in the shadows. It's mainly their Abyss-attribute attacks at the same rank. I will address this later. Also, the setup for deliberately getting injured this time to lure out the five clan leaders wasn't well done. Yesterday, I saw readers saying the pace was too slow and it was too much filler, so I sped up the pace a bit, but didn't control it well. It's my problem and mistake. I will make adjustments. I appreciate the corrections and suggestions from the readers. I will correct any faults and encourage where there are none. Thank you for your understanding.
I won't rest this Sunday. I'll move the day off to tomorrow. The headache is indeed quite uncomfortable. Please forgive me, readers.
