Inside the dilapidated hall, its roof long gone, a pitch-black greatsword was embedded in the ground, wisps of black smoke rising from it. A hand encased in a crystalline layer grasped the greatsword and pulled it free from the earth.

A few minutes later, the Knight Commander, carrying his gun case and holding the life-support device, left the hall. At the door, he paused, nodded to Su Xiao—a man of few words—and then strode away.
Throughout the battle against the Wolf God, the Knight Commander had been solid. Although the damage he dealt to the Wolf God was far less than Seraphilia's, it was proven that having a heavy-armored warrior in the team who could completely block a powerful enemy dramatically increased the chances of victory.
Su Xiao walked to the inner side of the hall, where an Abyss Rift was suspended. He released his Demon Spirit, which was about to enter hibernation, forming it into smoky threads. He manipulated these threads to stitch the Abyss Rift shut. With a final pull, the Abyss Rift was completely sealed.
As the Abyss Rift closed, the stitched spatial folds were smoothed over by the massive elemental energy Su Xiao summoned. Seeing this, he withdrew the Blade Demon Spirit, letting it slumber while it began to devour the primordial life force of the indestructible Abyss Spawn within the Dragon-Slaying Flash.
