# Chapter 1: Night Temptress Witch

The dim candlelight flickered, casting dancing shadows across the stone walls of the dimly lit chamber. The air was thick with the scent of dried herbs and old parchment, a familiar aroma that spoke of ancient rituals and forbidden knowledge.

A figure cloaked in midnight blue stood before a large oak table, her slender fingers tracing the edges of a weathered tome. Her eyes, gleaming with an otherworldly light, scanned the cryptic symbols etched into the yellowed pages.

"Night Temptress Witch," she murmured, her voice a silken whisper that seemed to weave through the shadows themselves. "The last of her kind."

Behind her, the heavy iron door groaned open, and a tall man stepped into the room. His footsteps were silent, his presence barely disturbing the dust motes floating in the candlelight.

"You summoned me?" His voice was low, calm, carrying an edge of steel beneath its surface.

The woman did not turn around. Instead, she lifted a small crystal vial from the table, its contents swirling with a dark, viscous liquid that seemed to absorb the light around it.

"Kukulin Bai Ye," she said, finally turning to face him. Her features were sharp, elegant, with an ageless quality that made her age impossible to determine. "I have something that might interest you."

Bai Ye's eyes narrowed slightly, his hand instinctively resting on the hilt of his blade. "I'm listening."

The woman—the Night Temptress Witch—smiled, a dangerous curve of her lips. "The Abyss stirs. Old powers are awakening, and the balance we've fought to maintain is about to shatter."

She set the vial down and gestured to a chair across from her. "Sit. This will take some time to explain."

Bai Ye remained standing, his gaze fixed on her. "I prefer to stand."

"Very well." She shrugged, her robes rustling like the wings of a nocturnal creature. "Then listen closely, Law Destroyer."

The candle flames flickered, and for a moment, the shadows in the room seemed to deepen, as if something ancient and hungry was listening in.

"The Second Era: Alchemical Civilization is not as dead as we believed," she continued. "And the Hunt List: Blood Pact has been updated."

Bai Ye's expression remained unchanged, but a subtle shift in his posture betrayed his interest. "Go on."

"There are forces at work, Kukulin Bai Ye. Forces that seek to transcend the Transcendent Primordial World itself." She paused, letting the weight of her words settle. "And your name is on their list."

The silence that followed was heavy, broken only by the crackling of the candles.

Bai Ye's hand tightened on his blade. "Then I'll make sure they regret adding it."
