Chapter 32: From War Movie to Horror Film

Tossing several alchemy bombs onto the ground, the bombs split apart into many small white frogs upon landing.
Before long, the white frogs were scattered across the hillside. Su Xiao didn’t detonate the alchemy bombs immediately; he was waiting for an opportunity.

Kicking away a turtle that stretched its head to bite his calf, Su Xiao, covered in blood from the fierce battle, felt somewhat speechless. What exactly were these three seeds?
He could understand attracting some ferocious beasts, but attracting gentle creatures like rabbits and turtles was baffling.
After all, these herbivores were rare in the Red Soil Region—they were precious food sources.
But at this moment, Su Xiao didn’t even glance at these food sources; survival was the priority.

A giant beast resembling a hippopotamus charged forward. This beast stood about four meters tall and was seven meters long.
Seeing the hippopotamus charge, Su Xiao breathed a sigh of relief.
Around him lay the corpses of countless beasts. Though the battle hadn’t lasted long, over a hundred beasts had already fallen to his blade.
He himself bore multiple bite marks and claw wounds. Under the siege of such a massive number of beasts, avoiding injury was impossible.
Moreover, these weren’t ordinary beasts; they were the ferocious creatures of the Red Soil Region’s center. If any of these carnivores were placed on Earth, they would be apex predators.

A mechanical eye floated near Su Xiao—this was the [Havana Eye].
Through the [Havana Eye]’s detection, Su Xiao learned the details of the “giant hippopotamus.”
It wasn’t a hippopotamus at all, but a carnivorous creature called a Brute Horn Beast, with a Strength of 42 and Stamina of 45.
Facing such a terrifying beast two derivative worlds ago, Su Xiao would have turned and fled.
But now, things were different. His attributes were approaching 50 points, and he no longer feared such monsters.

The Brute Horn Beast charged at Su Xiao, its beastly eyes bloodshot.
Su Xiao pulled a [Primordial Seed] from his chest and tossed it down the hillside.
At that moment, all the beasts’ roars ceased. Like puppies spotting a meaty bone, their heads followed the trajectory of the [Primordial Seed].
With a clatter, the [Primordial Seed] hit a rock, bounced high, rolled a few meters, and stopped right in front of a crocodile.
This crocodile froze, happiness arriving too suddenly.
The crocodile swallowed the [Primordial Seed] in one gulp and turned to run down the hillside. But too many beasts surrounded it, and with its low stance and short legs…
Five seconds later, the crocodile was torn apart, leaving only a tail.

Just as the horde of beasts fought over the [Primordial Seed], Su Xiao detonated the nearby alchemy bombs.
Boom!
Flames engulfed Su Xiao, and the Brute Horn Beast screamed within the blaze.
Su Xiao pulled up the collar of his Gale Wind Coat to cover his face and charged headlong toward the Brute Horn Beast.
The flames receded after a dozen seconds, but before they did, the Brute Horn Beast let out a short, sharp scream.
When the flames faded, only the blood-soaked Brute Horn Beast and a large pile of beast corpses remained on the hillside.

The beasts could smell the [Primordial Seed]’s scent, so the seed Su Xiao had thrown triggered a chain of bloodshed.
The poor crocodile was just the first victim; countless more would follow.
Every beast that seized the [Primordial Seed] was besieged by others. Within an hour, the hillside was drenched in blood.
The earlier Brute Horn Beast lay collapsed on the slope, its body twitching occasionally. It wouldn’t live long, but it wouldn’t die quickly either.

Roars echoed endlessly, and the pile of beast corpses on the hillside grew larger.
A two-headed dog stood atop the heap of beast corpses. Even in the central area, this two-headed dog was a formidable predator.
It glanced at the nearby Brute Horn Beast—its old rival—now lying on the slope, near death.
The two-headed dog approached the Brute Horn Beast, its nostrils flaring as if catching a peculiar scent.
Suddenly, the hair on the two-headed dog’s back bristled. It caught a faint but irresistibly alluring smell.
The two-headed dog bit through the Brute Horn Beast’s abdominal cavity, preparing to thrust its head inside.
Pfft.
A sharp long blade stabbed out from within the Brute Horn Beast’s abdomen, catching the two-headed dog off guard and piercing its throat.
Though the two-headed dog was a powerhouse of the central area, it struggled backward despite the throat wound.
“Zzzz~.”
Metal wires coiled around the two-headed dog, slowly dragging it into the Brute Horn Beast’s cavity.
“Whimper, whimper~.”
The two-headed dog let out fearful whines, but that didn’t stop it from being pulled inside.
Pfft, pfft.
Blood sprayed from the Brute Horn Beast’s abdomen. Seconds later, a mangled dog corpse was tossed out.
If one examined the area around the Brute Horn Beast’s body, many such mutilated beast corpses could be found.

Hidden inside the Brute Horn Beast, Su Xiao was drenched in blood. The remaining two seeds were sealed in airtight glass test tubes, emitting no scent.
Even so, the faint smell lingering on his hands occasionally attracted beasts, showing how irresistible the [Primordial Seed] was to them.
Though unclear about the [Primordial Seed]’s purpose, Su Xiao was certain of one thing: it was definitely something good. Something inside him craved it.
This gave Su Xiao an impulse to swallow the [Primordial Seed] directly.
But reason told him that was absolutely impossible. Swallowing that seed would lead to no good end—absolutely none.

Su Xiao had already noticed that the woman applying lipstick on the hillside earlier was highly intelligent. She had set up a death trap.
There weren’t just four [Primordial Seeds]. If Su Xiao guessed correctly, that woman might have obtained over a dozen and scattered them nearby.
Now, the area around Su Xiao had become a slaughterhouse. Beasts fought each other relentlessly. If he hadn’t hidden inside the Brute Horn Beast, he would have died long ago.
The scheming woman never imagined Su Xiao could withstand the beasts’ initial assault, quickly cripple a giant beast, and hide inside its belly.

With so many beast corpses around, no creature would bother gnawing on the Brute Horn Beast’s carcass.
Su Xiao poked his head out to survey the surroundings. After observing for a long time, he sighed.
At least for now, he couldn’t leave. The chaotic beast brawl was growing increasingly frenzied.
The scheming woman’s IQ was indeed high. She had considered the possibility that Su Xiao wouldn’t die immediately, so she placed several [Primordial Seeds] in spots unreachable by beasts. The beasts could smell the seeds but couldn’t get them, forcing them to fight in fixed locations and trapping Su Xiao.

Su Xiao decided to shrink back into the Brute Horn Beast’s body. Though there was no water, plenty of meat was around—raw, but enough to sustain him for days.
Just as Su Xiao prepared to rest, the Brute Horn Beast’s corpse suddenly jolted, as if some massive entity had approached.
The Brute Horn Beast let out a cry that sounded like both weeping and roaring. Then, Su Xiao inside felt a spinning sensation, nearly thrown out.
After a dozen seconds, the spinning stopped. With a slight jolt, everything calmed down.
Su Xiao peered out through the wound on the Brute Horn Beast’s abdomen. The sound of rushing wind reached him. The Brute Horn Beast was now airborne, at least a kilometer above the ground.
Su Xiao was stunned. A very ominous feeling arose.
Looking up, he saw a pair of sharp claws gripping the Brute Horn Beast. The creature carrying it was a massive flying beast.
It was an orange-yellow pterosaur, easily lifting the Brute Horn Beast in flight. One could imagine its size and strength.
Yes, a pterosaur. Su Xiao didn’t know the exact name of this monster, but it looked strikingly like a large pterosaur.
He pulled out the [Havana Eye] to scan it. The result made his hair stand on end.
