Chapter 55: Rush to the Rooftop and Kill Him

Detecting a pirated copy! Su Xiao's mouth twitched. He had truly seen it all today. Reincarnation Paradise really had every kind of weirdo imaginable.

As he quickly reloaded his bullets, two figures rushed toward the drawbridge. He recognized one of them—it was the Revolver Man.

The Mad Healer and the Revolver Man quickly crossed the drawbridge, preparing to enter the Judicial Tower. Su Xiao finished reloading, raised his gun, and fired at the Mad Healer.

Ding.

The shot struck the scythe in the Mad Healer's hand. The Mad Healer quickly dashed into the Judicial Tower.

Five people had already entered the Judicial Tower. Su Xiao didn't care. He couldn't prevent contractors from entering the tower; he could only reduce their numbers. The Underworld Blueprint was on him.

Following the two were over a dozen contractors, all about to rush into the Judicial Tower.

Bang, bang, bang...

Su Xiao fired rapidly. The twenty bullets in the magazine were soon spent. Eight contractors fell, while the rest made it into the tower.

After reloading the Spider Empress's bullets, Su Xiao glanced back. Kalifa had already left; CP9 was likely regrouping.

Scanning the surroundings with his scope, he saw no more contractors on the main island. The weaker ones had gathered on the front island, where they could still gain decent benefits. While they couldn't complete the mission, the rewards there would offset the mission penalties.

Ring, ring, ring...

The alarm beside Su Xiao went off. The time limit for the Optical Infrared Detection Scope 8x (Active) was about to expire.

There were still some Scarlet Cards left uncollected on the main island and the drawbridge, but Su Xiao had no time for that now.

Rapid footsteps echoed. Someone was about to rush to the rooftop—seven people in total, the contractors from the Straw Hat Pirates faction.

Su Xiao lit a cigarette, sat down on a stone platform on the rooftop, and pulled out a white cloth to wipe the barrel of the Spider Empress.

He glanced at Bubuteni. Bubu Wang was already nowhere to be seen.

Looking around, Su Xiao was stunned. He was amazed by Bubu Wang's method of hiding.

To be precise, Bubu Wang wasn't exactly hiding. He was standing on the spire of the Judicial Tower, head slightly raised, as if howling at the sky, motionless like a lifelike sculpture.

Fortunately, there was no wind today, or Bubu Wang's fur would have been blown and exposed.

Bubu Wang's concealment was top-notch. If Su Xiao hadn't lived with him day and night, he would have thought it was a realistic wolf sculpture.

Bubu Wang didn't move a muscle, not even blinking. He had resorted to this desperate measure because he couldn't find a hiding spot. Playing statue was exhausting.

The footsteps downstairs grew more urgent. Seven contractors charged onto the rooftop, wielding all kinds of weapons—some melee, some ranged. Among them was a female healer with blood on her face.

Hatred burned in the healer's eyes. Her lover had been shot in the head by Su Xiao.

"You had a good time sniping, didn't you, you bastard!"

An old man glared at Su Xiao with murderous intent, holding a bow. He hadn't even had time to draw and shoot earlier.

"Don't kill him yet. Capture him and torture him. Make him hand over all his equipment, especially that sniper rifle."

"Yeah, cripple him first, chop off his hands and feet."

The contractors surrounded Su Xiao in a semicircle. Su Xiao chuckled. The expected scenario had actually come true. These contractors thought he was a sniper and had willingly closed in on him.

He put away the Spider Empress and drew the Dragon-Slaying Flash.

The Dragon-Slaying Flash let out a crisp ring. A purple light flashed across the blade. Enhanced to +8, the Dragon-Slaying Flash was exceptionally sharp, its cold gleam intimidating.

"This guy... seems a bit off."

A contractor stepped back. Since when did a sniper have such a sharp aura?

The blood-stained healer was stunned, feeling an urge to turn and run.

Su Xiao gripped the Dragon-Slaying Flash, his demeanor becoming exceptionally sharp. He sized up the contractors with interest.

He activated Azure Steel Shadow. Pale blue arcs of electricity surged along the blade of the Dragon-Slaying Flash.

"Not many people willingly engage me in melee. Setting other factors aside, your courage is commendable."

Su Xiao slowly approached the contractors. They all felt like they had been screwed over. Where was the sniper who was supposed to be weak in close combat? Why had the situation suddenly changed? Had the enemy turned into a melee fighter? Had someone swapped places?

The contractors looked around. There was no one else. Only a wolf sculpture stood on the rooftop, though it looked a bit like a husky~

"Didn't you want to fight me up close? Let's begin then."

Su Xiao stomped the ground and instantly appeared before a contractor. The contractor's face was full of shock, but his hands moved quickly, raising two iron forks to block.

Su Xiao raised his longsword. The Dragon-Slaying Flash left a blue trail in the air.

Ding~, splat!

The two iron forks in the contractor's hands snapped. A gush of blood sprayed from his chest.

Blood droplets flew before Su Xiao. He sidestepped to avoid them, stomped the ground again, dodged an arrow, and appeared beside another contractor.

Splat.

A flash of the blade, and a head flew up. Su Xiao immediately switched targets.

Weaving through the contractors like a tiger among sheep, the rooftop was small. Unless they jumped off, they were doomed.

A mage died the most miserably. His strength wasn't weak, but he was too close to Su Xiao. If he had kept his distance, even if Su Xiao could kill him, it would have taken some time.

The sound of blades cutting through flesh echoed continuously. The contractors turned and fled.

Three minutes later, the rooftop was stained with blood. This was the nature of battles between contractors—kill or be killed.

The healer who wanted revenge on Su Xiao was crawling on the ground. One of her arms had been severed, and there was a half-meter-long wound on her back.

"Cough, cough~."

The healer coughed up blood, her lips trembling. Not just her lips—her whole body was shaking. She now clearly understood this trap. The person on the rooftop wasn't a sniper at all, but a melee expert. They had been stupid enough to willingly close in on this melee expert.

"Please... spare me."

Su Xiao slowly walked to the healer and looked down at her. "Not seeking revenge anymore? Begging your enemy for mercy?"

"No... no more revenge. I'll give you anything you want—equipment, Paradise Coins, anything. I can even sleep with you. Just spare my life."

Su Xiao's eyes flickered. A hint of joy gradually appeared on the healer's face.

"I refuse."

The joy on the healer's face froze. What greeted her was a sharp, straight blade.

After killing the last enemy, Su Xiao lightly flicked the Dragon-Slaying Flash. A semicircular spray of blood appeared on the ground.

He picked up two Scarlet Cards. Only two had dropped from seven people. Su Xiao sighed. After opening the Spider Empress earlier, he thought there was no such thing as chieftain's luck.

But now it seemed his great chieftain's black hand was intermittent. Sometimes his luck was terrible.

On the opposite rooftop, the Straw Hat Pirates witnessed Su Xiao slaughtering seven contractors.

Luffy and Zoro's expressions were serious. Sanji's face didn't look good. Usopp hid behind cover in fear. Nami retched repeatedly at the sight of the blood and corpses.

Though they were a pirate crew, Nami and Usopp had never seen such a brutal scene.

Su Xiao patted Bubu Wang's head and looked at the Straw Hat Pirates. He wasn't planning to fight them yet.

Su Xiao sat on the edge of the rooftop. The ordinary contractors had been cleared out. Now he just needed to wait—wait for the right moment.

He hadn't forgotten that there was still a violator to deal with. He already knew where that guy was. The bastard was smart enough not to come near the Judicial Tower.
