Chapter 3: Letting a Cursed Person Set Foot on Land Would Cause Their Instant Death.

In conventional combat, the survivability of cursed people can actually be understood as a form of super-regeneration. They are by no means immortal, but they are exceptionally difficult to kill. To put it simply, cursed people are incredibly tanky while also dealing high damage.

Click, click.

The sound of sharp objects piercing the ship's hull came from all directions around the pirate vessel. The noise was dense, and in an instant, dozens of cursed people stood on the surrounding gunwales.

"Captain, what do we do?"

"It's over, everything is over."

"Captain, let's surrender. I don't want to die yet."

"All of you, shut up."

Captain Burke let out a sharp shout. He understood one thing clearly: surrender was useless.

Among the pirates, Winnie Wanda felt both guilty and terrified. She sensed, deep down, that these cursed people were coming for her—or rather, that she had led them here. At that moment, she confirmed one thing: the knowledge in her head was all real! This world was vaster, more mysterious, and more dangerous than she had ever imagined.

"You bitch, you brought these things here."

Captain Burke suddenly turned his gaze, his bloodshot eyes glaring at Winnie Wanda.

"It wasn't me, really, it wasn't."

Winnie Wanda slowly backed away, trying to distance herself from the pirates. After a few steps, she felt herself bump into something damp and cold.

A moan escaped Winnie Wanda's lips, and her legs went weak. She didn't turn around, because she had already guessed what she had bumped into.

"Kill everyone except that woman."

A voice came from above the mast. Before the pirates could check the source, cursed people charged in from all sides.

The battle ended quickly. Captain Burke, with three knives stuck in his body, knelt on the deck, his head drooping. Blood flowed from his mouth and nose, pooling into a small puddle in front of him.

Over twenty corpses lay scattered across the deck, the scene utterly gruesome. Some bodies had their intestines dragged out, still steaming. Nearby, a head was embedded in the main mast. Looking further, it was hard to find a relatively intact corpse. This was how cursed people killed.

"Ugh~"

Winnie Wanda knelt among the corpses, dry heaving. She had experienced many brutal scenes, but at most, those involved dead bodies. This hellish sight was something she had never witnessed before.

With a loud crash, a four-masted ship burst out of the sea. After a dizzying whirl, Winnie was thrown onto the deck of the Doom Number. The last thing she saw was Captain Burke having his throat torn open by a cursed person using a blackened hook-blade.

The pirate ship slowly sank into the sea. On the deck of the Doom Number, Winnie sat up from the planks. A large axe, heavily corroded by seawater, was pressed against her neck.

"Are you Winnie Wanda?"

Baha landed on the nearby gunwale, sizing up Winnie Wanda.

"My name is Modestie. I'm a nun. See?"

Winnie pulled out a small cross from somewhere. Seeing this, Baha took out a small bottle of white sand and shook it a few times.

"Wrong person? Damn it! Hey, you, kill her and throw her into the sea to feed the fish."

"I am Winnie Wanda!"

Winnie Wanda gave up her last struggle. The nun identity she had just concocted had failed to calm things down.

At that moment, the captain's cabin door opened on its own. Cold mist drifted out, and a figure walked out from the cabin, finally stopping in front of Winnie.

Just as Winnie was about to speak, she felt a hand wrapped in a metal gauntlet grab her chin, forcing her mouth open. Two fingers reached inside.

With a crack, the tooth on the far right side of Winnie's mouth was broken off. She didn't feel any pain. This tooth had been implanted when she was a teenager by the witch who taught her supernatural knowledge.

"I ask, you answer."

Su Xiao crouched in front of Winnie, his arms resting on his knees, a faintly glowing broken tooth pinched between his fingers.

"O... okay."

"Have you figured out how to get cursed people onto land?"

"That's impossible. How can a fish live in sand? Unless..."

Winnie blurted out these words without thinking. She didn't even know why she said it. Fortunately, she caught herself in time and stopped mid-sentence.

"Very good. You must be starving after drifting at sea for so long."

Su Xiao looked at Winnie with a smile on his face.

"I just had breakfast not long ago..."

Winnie's words were cut off by Su Xiao.

"Baha, go prepare some food for her. She's starving. Use Amu's meal portion as a reference."
