Chapter 34: Fangs

The sea train slowly started moving, a plume of black smoke rising. The train's power source was coal.
At some point, it began to rain outside. Raindrops pelted the sea train's carriages, thunder rumbled across the sky, and the rain grew heavier.
Outside, a torrential downpour raged, but inside the sea train, the temperature was comfortable, and soothing music even played.
Su Xiao put away his tablet. That puzzle game was getting increasingly difficult; he suspected it was impossible to clear.
Stretching, Su Xiao stood up and walked toward the fourth carriage, which was the rest area.
"Bai Ye, what are you doing?"
Lu Qi spoke. Hearing Lu Qi's inquiry, Su Xiao's eyes flickered. Now that they were getting closer to the Judicial Island, Lu Qi and the others had transformed from bodyguards into wardens.
  "I'm planning to escape."
Kalifa, Kaku, and Bruno all stood up abruptly.
"That kind of joke isn't funny at all."
Lu Qi's eyelids drooped, and the pigeon on his shoulder flew to the side.
"I'm just going to sleep. No need to be tense. What... do you want to follow me?"
Su Xiao opened the carriage door and entered the fourth carriage. Lu Qi and the others didn't follow.
"What do we do? His attitude is still unclear. He did help us before, but I always feel he has other motives."
Kalifa had always harbored hostility toward Su Xiao. She had almost been pinned down and rubbed against the ground before, and her sensitive areas had been touched by that man.
"He definitely has other plans. That's beyond doubt. But he won't escape before we reach the Judicial Island. If he wanted to, he would have fled when we captured Nico Robin. Bruno is no match for him."
Lu Qi remained very calm. After looking around at the other three, his expression turned displeased.
"You were too impulsive just now."
  "Sorry."
The conversation between Su Xiao and the CP9 members all reached Robin's ears. Robin could now confirm that Su Xiao's situation was truly similar to hers. She pressed her hand to her chest, where between her ample bosom, an alchemy bomb was currently wedged.
Arriving at the fourth carriage, there was a corridor with a row of compartments on one side, each containing a bed.
Su Xiao pushed open the door to one compartment. The interior was simple, with only a bed.
Standing in front of the bed, Su Xiao closed his eyes and sensed the condition of the sea train.
"The seventh carriage, huh? Three guards in total."
Opening his eyes, Su Xiao looked at Bubuteni.
"Bubu, lie down on the bed. Sideways."
Bubu Wang whimpered twice and stepped back. His watery eyes clearly said: 'Master, what are you trying to do? I'm male.'
  "Woof."
"Learning to talk back now, are you? Just lie down when I tell you to."
Bubu Wang was very sad. He cast a resentful glance at Su Xiao, thinking: 'I've always seen you as my master, but you want to mount me.'
Tail between his legs, Bubu Wang lay down on the bed. Su Xiao covered him with the blanket.
  "Relax. Sleep."
Bubu Wang looked at Su Xiao with confusion.
"Sleep when I tell you to."
Though still puzzled, Bubu Wang rested his head on the pillow and tried to sleep. Within two minutes, he was asleep.
Five minutes later, Bubu Wang was drooling, snoring very loudly.
Seeing this, Su Xiao nodded and stood still beside him.
Not long after, someone approached from outside the door. If Su Xiao's perception weren't so sharp, he wouldn't have noticed the person outside.
The person pressed an ear to the door for a moment, heard the snoring from inside the compartment, and nodded.
  Thump, thump, thump...
The person knocked on the compartment door. Su Xiao didn't respond immediately. After waiting a few seconds, he covered Bubu Wang's mouth and asked in a muffled tone, "Who is it?"
"Bai Ye, do you want dinner?"
  It was Kalifa's voice.
  "No, I'm dead tired."
With that, Su Xiao released the terrified Bubu Wang and signaled for him to continue sleeping.
Bubu Wang rested his head on the pillow and let out a long sigh. Dog life was bleak.
Soon enough, Bubu Wang fell asleep again without a care, snoring loudly. Kalifa listened at the door for over ten minutes before walking away.
Su Xiao took off all his clothes, changed into a black outfit, and removed his shoes, going barefoot.
Bubu Wang woke up at the sound of clothes being removed, his dog face full of terror. Su Xiao stared at him. Bubu Wang sighed again, lay back on the pillow, and continued sleeping.
Su Xiao took out tools like a screwdriver and pliers, and removed the glass from the carriage window.
Setting the removed glass aside, Su Xiao leaned his upper body out of the train and scanned the surroundings.
The sea in the rainstorm was pitch black. Visibility was less than ten meters. The only light on the water came from the speeding sea train.
Su Xiao climbed out of the window and onto the top of the sea train.
Strong winds blew, and cold rain slapped against his face.
Su Xiao walked slowly along the top of the sea train. Because he wasn't wearing shoes, his feet were icy cold, but he made no sound as he moved.
