Chapter 16: Forcibly Breached

Less than five minutes into the battle, the main wall of ‘Blazing Valley Fortress’ was breached. No, to be more precise, almost nothing remained of the main wall; magma was everywhere.
The Elven casualties weren’t too high. The sense of crisis before Apollo’s explosion had allowed them to flee. Su Xiao’s goal wasn’t to blow up a certain number of Elves, but to break through the wall. That was why he had Bubu Wang place Apollo inside the wall.
“Kill!!”
“Kill these tree monkeys!”
The Grey Orcs roared. They called the Elves tree monkeys mainly because the Elves lived in forests, and their common mode of transportation was swinging on vines.
Large feet stomped through the magma formed from the melted wall, causing the Orc soldiers to charge forward with strange cries. Fortunately, the soles of their feet had thick calluses.
The Elves inside the fortress had already prepared their defensive formation. As the Grey Orcs rushed through the thick smoke, a volley of arrows met them head-on.
A Grey Orc soldier, before he could react, was pierced through the head by an arrow and sent flying backward.
“Draw swords!”
An Elven battalion commander shouted. This ‘draw swords’ command was very ceremonial, like a knight challenging an enemy to a duel, exuding calmness born of strength.
In contrast, the Grey Orcs were baring their fangs and brandishing claws, their weapons caked with dried blood. Heaven knows when they last bathed. Last year? Or a few years ago?
The sound of swords being drawn in unison rang out. Elven swords were slightly narrower for aesthetics, and the overall weight of the sword compensated for the lack of chopping power.
“Fellow countrymen, I am with you.”
Elven Prince Valen pointed his longsword forward, and the Elven warriors around him all charged ahead.
“Roar!”
The Grey Orcs, wielding various weapons, met them head-on. For some reason, a faint red gleam appeared in their eyes.
The Elves, formed in ranks, charged in unison. Facing them was a chaotic swarm of Orcs.
Weapons clashed, metal rang out. The sounds of slashing and screams were incessant. Even in battle, the Elves displayed elegance.
An Elven warrior, with a graceful motion, horizontally blocked a descending serrated greatsword. The moment their weapons met, with a loud *clang*, the Elven warrior nearly kowtowed to the Grey Orc opposite him, almost forced to his knees by the immense pressure.
*Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!*
Blood flew. The Elven warrior, who had almost kowtowed to his enemy, was chopped into a mess, fell to the ground, convulsed, and died quickly.
Facts proved that no matter how ceremonial the Elves were in battle, if they couldn't win, they couldn't win.
The Orc force, like a torrent, directly charged into the fortress. The Wraiths howled, causing a large group of Elves to bleed from their seven orifices and fall dead. War Treant picked up boulders covered in magma and hurled them deep into the fortress.
Half an hour into the battle, the Elven defensive line was almost completely broken. Both sides began street fighting inside the fortress.
One hour into the battle, Elven casualties exceeded 40,000. They were pushed back to the inner side of the fortress.
Two hours into the battle, Elven casualties exceeded 80,000. Elven Prince Valen requested a talk with Su Xiao. He was ignored.
Three hours into the battle, a 100,000-strong force from the Duoyin Empire arrived. Su Xiao dispatched 80,000 Orc troops to meet them. After annihilating 20,000 of the enemy, the Duoyin forces found the situation untenable and retreated completely.
Four hours into the battle, Elven casualties exceeded 100,000. Elven Prince Valen surrendered. He was ignored.
At the same time, Dwarf reinforcements arrived, a force of 60,000. After 30,000 were annihilated, they scattered.
Five hours into the battle, the Duoyin Empire forces came to reinforce again. They were ambushed by our Orc troops along the way. After their battle line was cut and 5,000 were killed, the Duoyin forces retreated and camped on the southwest side of the battlefield, forming a defensive line to prevent the Orc army from breaking into the central battlefield.
Six hours into the battle, the Elves were nearly completely annihilated. Of the 200,000 Elven warriors, only 7,600 survived. However, because the bloodthirsty Grey Orcs were too hard to control, these 7,600 Elves weren’t even taken prisoner before being overwhelmed by the Grey Orcs.
Inside the devastated fortress, most buildings had collapsed. Several wooden structures were engulfed in raging flames. The ground was littered with the corpses of Elves and Grey Orcs.
An Elven warrior knelt on the ground, covered in blood and filth, his body trembling uncontrollably. His pride had been killed off.
Under the effect of the ‘Bloody Battle’ effect of the War Lord title, the Grey Orcs became extremely belligerent and bloodthirsty. As long as an Elven prisoner showed an arrogant attitude, the Grey Orc soldiers would kill them without a second word.
“Stay away from him, all of you, get lost!”
Orc Hero Warpole said with a face full of killing intent. The bloodstains on his face made him look even fiercer. The few Grey Orcs nearby walked away resentfully.
Warpole was currently blocking the kneeling Elf. In fact, if it weren’t for him, this Elf would have been killed by passing Grey Orcs long ago.
In the minds of all Grey Orcs, Su Xiao was absolutely not to be disobeyed. The result was worse than death; over 200 Grey Orcs had already tried it. As for Warpole, he wasn’t someone to provoke lightly either, or you’d easily get smashed to death by his warhammer.
“Where is your Elven Prince?”
Warpole wiped some blood from his face and crouched in front of the Elven warrior, who had his hands on his head.
“Speak quickly. If I can’t find out where the Elven Prince is, I won’t get to eat today.”
Saying this, a hint of worry appeared in Warpole’s eyes.
“He is, he is…”
The kneeling Elven warrior spoke halfway, then pulled a cross-sword from a nearby pile of rubble, thrusting it straight at Warpole’s chest.
With a *shlash*, the cross-sword pierced into Warpole’s chest.
“Die, you lowly beast race!”
The Elven warrior’s face was ferocious. Clearly, the Elves still had some backbone.
Warpole looked down at the cross-sword stuck in his chest. He raised his hand, scratched his face with his sharp fingertips, and grinned.
“Are you tickling me?”
Warpole stood up and scanned his surroundings.
“Tanyatan, he’s yours.”
The Tanyatan Warpole mentioned was a Wraith. This Wraith floated above the Elven warrior. Her beautiful face was flushed; she loved handsome Elven men the most.
“No, no, no!”
The Elven warrior wailed, gradually being enveloped by the black fluid from Tanyatan’s lower body. Tanyatan let out a giggling laugh.
Warpole didn’t even look at this scene. He pulled the cross-sword from his chest, examined it up and down, and even flicked the blade with his finger. It seemed to emit a whistling sound.
“Good sword. Is this the Elven Prince’s sword? I’ll present it to Lord White Night.”
Warpole hung the Wind Sword at his waist. Just as he was about to leave, the faint cry of the Elven warrior reached his ears.
“Did you just say where Elven Prince Valen is?”
“He didn’t.”
The Wraith Tanyatan spoke first, but under Warpole’s gaze, the black fluid beneath her surged. She threw the Elven warrior out and floated away, looking very displeased.
Half an hour later, Elven Prince Valen, his face stained with blood and dust, was pressed into a three-story stone building.
With a *thud*, Valen was kicked to his knees. This caused the anger in his chest to surge, and his whole body trembled.
“Are you Elven Prince Valen?”
Su Xiao sat on a wooden chair. Bubu Wang crouched by his leg. Behind him stood two exceptionally strong Grey Orcs. Further away were Wraiths responsible for serving tea and water.
“Yes.”
Valen hung his head askew. He didn’t need to think to know what the enemy leader wanted. It was nothing more than using him as leverage to extort food from the Elven Great Forest. This was also his bargaining chip. The Chaos Legion was too poor; they would never miss this opportunity.
“Tell me, how much food should I exchange for your life?”
“Hmph.”
Elven Prince Valen snorted coldly, completely relieved. If he was still a bit panicked just now, he had now completely steadied his mind. He absolutely could not lose the face of the Elven race. Of course, as long as the enemy showed him appropriate respect, he wouldn’t mind having the Elven Great Forest hand over more food.
“Drag him out. Kill him.”
“!”
Elven Prince Valen suddenly raised his head, his eyes wide. He could feel that the enemy wasn’t joking. He still had a great future ahead of him. How could he die here just because of one defeat in battle?
“I am willing to offer…”
*Bang!* Before Valen could finish, a fist the size of a sandbag came crashing down. He was dragged out by several Grey Orcs.
Two minutes later, Elven Prince Valen died. He was 107 years old (roughly equivalent to a 30-year-old human). Cause of death: snorted coldly.
