# Chapter 32: Must Succeed
Su Xiao's cell was located in the middle section of the first underground floor, used to detain stronger Terrain Species.
What to do when Terrain Species become starving to the point of losing reason? The answer was to lock them up first. If some food could restore their sanity, they would regain freedom. If they couldn't recover their reason, they would be sent to the Rebirth Ground to make their final contribution to the clan.
'Rebirth Ground' was just a pleasant-sounding name, a beautiful fantasy the Aberrant Species had about that place. In reality, it was a magnetic field for collecting soul energy. To migrate an entire clan, having only Space-Time Power Crystallization wasn't enough; an ultra-massive central device was also needed.
The Beastmen would never know that this central device would be filled by their entire race, along with one-third of the Terrain Species.
The Aberrant Species were going mad. If they didn't leave this world soon, their population would rapidly decline due to dwindling resources. If another race invaded this world, they wouldn't even have a chance to fight back, ultimately facing extinction.
This wasn't the Aberrant Species suffering from persecution paranoia. It was because the Beastmen had arrived in the Ten Thousand Beast Continent by chance from another world. Before they came, the Aberrant Species had been sleeping in this world for hundreds of years.
The infiltration went relatively smoothly. Due to the harassment from the assault team outside the fortress, many Aberrant Species inside the main stronghold had left. The only unknown was where the Mad Doctor had gone.
Su Xiao sat in the cell. Bubu Wang had already scouted the lower levels first. After confirming there was no danger, Su Xiao and the others directly passed through the ground, descending layer by layer.
With Bubu Wang's cover, Su Xiao smoothly entered a secret room on the second underground floor. After staying only two minutes, he quickly reached the third underground floor.
He looked around and found this place resembled a nest. Countless biological sacs were distributed throughout the third floor. This was where the Terrain Species slept to reduce energy consumption.
Most of the biological sacs were already empty. Needless to say, the Terrain Species inside had all gone to the surface to fight.
On the inner side of the third underground floor, many biological sacs were in a raised state. At this moment, one knife per Terrain Species would yield a large amount of merit. Unfortunately, killing Terrain Species here carried too high a risk. Once exposed, all previous efforts would vanish like smoke.
A few minutes later, Bubu Wang on the fourth underground floor sent a message. The situation had become very troublesome. The fourth floor was quite empty, with only stone pillars as cover. And here, tens of thousands of Fission Species were guarding, wearing Beastman-forged armor and holding greatswords, war hammers, and other heavy weapons.
The fourth underground floor was blocked. Now was the time to decide: would Su Xiao attract the attention of these Fission Species, or would the Autistic Brothers do it?
"Tree."
The Autistic Younger Brother spoke. His elder brother looked at him and shook his head.
"I'll buy... 5 seconds."
The Autistic Elder Brother unbuttoned his shirt, revealing spiral nails hanging all over the inside of his clothes.
"5 seconds is enough."
Su Xiao stepped toward the innermost part of the third floor, walking past biological sacs containing Terrain Species. Touching even one would expose him.
After reaching the innermost part of the third floor, Su Xiao pressed his hand against the ground. There was only one chance for 5 seconds. The Autistic Elder Brother was buying these 5 seconds at the cost of possibly dying here. It wasn't that the Autistic Elder Brother was selfless; he simply wanted his younger brother to live. It was that simple.
The Autistic Brothers and Su Xiao were all responsible for attracting the guards' attention. Now the Autistic Elder Brother was doing it. When they reached the fifth floor, it would be Su Xiao's turn. This was the pre-arranged plan.
When the danger level was high and there was a chance to seize the Space-Time Power Crystallization, Su Xiao would attract the guards' attention. Along the way, the Autistic Elder Brother was responsible.
The Ghost Girl was the map; she couldn't be harmed yet. Baha needed to quickly seize 9 Space-Time Power Crystallizations from special Aberrant Species. Bubu Wang was responsible for clearing the path and carrying the Space-Time Power Crystallizations to retreat once obtained.
Whether Su Xiao, the Ghost Girl, and the Autistic Brothers could escape alive depended on their own abilities. Seizing the Space-Time Power Crystallization wasn't one person's task but everyone's task. Right now, outside the fortress, other allied contractors were harassing the Aberrant Species army at the risk of being surrounded.
After waiting ten seconds, chaos erupted from the lower level. The opportunity had come. Su Xiao vanished from his spot. He didn't enter the fourth floor but directly used Dragon Shadow Flash to reach the fifth floor. Without someone attracting attention, the subtle fluctuations from spatial penetration would definitely be detected by the Fission Species.
Su Xiao felt the solid ground beneath his feet. The fifth floor had arrived. A glass bottle fell from above, brought by the Autistic Younger Brother, who didn't appear himself.
Boom, boom...
Smashing sounds came from above. After a while, the smashing subsided.
"What's going on?"
A booming voice came from outside the room, speaking in the Aberrant Species language.
"Human invasion."
"Invaded all the way here? Hmm, from what they say, these humans are strong. It seems that's indeed the case."
"Two humans have already been killed."
The sound of clanging armor gradually faded away. Su Xiao leaned against the wall. A faint sound of plant sprouting came, and a branch grew from a crack in the wall, forming a line of small text.
'Must succeed, Bai Ye. Big Brother... is gone.'
Seeing this line of small text, Su Xiao spoke in a low voice: "I'll do my best. If I die, there's no helping it."
With that, Su Xiao gently pushed open the iron door. The layout here was similar to the first floor above ground. After exiting, there was a winding stone corridor.
Drip, drip~
In the quiet and cold stone corridor, the sound of dripping water was especially noticeable.
"Meow, the place Beini came to is here. I'm sure of it. Her previous description matches the image in my head. It's this floor."
The Ghost Girl's tone was firm. Hearing this reply, Su Xiao breathed a sigh of relief in his heart. With a clear target, things would be much easier.
Bubu Wang was still responsible for scouting ahead. Strangely enough, the fifth floor didn't have many guards, at least not in this area.
A very low grinding sound came. Su Xiao stopped and approached a doorway, looking inside.
The scene before him surprised Su Xiao somewhat. He saw several contractors tied to metal chairs, their mouths gagged, tears in their eyes, their expressions utterly despairing.
A man wearing a hood and slaughterhouse clothes sat on a low stool in front of them, grinding a thin-bladed knife.
Seeing this back view, Su Xiao felt very familiar. This guy looked like the Mad Doctor.
In fact, it was the Mad Doctor. This bastard had switched Parasitic Species again. This time, it was a high-ranking Aberrant Species responsible for guarding prisoners at a key location. He had been ambushed by the Mad Doctor and was now mentally disabled.
The Mad Doctor had just arrived. Several girls from Holy Light Paradise were trembling in fear. They had witnessed the tragic fate of their previous teammates. The Mad Doctor was very helpless; he hadn't actually done anything, but to avoid exposure, he was sharpening his knife to scare them.
This strange combination didn't make Su Xiao stop for long. After traveling through the maze-like stone corridor for half an hour, the corridor suddenly opened up.
The stone corridor ahead was over ten meters wide, filled with Fission Species. They not only wore armor but were also exceptionally muscular—all elite individuals.
Among these elite Fission Species sat a giant ape. Its entire body was covered in white fur, with scars and stitching marks all over. If this giant ape fought the King Kong King, it would be quite a spectacle.
On the giant ape's shoulder sat a woman. Her long hair was loose, and she carried a palm-wide greatsword on her back.
Both of these were Parasitic Species, sixth-rank boss-level Parasitic Species. One had parasitized a dominant creature—the giant ape—and the other had parasitized a powerful human. What made it worse was that they seemed to be a combo.
In this situation, two boss-level enemies were troublesome enough on their own. As a combo, their difficulty was unimaginable. Moreover, near them were over a hundred small boss-level elite Fission Species, and on the fourth floor above, there were tens of thousands of sub-elite Fission Species.
